Meet “Prince William,” a 3.8-metre (12 feet, 6 inches) saltwater crocodile and the 300th crocodile tagged through our world-leading research project on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve. We named him in recognition of Prince William’s remarkable commitment to conservation and to mark the halfway point of The Earthshot Prize. Utilising the very same techniques that my dad, Steve Irwin, devised this croc is fitted with a small tracker that will provide a decade of invaluable data - all to benefit the conservation of this species and its ecosystem. It’s an incredible milestone, and a reminder of how research can contribute to conservation over generations.🌿🐊

Hosting Australia’s night of nights! Thank you for joining me for the Logies, live and dangerous from Sydney… we danced, we had a lot of laughs, and I got to introduce you all to some of my mates 🐍 I’m so proud of the creativity, representation, inclusivity and passion that Aussie TV represents. And I’m proud to bring the message of conservation to a new stage!

One of the smallest crocodiles we found on this year’s crocodile research trip up to remote croc territory. Big or small, each individual is crucial in building a scientific framework of how these secretive animals work in the wild. Ultimately, this research is to help conserve them.

We found the giant! This big boy was fitted with a tracker that will provide 10 years of valuable data to better understand how to conserve this species. It’s all part of a croc research project that my mum and dad started, where we use the very same techniques Dad devised to catch and release these modern-day dinosaurs!

To be awarded the ‘Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter’ was an unexpected and greatly appreciated honour at the Logies. Amongst my hosting duties, I certainly was taken by surprise, and I mean every word. It is a privilege to do what I do, and to spread an important message.

Back up in remote northern Australia catching and tagging crocodiles as part of a groundbreaking telemetry study spanning over two decades with the University of Queensland. Using the same catch and release methods that my dad devised we’re able to attach remarkable GPS and acoustic trackers to gain a deep insight into the secretive world of the crocodile. It’s all to better understand how to protect this vital apex predator!
