When Orbán lost the 2026 election, a lot of right-wing Europe was genuinely gutted. And let’s be real, whenever Ursula von der Leyen starts smiling at a new leader, we all know what that usually means: another EU puppet incoming. But Péter Magyar has actually turned out to be a bit of a pleasant surprise so far. I don’t agree with everything he’s about or doing, but he does seem to be holding the line when it comes to protecting Hungary from immigration. He’s reinforcing the border fence, rejecting the EU migration pact and quotas outright, and they’re sending non-European guest workers home starting June 1st. Then there’s some not so great things, but the big question now is whether he can actually unlock those frozen EU funds without selling out Hungarian sovereignty.. Because everyone knows the EU doesn’t hand out money for free, they pay for obedience, nothing less. What’s your take?
