After Batgirl (2022) was canceled, director Bilall Fallah says co-director Adil El Arbi told him to "shoot everything on your phone" before the footage vanished. By the time he checked the server, he had already been blocked by the studio, "everything was gone" — including the scenes featuring Michael Keaton's Batman. Adding to the frustration, Brendan Fraser who was cast as the villain Firefly, later said the film's Gotham, created using Glasgow, was one of the best versions of the city he'd ever seen. It was Warner Bros. Discovery that made the unprecedented decision to shelve the completed $90 million Batgirl movie as a tax write-off in August 2022. Both directors expressed extreme frustration that they couldn't even keep the rare scenes they had shot featuring Michael Keaton as Batman, which were permanently lost to them.

In The Man with Two Brains (1983), Carl Reiner called the scene with 4-year-old one of his all-time favorites. He gave her a long list of complicated medical instructions, and she repeated every word perfectly in a single take. Reiner said, “She was four, she couldn't read!”

This deleted scene from Titanic (1997) shows another passenger spotting Rose’s door and trying to climb aboard. Jack confronts him and warns him off, but the man replies, “Let me try at least, or I’ll die soon.” The moment reveals that Jack wasn’t simply treading water waiting for a solution. He was actively choosing to keep Rose on the door, even at the cost of another person’s chance of survival. Years later, James Cameron commissioned a scientific study that concluded both Jack and Rose could have survived with the right positioning. He has since more or less admitted the door was a storytelling choice rather than a physical impossibility

In Top Gun (1986), Tom Cruise completely blanked while looking at Kelly McGillis during this scene, so instead of stopping the take or asking for another shot, he suddenly kissed her — director Tony Scott loved the improvised moment and kept it in the film.

After Rob Reiner screened Stand by Me (1986) for Stephen King, he noticed that King was visibly shaking and wasn’t speaking. Stephen King left the room, then returned and told Rob Reiner it was the best adaptation of his work he had ever seen. RIP Rob Reiner.

Freya Allan said the Rats massacre in The Witcher Season 4 was so brutal that she left the country to avoid backlash — “It was a scary one for everyone.” The book-faithful scene hit hard, and that tension may be part of why Henry Cavill eventually walked away.

The cat seen in Caught Stealing (2025) is actually Tonic, a Siberian Forest Cat, his owner and lead trainer, Melissa Millett, found him as a stray kitten wandering the streets of Toronto about 8 years ago. Tonic was known for his extreme focus, once staying on his "mark" for an hour and a half. However, if he didn't feel like doing a take after 10 or 12 rounds, he would simply refuse to get back on his mark, signaling he was "done" for the day To prepare for the film's intense scenes, Millett practiced "fake killing" her assistant in front of Tonic so he would stay calm during the movie's bone-crunching violence. Before this film, Tonic already had a "horror icon" resume. He played the pre-death version of Church in the 2019 Pet Sematary remake and also appeared as Dewey in the 2023 slasher Thanksgiving. Director Darren Aronofsky admitted he is a dedicated "dog person" and generally "hated cats" before production. After working with Tonic, he was so impressed that he said he’d "work with Tonic in a second again over many human actors".

Me Before You (2016) shows the clear difference between being loved — and being noticed. Patrick gives Lou a necklace with his own name on it. Will gives Emilia Clarke’s Lou the bumblebee tights she loved since childhood. One is ego. The other is understanding.
