Today, I visited the ICE detention center where the men who were with Lorenzo Salgado Araujo are being held. I heard their story firsthand. Their account is completely different from what ICE told the public. It broke my heart. I am angry, and I will not stop fighting for the truth and justice for Lorenzo.

For 35 years, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo built his life here. He was a husband, a father, a worker, and had no criminal history. Then he left for work and was killed by ICE. His family is grieving. Our community is furious. We are demanding a transparent and independent investigation and ICE out of our neighborhoods now. We cannot allow the facts and evidence to be buried.

We’ve got a message for the Trump White House: It's the Constitution, stupid. Birthright citizenship is a Constitutional right, clearly articulated in the 14th amendment. Over the years, the Supreme Court has upheld this right. No executive order, no political stunt, and no fear-mongering can erase that. We’ll fight back in the courts and in Congress, and we will win!
