Imagine how low IQ the average Tiktok user must be for this kind of marketing to be viable.

Gaming YouTubers have fully replaced game journalists, complete with all the same tired braindead cliches and non-sequiturs. "Aw, Bungie ADMITTED they reused some world geometry in Halo 1, that proves it's Le Bad!" We'll just ignore all of gaming history then, no one has ever reused assets and still made a good game.

From what I'm seeing of the new Bond gameplay it all looks very on rails. "Oh, a catwalk fell down, press jump to trigger an automated cinematic jump across. Quick, get in this boat with a gun you can't manually aim. Now hold W for two minutes." Very disappointing.

Nick is wrong, we live in a very cruel time, this subject was discussed to death before most people had ever even heard of Woke. "Empathy" is a mask for imposing upon and repressing you. It creates an illusion of "mutual respect" designed to stifle dissent. What's even worse is that actual, genuine empathy is virtually nonexistent now. It has been completely replaced by this performative form of empathy that doesn't seek to understand or elevate people and instead only nags and suffocates them.

My intuition about Metroid Prime 4 was completely correct, open world ruins another game it doesn't belong in. You would have to be totally mindless to defend this. (No, I haven't played it & didn't need to to know it would be shit. It's called discernment, not everyone has it)

Not usually my thing, but you really can't argue with this.

Video game discourse has fallen so far that we have Yahtzee describing rudely-named difficulty settings as "ableist" and whining about how "patronizing" designers are. He suggests adaptive difficulty as the best solution because "no one has to see it." What if I specifically want the game to be harder, period? Why should difficulty be a self-tuning black box hidden away from the player? This is just another step towards making games into guided amusement park tours. If I'm stuck on a difficult section or boss, I don't want it automatically toned down, I want to get better at the game and beat it. He even brings up DMC games as an example of being "too patronizing" because it doesn't give you an easy mode unless you die enough times, but you know what? The higher difficulties are locked at the start, too. Some of us would say that's patronizing. Why shouldn't I be able to choose Hard mode right away?

Beyond obvious at this point that "readily convertible to a machine gun" isn't an enforceable or reasonable standard and never was. Forced reset triggers don't fit the legal meaning of "machine gun," but these are the results. It doesn't even require permanent modification:

Billie Eilish is walking proof that violence against women was a good thing. Not, like, real violence, just the Sean Connery method.

The blandest, most mid third-person shooters from 7th gen had more engaging gunplay than this. Look at how the enemies just magdump on you and somehow it all misses and does nothing. They flank you, but just stand there waiting for you to notice them before actually shooting.

The Halo 2 BR wasn't a hitscan weapon, it just had higher projectile velocity than the H3 BR. And actually, none of the weapons in Bungie Halo were hitscan. Having such high velocity certainly made the H2 BR easier to use, but H3 made it more balanced (it was still very powerful)
