The situation with the Kennedy Center has gone off the rails. It has officially reached levels of pettiness I didn’t think were possible, but Trump is once again defying the odds. A court ordered his name removed from the building. He lost, fair and square. So, what does he do? He throws a tarp over the sign that says “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts” and just leaves it there. Not for a day, not for a week, but for WEEKS. A federal judge is demanding answers, because apparently we live in a country where a sitting president has to be hauled into court to explain why he’s hiding a building from the American public. A president with a real legacy doesn’t need to paste his name onto someone else’s. And he definitely doesn’t need to hide a sign because a court told him no. A weak man with a bruised ego would. And that’s exactly what’s happening here. It’s petty, it’s absurd, and frankly, it’s embarrassing.

🚨 Every Republican present in the House Appropriations Committee last night voted to make THEMSELVES eligible to collect from Trump's $1.8 billion January 6th slush fund. I am not making this up. I introduced an amendment to stop Members of Congress, the President, and the Vice President from collecting a single dollar from Trump’s slush fund unless a court actually orders it. Every single Republican who cast a vote was AGAINST my amendment, making themselves eligible for settlement funds. Members of Congress, the President, and the Vice President, have no business lining their own pockets by claiming they were victims of government weaponization. Trump set up this fund, now MAGA Republicans in Congress are ensuring they all can collect from it. That is exactly the kind of self-dealing corruption the American people are sick of.

$2.5 million. That’s what a convicted fraudster told fellow inmates he’d arranged to pay to get out of prison early. Not through an appeal, not through a judge, but through a phone call to the president. David Gentile defrauded 10,000 investors out of $1.6 billion and was sentenced to seven years. Less than two weeks later, Trump commuted his entire sentence. When federal prosecutors started investigating how that happened, a DOJ official called the U.S. Attorney running the case, and the investigation was shut down within months. Not because they ran out of evidence. Because someone in Washington decided they shouldn’t keep looking. Welcome to Episode 9 of The Pardon Papers.

If any other president accepted a $400 million jet from a foreign government, made taxpayers spend hundreds of millions more to secure it, and then had it transferred to his own foundation after leaving office, it would be a full-blown national scandal. This is NOT NORMAL. Neither are the billions he is making while in office, the deals his family is profiting from, or the companies connected to his sons benefiting from massive federal support. We cannot normalize a president making billions in office. We cannot normalize his family cashing in on federal deals. And we cannot normalize corruption just because Trump does it every week.

Trump has now paid four different energy companies more than $2.5 BILLION dollars of your tax money to STOP building wind farms that would have brought your electricity bills DOWN. What the American people need is immediate relief from high energy costs, and nothing that this Administration is doing will deliver that.

$1 million. That's the going rate lobbyists now openly quote to get a pardon case in front of Donald Trump. The pardon power exists for one reason: to let a president correct cases where the justice system got something wrong. That’s NOT what’s happening. Trump is creating an under-the-table business where wealthy criminals can buy their way out of a sentence. That is corruption, plain and simple, and it is an egregious abuse of the presidential pardon power. Enough is enough. We need legislation permitting Congress to overturn a presidential pardon with a two-thirds vote.

No president in modern history has used the office to enrich himself the way Donald Trump has. That's not a political opinion. It’s the conclusion of ethics watchdogs who have spent their careers watching this stuff. The crypto ventures. The foreign deals with the Saudis, the Qataris, the Emiratis. The $400 million Qatari jet. The $90 million in media settlements. The gold golf balls from the Japanese. This is the man who told you he was going to clean up Washington. For this President, the presidency isn’t about protecting our democracy or the public trust. It’s about turning the highest office in the land into a personal cash register, and he’s been doing it from day one.

This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America. Trump’s DOJ shut down a federal investigation into a coal company owned by one of his closest Senate allies, after it racked up tens of thousands of alleged violations for dumping toxic chemicals into our waterways. A three-year-old company operating out of a WeWork with reportedly fewer than five employees is being considered for up to $25 BILLION in nuclear energy funds from a trade deal Trump brokered with Japan. The company has never built a nuclear plant or completed a nuclear project of any kind. What does this company bring to the table? The father of its CEO donated $2 million+ to Trump and the GOP, and one of its advisors is a former RNC co-chair and Trump appointee. In this Administration, that’s apparently all you need.

A foreign oil giant was under fire from the Trump White House for buying Russian oil. Then it poured nine figures into a troubled refinery startup tied to Donald Trump Jr. Not long after, the pressure from the Trump Administration vanished. Donald Trump sold it as a win for America. But the real winner was his family. This is pay to play at the highest levels of government. Welcome to Episode 19 of the Corruption Chronicles.

Someone made a fortune betting that America was about to go to war with Iran. They placed that bet 71 minutes before it happened. I’m a member of Congress with access to classified briefings, and I had no reason to believe it was coming right then. How is this legal? Because the guardrails that were supposed to stop this were never put in place. The CFTC was working on them under Biden, and the Trump Administration walked that effort back. And wouldn’t you know it, Donald Trump Jr. has a financial stake in these betting platforms. No one should be able to cash in on advance knowledge of a war, especially when there are lives on the line. Betting on war, death, and regime change should be illegal. That's exactly what my DEATH BETS Act would do.

A man with no official title, no confirmed role, and no public accountability allegedly walked into DHS and started running a pay-to-play scheme with BILLION-dollar contracts. His name is Corey Lewandowski. Multiple companies say they were pressured to pay him or risk losing government contracts. And guess what? Trump knew and did nothing to stop it. Welcome to Episode 10 of the Corruption Chronicles.

America's closest allies gathered in London for the Five Eyes intelligence summit to discuss global security threats. Trump's FBI Director Kash Patel showed up worried about his workout schedule and where he could find a jet ski. A senior FBI executive said Patel's staff only cared about three things: his meals, his workouts, and his entertainment. YOUR tax dollars paid for this trip. YOUR tax dollars paid for staff time arranging Patel's personal vacation while our allies waited to discuss threats to national security. Americans deserve an FBI Director who shows up ready to work, not to party.

Not enough people are talking about this. Trump is trying to escape a $100 million dollar tax penalty, and Senate Republicans are helping him do it. You know about the $1.8 billion slush fund he tried to create to reward his political allies. They got so much pushback that they’ve halted that, at least for now. But what you probably don’t know is that Trump gave himself, his family, and his businesses complete immunity from IRS audits, past and future. Everyone focused on the slush fund, and almost nobody noticed the audit immunity. It’s still in place, and it cannot be allowed to stand.

Trump Jr. bought into a startup. The White House then personally intervened to hand that startup $620 million from the Pentagon, and the company’s valuation jumped from $200 million to $2 billion. You tell me if that sounds suspicious. Today, I introduced an amendment demanding an independent investigation into how this company won this deal without seemingly any competition and with potential conflicts of interest. The American people deserve a straight answer. I’m doing everything possible to make sure we get one.

🚨BREAKING: The White House just sent this one-pager to Senate Republicans on the $1.776 billion “weaponization” fund. Congress never appropriated a dime. Trump’s former defense lawyer decides who gets paid. Even Senators are eligible. This is the January 6th Slush Fund.

Right now, nine Supreme Court justices can shape your rights for decades without ever answering to the American people. That’s not balance. That’s not accountability, and that’s simply too much power for too long. That’s why I’m cosponsoring legislation to establish 18-year term limits for Supreme Court justices, with regular appointments every two years. We need to put an end to strategic retirements, court-packing games, and a system that changes the direction of the country on a single vacancy or lifetime appointment. Term limits don’t weaken the Court. They modernize it by restoring balance, strengthening accountability, and rebuilding public trust. This is how we restore confidence in the Court and strengthen our democracy for the long term.

Trump wants to hand out 250 pardons this summer to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. And guess who’s lining up for a pardon? Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted of helping sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein recruit and groom underage girls. Sam Bankman-Fried, the crypto fraudster convicted of one of the biggest financial frauds in American history, who wiped out the life savings of thousands of ordinary people. Jho Low, accused of stealing $4.5 billion from his own country’s government. Welcome to the latest episode of the Pardon Papers. A presidential pardon is one of the most serious decisions a president can make. It exists for when the justice system genuinely gets something wrong, not to be handed out by the hundreds. The President of the United States is not a king. What Trump is doing is an abuse of power, plain and simple. I’m fighting for a constitutional amendment to put limits on it, because no president should be able to do this. Not now. Not ever.
