Learning hemodynamics is hard. I created a simulator that let's you titrate vasopressors, inotropes, vasodilators, and fluids across different hemodynamic states. How can I make this even more realistic? Still some hemodynamics responses to optimize. Try it and let me know👇

Version 2 of our ShockCalcs hemodynamics simulator is live. I've refined the physiology a ton, added new meds, and also a real-time Frank Starling curve that responds to fluids + vasopressors. Check it out (link in reply), and reply here with feedback on how to improve further!

(1/3) The hemodynamic interfaces paradigm proposed by Philippe Rola et al. is probably the most comprehensive paradigm for assessing shock. Not going to lie, its a bit complicated. I comprehensive calculator with theory and practice tips to help you understand the interfaces as part of a NEW project ShockCalcs👇

(1/3) Blakemore insertions for variceal bleeds might seem daunting but typically are straightforward.. Until they aren't. This is the BEST trick I have seen for challenging Blakemore insertions. Use a bougie to help make the tip of the Blakemore more rigid in the posterior oropharynx. This was filmed at a workshop for the #HR2023 conference - come hang out with us again in May 2025 (registration in thread) Here are some more Blakemore tips 🧵
