It was on its way to Tawila, where hundreds of thousands of people have fled for safety. The driver survived. The supplies did not. More than 1,300 families are now left without the shelter they urgently needed. Attacks like this are unacceptable. They put lives at risk and deepen an already devastating crisis. Civilians must be protected. Humanitarian workers must be protected.

A ceasefire is in place in Lebanon. For some, it meant going back after weeks of displacement. Thousands of families made brief journeys south, hoping to find what they left behind. Many returned north again, met with destroyed homes, uncertainty and a reality that still doesn’t feel safe. For others, going back hasn’t been possible. Their homes are gone. This is what displacement looks like. Not one journey, but many. Back and forth, between hope and loss. People across Lebanon are still trying to cope with the consequences of war. Many can't go home because it's still not safe, and the door to resettlement is nearly closed too. Many are left feeling stuck. One death by suicide is one death too many.
