Today, 🇷🇼Rwanda joined UN member states in observing the International Day of #UNPeacekeepers. Since joining #UNPeacekeeping missions in 2004, 🇷🇼 has diligently contributed to global peace and security - currently standing as the 2nd largest troop contributing country. At today’s #UNPeacekeepers ceremony, two Dag Hammarskjöld Medals were posthumously awarded to Sergeant Major Fiston Murwanashyaka and Cpl Eliakim Niyitegeka. Received by Ambassador. MartinNgoga and Military Attaché Col. Deo Mutabazi, the medals reflect 🇷🇼peacekeepers’ unwavering dedication in protecting vulnerable communities beyond Rwanda’s borders.
