I just returned from a Congressional delegation to Nigeria with House Appropriations. While there, we visited Benue State. We met with Bishops Anagbe and Dugu and Tor Tiv. We met with suffering IDPs who are all Christians. They are forced to live in camps that are regularly attacked by Fulani Islamic radicals. We heard heartbreaking stories from survivors of this horrific genocidal campaign committed by the Fulani, including a woman who was forced to watch as five of her children were killed. I've never seen anything like it. It will stay with me the rest of my life. I am working on a report to President Donald J. Trump that will outline a path forward to work with the Nigerian government in a coordinated and cooperative manner to end the slaughter of innocent Christians in the Middle Belt and stop the ongoing terrorist threat in the Northeast. How many more Christians must be murdered in Nigeria before the world acts? President Donald J. Trump has made clear that the killing of Christians in Nigeria must end, and there are clear steps the Nigerian government can take to show it is ready to prioritize keeping its own people safe, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ. Grateful to House Foreign Affairs Committee Majority and Chairman Chris Smith for having me join this important hearing on the horrific persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

The persecution and slaughter of our brothers and sisters in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ must end NOW.

It was great to visit the welding program at James Rumsey Technical Institute in Berkeley County, West Virginia. I started my career as a welder, and it was great to get back behind the welding shield! As President Trump works to reindustrialize America, skilled workers, like welders, will be essential to building the new American economy. We need YOU to be the next generation of welders who forge our nation’s future 👨‍🏭
