I’m at an event in Dearborn, Michigan where the Trump campaign is holding an event headlined by former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell. He’s selling Trump as the candidate for peace in the Middle East, with zero details. But this messaging is working on some people. There are 3 kinds of Arabs at this event. 1) Arab American Republicans who already were in Trump’s corner 2) Younger people who believe nothing will be worse than the genocide Harris and Biden have overseen. They think Trump is a wild card, maybe he’ll stop it, but Harris definitely won’t. 3) Middle and upper middle class Arabs who voted for Biden in 2020 but are incensed by Biden/Harris on the genocide and find Trump’s family values ideas appealing.
