Jason Kenney calls for nationalization of Alberta oil The former premier's demand that Alberta use its oil as a negotiating tool with the United States is nearly indistinguishable from Pierre Trudeau's National Energy Program. The political pressure on Alberta Premier Danielle Smith to join the anti-Trump chorus has been extraordinary. Doug Ford, Mark Carney, Naheed Nenshi, the NDP official opposition, Olivia Chow, David Eby, and Jason Kenney have all been demanding that Alberta weaponize its oil exports — to cut off shipments, impose export tariffs, or otherwise use the private sector's work as a political cudgel. Smith recorded a public video address and walked through exactly what would happen if any of them got their way. If Canada imposed a 50% export tariff on the four million barrels of oil it sends daily to the United States, she said, the U.S. would immediately respond with 50% to 100% tariffs on the oil, natural gas, diesel, and gasoline it exports back to Ontario and Quebec. Texas refineries, currently tooled for Alberta heavy oil, would immediately begin sourcing Venezuelan heavy oil as a replacement — and would reverse their pipelines northward to get it. "As a result," Smith said, "we would lose the United States as a customer entirely and likely forever." The results would be disastrous: Toronto Stock Exchange would collapse, half a million jobs would be gone, mostly in Alberta but hundreds of thousands more in Ontario and Quebec. Ontario and Quebec, which import refined petroleum products from Midwest U.S. refineries, would face fuel shortages heading into fall and winter — with no strategic petroleum reserve to buffer them, something the U.S. but Canada does not. Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe made the same point, saying "20 to 50% of Canadians' refined petroleum products — our diesel, our gasoline — travel through the United States of America back into Canada to be refined and utilized," he said. An export tariff on Western Canadian oil would hit Eastern Canada harder than it would hit the energy industry itself. It was a "flawed policy 10 years ago," Moe said, and it's a "flawed policy today." In the long chorus of critics calling for Premier Smith to take drastic measures, Ezra's focus was on Jason Kenney. The former Canadian Taxpayers Federation executive director, former Harper cabinet minister, and former Alberta premier — whose lifeblood was always oil and gas — is now calling for Alberta to cut off U.S. oil exports as a political weapon. "What's the difference between Jason Kenney ordering a stop to oil production," Ezra asked, "and Pierre Trudeau and Marc Lalonde doing it in the National Energy Program? Both are a de facto nationalization." Ezra noted that Alberta oil companies have decade-long contracts with American refineries, private contracts no politician has the legal authority to order a company not to fulfill. And if anyone tried, the U.S. legal and financial response would be immediate and catastrophic. Ezra also drew the parallel to the Emergencies Act and the frozen bank accounts of Freedom Convoy supporters. His theory: American banks and insurance companies operating in Canada were quietly told by Washington that if they actually complied with Trudeau's order to freeze accounts — violating U.S. customer privacy laws in the process — they would withdraw from Canada entirely, the same way they withdrew from Venezuela after its nationalizations. "Faced with this," he said, "Trudeau and the finance minister said, 'If there was a run on the banks, that would tank the economy.'" The Emergencies Act was revoked shortly after. Ezra speculated that the motivation behind Kenney's call to use oil as a bargaining chip is a combination of personal bitterness toward Danielle Smith, a desire to undermine Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, and an ambition to position himself as the federal Conservative who sold out Alberta to win Ontario and Atlantic seats. "He wants to get back to the big game," Ezra said. "He's always wanted to be prime minister." He added that Kenney has still not been publicly identified as working for any particular client — and said he wants to know who is paying him. He also connected the broader phenomenon to what he described as a deranged cult of personality against Trump, more powerful and more irrational than any cult of personality for him. "Every part of our political society — the media, industry leaders, politicians — are acting as if your life, that liquor merchant, that oil man, and that politician must all become political weapons," he said. "I'm furious. And I'm disgusted with what's happening with Jason Kenny."

BREAKING: Toronto Police just fined our billboard truck driver outside WNBA game for displaying a pro-women message Toronto police have just hit our billboard truck with two fines totalling $1,230 for playing a video defending women’s sports. Our driver Mark was parked right outside the WNBA game in downtown Toronto. The truck’s massive screens were running a public service announcement featuring Serena Williams and Martina Navratilova explaining a simple biological fact: no matter how talented a female athlete is, men are stronger. Police swarmed the truck, ordered Mark to turn the video off, and claimed it was illegal for him to play that ad. They issued a $615 ticket on the spot. Not for any traffic offence, but purely for the content. When Mark put one of the officers on the phone with me, the cop repeated the same absurd claim: that it’s illegal to show a video on a truck. That’s not the law. That’s censorship. And it’s a clear vendetta against Rebel News driven by an extremist pro-transgender ideology that prioritises men over women and girls in sport. Minutes later police issued a second $615 fine, bringing the total to $1,230, and threatened more tickets if the video stayed on. This follows an earlier incident just weeks ago when police stopped the same truck and investigated it for “hate speech” over a similar message. We are covering every cent of these fines. Mark will not pay a dollar. We will fight both tickets in court to defend our freedom of speech and freedom of the press. I'm heading down there right now to stand with Mark. If necessary, I will take over the truck myself so our driver does not have to face further harassment. This has to stop. If you believe police should not be fining independent media for telling the truth about sex and sport, please stand with us and help defend the truck at REPORT by Ezra Levant 🍁🚛:

ROCK THROWN AT REPORTER While Investigating Ceuta Migrant Crisis Efrain Flores Monsanto and Alexa Lavoie report from Ceuta, where Spain's new floating sea barrier has failed to stop migrants swimming, climbing and wading into the enclave, and where a rock was thrown at our reporter mid-interview. Rebel News reporters Efrain Flores Monsanto and Alexa Lavoie recently travelled to Ceuta to report on the recent mass illegal crossings into Spain's two North African enclaves, Ceuta and Melilla. Spanish authorities have installed a new floating barrier along Ceuta's coastal border, meant to stop people from swimming into Spanish territory from Morocco. But migrants are still climbing fences, crossing by land and wading through the water, raising questions about whether the new defences do anything. The reporters also went into El Príncipe, one of Ceuta's most dangerous neighbourhoods, where residents say people have been assaulted, robbed and killed. It is also where migrants shelter in the bushes and hills surrounding the district, and that is what our reporters found. Migrants are living in the area, and some locals bring them water and other basic necessities. Along the shoreline, the impact of the crossings is impossible to miss. Parts of the beach have been cleaned. Long stretches have not. Piles of garbage, makeshift tunnels and bedding left near the ferry terminal show the strain on the city. One visitor told Rebel News he was shocked to see new arrivals sleeping in the grass shortly after reaching Spanish soil. At night the risks grow. Hotel workers told Rebel News that new arrivals are no longer concentrated in one spot but are now scattered across the city. During an interview with a group of illegal migrants, someone threw a rock at Lavoie, forcing the crew to leave. Some of those who crossed said they came for a better life and hoped, with God's help, to support their parents. One of them said, "We keep our stuff clean," while the ground around him was covered in garbage. This is a small preview of a much larger report coming soon.

Disturbing report on Muslim Pakistani rape gangs rocks UK Restore Britain leader Rupert Lowe has released a report detailing the horrific abuse of an estimated 250,000 predominantly white British girls at the hands of Muslim Pakistani rape gangs. The disturbing report crowdfunded by Lowe details the horrific abuse of approximately 250,000 mostly white, young, British girls at the hands of predominantly Muslim Pakistani rape gangs. The report also details how politicians and law enforcement turned a blind eye to the abuse across the country over fears of being labelled racist. McIlvenna commented on the massive scale of the abuse, noting it's difficult to comprehend. "With soccer season, I saw some people had posted on X pictures of the stadiums where the World Cup will be held, and said you can put 60,000 in some of these stadiums. Four times that, four stadiums full, and you begin to get an idea of what has happened in the UK for well over 50 years," he said. "That's kind of a depressing, but a visual way of putting what has happened over the UK in 50 years. And actually, Rupert talks about, he's had reports of his going back 70 years, back from 1955. I've certainly read reports from 1975 in local newspapers up in the north of England," McIlvenna continued. "But with his research, he's looked and found reports and convictions of groups of Pakistani Muslim men raping white, English girls from from as early as 1955," he added. The report has sparked intense anger throughout the country, with Restore Britain calling for mass deportations and accountability for all officials involved in covering up the abuse.
