H.R. 82 #theSocialSecurityFairnessAct passed out of the Senate and now makes its way to the President’s desk to be signed into law! This morning I can’t help but think about Carla and the millions of other public servants who were unfairly penalized by WEP and GPO. Thank you for sharing your stories with me. It was the honor of a lifetime to share them in Congress and fight alongside you to right this wrong. Today is your day and we celebrate you!

Tonight, I urge my colleagues to vote in support of H.R. 82 the #SocialSecurityFairnessAct. The unfair provisions of WEP and GPO impact our public servants — the teachers who educate our children and the firefighters and police officers who keep our communities safe. Our public servants deserve their hard-earned retirement benefits. It is time to right this wrong.
