Brad Pitt publicly hated Troy (2004) and regretted taking the role. Pitt took the role because he needed to fulfill a commitment after withdrawing from another Warner Bros. project. To avoid legal and financial penalties, Brad Pitt agreed to star in Troy instead. He called it "a commercial kind of thing," saying the storytelling lacked mystery because the camera was always focused on him as the hero. Even so, he committed fully to Achilles. Pitt spent nearly 6 months training in sword fighting, boxing, sprinting, and weightlifting, gaining around 10–15 pounds (4.5–7 kg) of lean muscle to resemble ancient Greek statues. While filming, he ironically tore his Achilles tendon during a battle scene, delaying production. Looking back, Pitt admitted, "I chunked that scene... I blew that scene. It could be better. I would love another shot at it." Ironically, many fans and critiques believe that the flatness actually works for Achilles in the film — a character who doesn’t care about anything except winning battles.

The most insane single take in TV involved 50+ crew members and after a full day of rehearsal, the 1-minute-42-second shot was captured in just 3 takes. The famous single-take scene from Kidding (2018) follows Riki Lindhome as her life and apartment change over several years in one unbroken shot. No CGI or digital cuts were used. More than 50 crew members transformed the set live as the camera turned away, while Lindhome changed costumes and body doubles handled some transitions. Jim Carrey’s Mr. Pickles played on the TV to mark the passage of time, and the sequence ended with a live dog. After a full day of rehearsal, the 1-minute-42-second shot was captured in just 3 takes.

After Batgirl (2022) was canceled, director Bilall Fallah says co-director Adil El Arbi told him to "shoot everything on your phone" before the footage vanished. By the time he checked the server, he had already been blocked by the studio, "everything was gone" — including the scenes featuring Michael Keaton's Batman. Adding to the frustration, Brendan Fraser who was cast as the villain Firefly, later said the film's Gotham, created using Glasgow, was one of the best versions of the city he'd ever seen. It was Warner Bros. Discovery that made the unprecedented decision to shelve the completed $90 million Batgirl movie as a tax write-off in August 2022. Both directors expressed extreme frustration that they couldn't even keep the rare scenes they had shot featuring Michael Keaton as Batman, which were permanently lost to them.

In The Fifth Element (1997), the blue alien opera singer, Diva Plavalaguna, was played by Maïwenn. Maïwenn has publicly said she met director Luc Besson when she was 12 and began a romantic relationship with him when she was 15. Maïwenn has claimed that the relationship between Portman’s character (Mathilda) and Jean Reno’s character (Léon) in Léon: The Professional was partially inspired by her own real-life relationship with Besson, which began when she was 12 and he was 29. In January 1993, at 16, she gave birth to their daughter, Shanna. She was 20 years old when filming on The Fifth Element began in early 1996. During the production of the film, Besson left Maïwenn for the movie's lead actress, Milla Jovovich. Maïwenn explicitly told investigators that when Besson abandoned her on the set of The Fifth Element, he targeted her physical appearance: "When he left me, he told me that I didn’t have the body that suited him." She further noted that Besson cut her off completely, refusing to acknowledge her successes or support their child financially: "He didn't congratulate me for my Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and even stopped paying child support without taking the trouble to warn me." Besson and Jovovich got married in 1997 before divorcing in 1999.
