Yes, that was space junk spotted in our bay area skies this evening… video by Jamie Li spotted from San Mateo. As a general rule: meteors, move, much faster and usually end with a flash of light, the orbiting space junk tends to move more slowly and can be easily followed across the sky as the materials burn up on reentry. 9/25/2025 NBC Bay Area

The earthquakes continue in #SanRamon with another 4.0 earthquake for the second night in a row, followed by some smaller earthquake since 6:31 PM. This region continues to be very active with the largest earthquakes of the current swarm sequence occurring in the last two days. Previous swarms have lasted months in the same general area from Alamo to the north to Dublin in the south. 12/20/2025 NBC Bay Area

However, keep in mind near harbors and inlets along the coast wave energy can be amplified to locally higher levels (ex Santa Cruz Harbor for similar sized events in the past) and ongoing unusual wave and nearshore current activity is likely to persist into Wednesday.
