The new 8-Second Rule: How It Will Be Enforced in England 🧤 Following yesterday’s video, here’s how English referees will apply the new 8-second rule starting July 1: 🔹 Key update: 3 offences = 1 caution If a goalkeeper delays 3 times, they’ll be shown a yellow card. After that, the count resets. 🔹 Why this approach? To balance enforcement with match flow. It gives goalkeepers a clear limit — and teams fair warning. 🔹 Ref process remains the same: – Silent count 8–6 – Visible + verbal count 5–0 – Over 8 seconds?
