Anyone remember who the spokesman was for HIV/AIDS prevention in Japan in the 90's? Seriously, it was none other than Atsushi Onita. Dead serious, a man known for using razor blades to cut himself open, running into exploding barbed wire and jump into lakes with sewer remains ended up being the spokesman. I have zero memory of this, but on a December 1986 episode of WWF Challenge, Kamala put Billy Anderson (trainer of Ultimate Warrior, Sting, Louie Spicolli and others) on a stretcher, and while they were going back to the locker room, Kamala runs into King Kong Bundy (with Bobby Heenan) and they have a stare off. Now I'm totally curious if these two ever wrestled because of this

It's crazy looking back, that there was a whole world outside of WWF TV that 99% of us never knew about. The NWO Japan era was so crazy for the guys involved. A couple of them confirmed to me, they were not only getting paid by WCW, but also taking a second paycheck by New Japan when doing these tours (it was eventually noticed by WCW and stopped). But these looked like crazy times, especially having entire storylines that were never discussed on WCW TV. Here's a promo with NWO Sting, Masa Chono, Buff Bagwell, and Scott Norton from March 1997

Once in Minnesota for Pro Wrestling America, there was an interview being done by Jerry Lynn, talking about an upcoming match against the Lightning Kid. Then, Kid came to confront Lynn but had Shocker and the Golden Idol attack Lynn from behind, and eventually hold Lynn in place where Kid was able to cut his hair. Side story was that Kid actually sold the hair at future events to fans and make a decent amount. Would love to know if any fans of Pro Wrestling America still have that hair from Jerry Lynn 34 years later @BruceFacente Sean Waltman Jerry Lynn

One heel turn that doesn't get talked about enough is the Barry Windham one that led to him joining the Four Horsemen. Him and Lex Luger are challenging Tully and Arn for the tag titles, and Lex is bloodied and isn't able to tag in to help Barry. Barry gets sick of it and destroys Lex, but afterwards, we have the Midnight Rider going to the heel locker room to confront Windham

Here's my yearly post on this, hoping some expert out there knows more information on this. Here's Rick Rude's entrance at the Fukuoka Dome in May 1994, his final match ever vs Sting (he takes a really bad dive here that messes up his back, and he has to go on Lloyd's of London and never returns in the ring). But my question here is, WHO IS LADY LOVE? She only appeared with Rick in Japan, and never in the States. Anyone know who she is? Any help is appreciated

After the match, Inoki was given one of the greatest sendoffs in history, with everyone from Bob Backlund, Eric Bischoff, Tatsumi Fujinami, Akira Maeda, Seiji Sakaguchi, Riki Choshu, and so many more presenting him with flowers. During the 1999 NJPW Tokyo Dome show, one of the matches was Kensuke Sasaki vs Atsushi Onita. Remember Onita was an FMW star and not New Japan. Because of the amount of times he had told fans he was retiring and came back less than a year later, he "earned" the nickname "Mr. Liar", and while loved by the fans that attended FMW, the fans here at the Tokyo Dome had the opposite reaction. He was nearly 100% hated here, fans wanted to see Sasaki destroy Onita. Here's the epic entrance from Onita (this gives me goosebumps every single time)

There's this myth that goes around that all Japanese fans are quiet and polite and only react with clapping at pro wrestling events. Nothing could be further from the truth. Atsushi Onita was so damn hated in early 1999 in New Japan, he brought out the worst in these fans. Here before Masa Chono comes out to the ring for a six man, Onita hits the ring first and this is a sight to see. He is absolutely pelted with cups and everything not tied to the ground. Once Chono hits the ring, it continues with Onita getting the better of him
