Our elders are our pride, not props for political publicity. Bhagwant Mann’s government has allegedly turned Independence Day into a publicity stunt, with Health Department employees reportedly presented as elderly beneficiaries of successful knee replacement surgeries despite never undergoing the procedure. A spectacle of lies in the name of August 15! Elderly people were made to dance before the cameras and presented as beneficiaries. A staged performance was then projected as a major achievement of the government’s so called “health revolution.” Punjab’s hospitals need doctors, medicines and real treatment, not propaganda and photo ops. Our elders deserve dignity. Punjab deserves the truth.

My humble question to Hon Punjab Governor Shri Ghulab Chand Kataria Ji whether the march he is leading against drugs is actually a campaign against drugs or an attempt to run the ‘Samjhuta Express’ and prepare ground for forging Akali-BJP alliance in the state. Before leading the march did you raise the matter with the Union Home Ministry under whose jurisdiction the border security falls. The BSF jurisdiction has been expanded upto 50 kms inside the borders. While the AAP government has completely failed already, what is the central government doing to prevent smuggling of drugs from across the border. I would request you to raise the matter with the union Home Ministry before running the ‘Samjhauta Express’ for an Akali-BJP alliance in the name of anti-drug march. I must add, the pictures of the ‘march’ look too “nice” to be overlooked for the “obvious message” they carry and convey.

A father, watching his family being destroyed as his son battled drug addiction, raised his voice and questioned Adv Harpal Singh Cheema He was subjected to such immense harassment and pressure that he ultimately attempted suicide. He held Harpal Cheema and the village Sarpanch responsible for his plight. I am deeply saddened by this heartbreaking incident. Punjab Congress demands an immediate, impartial probe and strict action against Harpal Cheema and the Sarpanch. There can be no impunity when a grieving father is driven to such despair.

Had one of the most horrifying experiences while traveling from Chandigarh to Jaipur today in Aircraft 6E7261 by IndiGo. We were made to wait for about 10-15 minutes in the queue in the scorching sun and when we entered the Plane, to our shock, the ACs weren't working and the flight took off without the ACs on! Right from the take off to landing, the ACs were off and all the passengers were made to 'Suffer' throughout the journey. No one addressed the serious concern during the flight. In fact, the air hostess ‘generously’ distributed tissue papers to the passengers to wipe off their sweat. Most of the passengers including women and children were restless and agitated, which can be seen clearly in the video. Helpless passengers were fanning themselves with papers to keep cool. It was clearly a major technical issue but the authorities concerned just wanted to mince money that is why the health and comfort of the passengers was put at stake. I urge DGCA Airports Authority of India to take strict action against #IndigoAirlines and the authorities concerned so that the passengers don’t have to go through such traumatic experience again.

I am deeply hurt after watching this video from Khanna. People were peacefully chanting “Satnam Waheguru” while demanding their pending MGNREGA wages. Instead of listening to them, the Bhagwant Mann government responded with tear gas shells. When workers asking for their hard-earned wages are treated like criminals, it raises a serious question about the government’s priorities. A government that claims to stand with farmers and labourers should be hearing their voices—not silencing them with force. Punjab deserves compassion, accountability, and justice—not repression.

Seems like Ravneet Singh Bittu is not just a traitor but also a thankless person. The Congress enabled his first term by accommodating him in Anandpur Sahib, then when he could not win from there, he was shifted to Ludhiana where he won twice with the support of congress cadres. If you were such a strong leader how come you dint win this time on BJP ticket? And mind you Punjab will never accept a traitor even in future elections!

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਈਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਉਹੀ ਰਵੱਈਆ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਕਈ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਲਾਈਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰੀਆਂ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਹਾਲਾਤ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਸ. ਕੁਲਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਪਿਆ ਕਿ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੋਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਲਾਈਵ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸੰਜੀਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨਾ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਈਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਉਹੀ ਰਵੱਈਆ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਕਈ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਲਾਈਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰੀਆਂ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਹਾਲਾਤ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਸ. ਕੁਲਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਪਿਆ ਕਿ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੋਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਲਾਈਵ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸੰਜੀਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨਾ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ।

I express profound gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu ji, on behalf of the people of Punjab, for reverting the entry tax for vehicles from Punjab to the previous rate. In another major relief for residents of border areas, those living within a 5km radius of the state border will get free entry into Himachal Pradesh. These passes can be issued by respective SDMs/Tehsildars in both states for those living within the 5km radius.
