Major bombings have been reported throughout most major cities around the county, with the heaviest concentrations of bombings taking place in Tehran. In response, Iranian forces have conducted missile strikes targeting American bases in Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and several other locations. Missile impacts have been observed at Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait, Al Udeid Airbase in Qatar, Al Dhafra Airbase in the UAE, Muwaffaq Airbase in Jordan, and at the headquarters of 5th Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. Missile impacts were also reported in Israel, mostly in the port city of Haifa at the moment. In Iraq, the Kataib Hezbollah al-Nujaba group announced that they will begin insurgent attacks on American forces throughout the region, to include the targeting of American civilians working at American-run oil facilities throughout Iraq. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: President Trump posted an 8-minute video to his Truth Social page, explaining the rationale for the war. In the video, President Trump ordered all Iranian forces to lay down their arms and surrender, while urging all Iranian civilians to stay in their homes while the bombings are conducted. President Trump then urged civilians to rise up and overthrown their government. Beyond these basic details, not much else is known regarding the overall end-goal of this war, however bombings have continued constantly throughout the past few hours. Due to the strategic implication of this press conference, here is a slightly longer clip from a different part of the conference that adds in more context...and also makes Gov. Walz's position more clear. I also tried to clean up the audio a bit at the beginning so that the reporter's *original* question can be discerned slightly more clearly. Originally the reporter asked the following: "Just to clarify the intention of the National Guard, is there any chance that National Guard could be deployed against federal agents to protect Minnesotans?" -> At this point Gov. Walz gestured for the reporter to repeat her question as he could not hear her. -> She then changed the question entirely and asked: "Has the Minnesota National Guard *ever been* deployed against federal agents to protect Minnesotans, and if not, (unintelligible) what happened today?" The clip attached below is the full answer to this question from Gov. Walz and right at the end, he directly states quite clearly that his National Guard forces have been given the WARNO to prepare for deployment to "protect Minnesotans" from a "rogue federal agent". Can't get much more clear than that.

//The Wire//2300Z January 26, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: VIOLENCE ESCALATES IN MINNEAPOLIS AS COUNTER-ICE GROUPS CONTINUE TO OPERATE FREELY. UNREST EMERGES IN MAINE AS ANTI-ICE PROTESTS CONTINUE.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -HomeFront- Maine: Anti-ICE demonstrations have begun to increase in Portland, which have continued in the same manner as observed in Minneapolis. Friday night, activists conducted disruption/noise-making efforts outside several hotels in Portland, which were suspected of housing ICE agents. Minnesota: The situation in Minneapolis has continued to deteriorate, as riots became more violent and more organized over the weekend. In the vicinity of the shooting site along Nicollet Avenue, civil unrest remained constant throughout the day of the shooting, with many different roadblocks being emplaced on the cardinal points surrounding the site. Similarly, every business on this street that had outdoor decorations, dumpsters, or anything else, found their property stolen so as to emplace the ANTIFA-style roadblocks that are customary of that organization. These roadblocks prevented the free flow of traffic, and remained in place until local police cleared the roadway in the early hours of the next morning. Throughout Saturday night, instances of vandalism were reported, such as graffiti being spray painted at a Pizza restaurant on the corner of 27th and Nicollet. This restaurant is currently abandoned (and is therefore undefended Key Terrain) after closing down last year. Across the street from the Black Sheep Pizza Reference Point, two armed representatives of the Socialist Rifle Association (SRA) were observed posted up at the intersection of Nicollet and E 27th Street, conducting a short Presence Patrol operation. Sunday morning, Area Denial operations were also noted around the city at large. At least one individual was arrested after emplacing homemade caltrops on the roadway, which were set up as vehicle obstacles in areas where federal forces were conducting patrols. On the Civil Unrest front, Sunday evening riots were reported at area hotels, which have also become increasingly more violent. Several situations have been reported involving federal agents being swarmed. Overnight, federal Division of Prisons officers were attacked and wounded by rioters who attacked them at the Hilton Home2 Suites east of the University. Concerning the composition and disposition of other forces, National Guard troops under the command of Gov. Walz have established a position adjacent to the Whipple Federal building, which is serving as a support site for protesters. Over the weekend, Walz's soldiers provided materiel aid to the protest group outside the Whipple Federal building, which took the form of handing out free hot chocolate and donuts to the demonstrators. This was mostly a squad-sized effort for PR purposes, and not a persistently occupied position. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: In addition to the tactical situation on the ground in Minneapolis, one of the group chats used to coordinate the unrest activities was leaked over the weekend. This group chat is being used to dox and harass ICE agents, plan violence at riots, and coordinate and liaise with ICEWatch and Defend612 cells throughout the city. This Signal chat leak also identified several businesses which are specifically working with ICEWatch to host space at their venues for Observation Posts to be stood up. Most restaurants and storefronts in Minneapolis have signs on their doors banning ICE from entering, but the active steps to provide materiel aid to ICEWatch personnel is another point of escalation that has been occurring for some time, without much notice. In terms of other forces on the ground, local law enforcement and National Guard forces are either being ordered to stand down and not assist federal agents, or are being given menial taskings far away from the actual conflict zones, and therefore are combat ineffective. For context, Gov. Walz has also ordered his troops to change their uniform posture for identification purposes. Forces under the command of Gov. Walz are wearing Yellow Vests, separating them out from any Federal troops that may be deployed to the area. More broadly, rioters have transitioned out of the phase of only causing civil unrest, and are getting more powerful and organized as directed by the State. Politicians at the city and state level are doing everything in their power to stoke up the violence, which now includes directly leading and liaising with the groups responsible for the unrest, as indicated by the Signal chat leaks. It is this organization that sets the Minneapolis situation apart from other instances of civil unrest, and it is also why the use of Lethal Force will continually be applied when all other options to control the situation have failed. Federal agents cannot (and should not) be expected to allow themselves to be dragged by a crowd and beaten to death in the streets, and if there is a reasonable perception of that being a possibility the use of force will be justified. Therefore, more small arms engagements are a certainty as long as the attacks on ICE agents are being directed by groups linked to State officials. However, even though Minneapolis is grabbing all of the headlines right now, other efforts are underway in other areas. Large-scale protests are growing in nearly every state, from Utah to Georgia. Due to the increased ICE operations, Maine is likely to be host to an elevated level of unrest for some time as demonstrators use the same Minneapolis playbook in other areas. As such, many other states are likely to witness increased protest activity by proxy, as long as the situation in Minneapolis remains hot. Rioters have clashed with ICE agents several times over the weekend, at times gaining the upper hand as federal forces remain spread thin. Throughout Monday afternoon, into this morning, various stages of kinectivity have been reported, ranging from full-blown riots, to the more standard noise-making protests observed so far during this conflict. Analyst Comment: This afternoon, several detainees were released from the compound to the cheers of the crowds, but the context for these releases has not been made clear. Either way, the crowd is interpreting these releases as a victory. Missouri: Yesterday evening a mass shooting was reported at a grocery store in Pleasant Hill. Local authorities state that one suspect entered the parking lot of the store, exited his vehicle, and began firing on shoppers in the parking lot. One citizen was killed exiting the store, and one employee of the store was wounded while moving carts back inside the store. The suspect has been identified as Allen Prince, who attempted to take his own life at the scene, but failed and is expected to survive. Analyst Comment: So far, there is no clear understanding of why this individual chose to conduct this attack, nor why this venue was selected as the target. More details are expected as the investigation continues. Washington: This morning a major explosion and subsequent fire was reported at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Company in Longview. Local authorities state that a chemical-based implosion took place after a large tank ruptured and collapsed in on itself this morning. Following the initial event, a major fire broke out at the facility which destroyed much of the compound. Concerning casualties, several employees were killed during the blast, and around a dozen others experienced severe chemical burns. The number of fatalities resulting from this incident has not yet been confirmed by authorities. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: So far this week, the situation in the Middle East remains as clear as mud, as what's happening in the Strait remains hard to confirm. This morning, claims circulated on social media by various media outlets stating that during the night the United States attempted to restart Project Freedom under the cover of darkness. Throughout the afternoon, other claims emerged stating the opposite, that the US has not re-ignited Project Freedom. Regardless of how it is defined or labeled, evidence does indicate that one Greek-owned supertanker transited the Strait overnight. However, a few hours later, the UKMTO reported that a vessel had been struck with an unknown munition in the Gulf of Oman. Right now it's not clear as to if this is the same vessel that transited, or if this was a different ship. It is also not clear as to if this Greek supertanker was actually escorted by the United States, or merely guided over the radio (after paying the Iranian toll), or if the US was involved in this saga at all. These details might not ever be known with any certainty, but the situation remains tense all around as diplomatic efforts look less and less likely to come about anytime soon. The United States might indeed have attempted to sneak out a tanker or two once again, to have some justification for saying that the Iranians don't have control over the Strait...even if these vessels that have been "helped" by the US Navy might have actually been granted permission by the Iranians. This detail is not known, but it would be imperative to figure out as the distribution of power in the Middle East hangs in the balance. More practically for the American people and western Europe, the global fuel crisis continues as before. Following the truth coming out of no peace deal being on the table (along with the kinetic targeting overnight) oil prices rose to above $100 per barrel once again this morning. As we approach the end of May, it is important to remember that the high gas prices that are observed today...are actually artificially low. The United States has been draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) at an increasing rate since mid-March. This month, the US drained an additional 29 million barrels, which comes after draining another 20 million barrels in April. Similarly, China is also draining their own strategic oil reserves, and has cut their import of petroleum sharply with some estimates suggesting China has cut their imports by about 20% over the past few weeks. Now that the US and others are dipping into their strategic reserves at an increasing rate just to keep oil at roughly $100 per barrel, it's not clear when that supply will eventually dwindle enough to not be able to cover the true impacts the war is having on the energy sector. Last night Kuwait reported attacks being conducted by several drones. Statements of condemnation were issued by government officials attributing the attacks to Iran, however the Iranians claim that they haven't conducted any attack. Separately, American logistical resupply efforts continue, with a notable increase in military flights moving cargo into the Middle East. Merchant traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains severely restricted, with a total of 12x vessels (including local traffic) transiting the waterway since the ceasefire came into effect two days ago. This afternoon Kevin Hassett, the Director of the National Economic Council, indicated that the timeline for expecting the Strait of Hormuz to be fully opened is roughly two months. -HomeFront- Washington D.C. - Last night First Lady Melania Trump hosted a surprise press conference, in which she read a statement pertaining to the Jeffrey Epstein network. She confirmed that she had once emailed Ghislaine Maxwell, but denied that a relationship existed. She also called on Congress to act regarding the Epstein investigation, specifically via the testimony of victims against Epstein's network. California: Early this morning the residence of Sam Altman (the CEO of OpenAI) was targeted by an arsonist who threw a Molotov device at the front gate of his residence. The suspect initially fled on foot but was arrested soon after the incident. The suspect has not yet been identified. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: In Ireland, protests continue as before nationwide with most major roadways remaining shut down sporadically for a few hours each day due to protests. Whitegate Refinery remains a main focal point for protests which have become substantial in size. However, under the surface of the protests, tensions are bubbling and in Ireland no political issue is ever as simple as it seems at face value. One complicating factor which has contributed to the growing civil unrest has been statements made by Ireland's Deputy Police Commissioner Shawna Coxon, who has been the face of the police response to the demonstrations. Her statements themselves have been fairly standard by European standards, threatening all number of consequences for the protesters if they don't open up roadways. However, one delicate contention that isn't being conveyed by the media is not necessarily what is being said, but who is saying it. Coxon herself is not Irish...she's Canadian. Having built up a policing career in Toronto under Trudeau's government, she was instrumental in the now infamous crackdown on Canadian truckers years ago, who protested for different reasons but formed similar networks as the Irish are now forming. Now, she's the Deputy Police Commissioner for Operations in Ireland. Considering that a huge part of these protests is now becoming more of an Irish nationalism effort, what seems like a very small detail is actually becoming more important. A Canadian (who does not have an Irish accent) with a degree in mass surveillance wielding power over ethnic Irishmen is not being taken very well. As a result, what started as a small protest about taxes on agricultural diesel is becoming a much more widespread series of issues. Considering that as of this afternoon no progress has been made to address the concerns of demonstrators, this could lead to a much more substantial state of unrest over the next few days. ARMY DEPLOYED IN IRELAND TO CLEAR FUEL CRISIS PROTESTERS FROM ROADWAYS AS DEMONSTRATIONS SWEEP THE NATION.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: Around the region, missile and drone attacks in GCC states have ceased, with the UAE confirming that this was the first day where no munitions were fired at them from Iran. Last night Iranian forces effectively closed the Strait again, as indicated by recordings of radio transmissions from the Iranians warning tanker crews against attempting to transit the waterway without their permission. Strait of Hormuz: This morning IRGC-N forces published a nautical chart outlining the area in the Strait where they have laid naval mines. The number of mines laid remains unknown, and this document is the first acknowledgement that minelaying operations have been carried out within the Strait. Ireland: Over the past few days, protests related to the ongoing fuel crisis have been growing. These protests have largely taken the form of farmers and delivery drivers parking their vehicles on roadways and tram lines, to block the passage of other vehicles. This morning, Prime Minister Micheál Martin confirmed that the Irish Army is being deployed throughout the nation to remove the protesters vehicles from the roadways. Analyst Comment: The fuel crisis in Ireland is a complicated endeavor and it's not entirely just about fuel costs at this point. Initially, protesters primarily have been demonstrating against rising fuel costs brought on by the war in the Middle East. A few days ago this escalated when protesters took the accelerationist approach, and blocked the entrance to Whitegate Refinery in Cork Harbor to make the price of fuel go even higher and thus make the issue everyone's problem. As a secondary result of blocking the entry/exit of vehicles from Ireland's only refinery, roughly 40% of Ireland's gasoline supply was cut off in an instant, and prices not only skyrocketed, but now the sheer supply itself is also running out. The tertiary effect of this effort has spiraled into a larger movement that is no longer solely about fuel costs, but also about general corruption and anti-government sentiments. This has in turn resulted in other protesters taking to the roadways around the country to stop traffic, and effectively compound all of the previous demonstration tactics, which has now resulted in the Army being called up to clear roadways and restore some sort of order. -HomeFront- North Carolina: Yesterday the FBI arrested one former DoD civilian employee on charges of leaking classified information to a journalist. Courtney Williams (a former employee of U.S. Special Operations Command) was arrested after allegedly conveying classified material to Seth Harp for his book about alleged drug trafficking and criminal enterprises within JSOC. Williams appeared as a named source for some of the material in the piece, which allegedly included classified material. Analyst Comments: Contradicting media reports on the topic, the press release for this arrest confirms that this has nothing to do with the current conflict in Iran. Many media sources are claiming that this individual was the person who leaked details of the F-15 which was shot down over Iran a few days ago, however this is blatantly false. The DoJ states that the leaks of classified information occurred between 2022 and 2025, and contained information that Williams had access to when she worked for a clandestine military unit between 2010 and 2016. The DoJ has not made any comment regarding any arrest made specifically in conjunction with the current war in Iran. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: At the moment, Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz. There is no US Navy presence to provide Freedom of Navigation, and the Iranians have threatened to destroy any vessel that attempts to pass without their permission. The potential confirmation of sea mines being laid in the Strait adds another complicating factor as if the Iranian's claims are true, someone is going to have to demine this region at some point. Doctrinally speaking, the chief concern with minefields is that even if no mines are laid, the accusation alone is enough to prevent anyone from entering the area until clearance operations have been conducted. Any vessel can be a minesweeper exactly one time, but most insurance companies are unlikely to support such endeavors for the vessels that they underwrite policies for. Conveniently, the safe route suggested by the IRGCN (to avoid the sea mines they have laid) takes commercial vessels through their waters via the Larak Island tollbooth route. So far, only a handful of vessels have transited the Strait, all of which used the Larak Island route and passed with Iranian permission. //The Wire//2300Z May 08, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: UNITED ARAB EMIRATES CONDUCTS STRIKES IN IRAN, IRANIAN RETALIATION STRIKES TARGET DUBAI AND SHIPPING IN THE STRAIT. USA INCREASES TARGETING AND INTERDICTION OPERATIONS IN THE GULF OF OMAN. MAJOR FIRE REPORTED AT REFINERY IN LOUISIANA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: Overnight, multiple targeting efforts took place in the Strait of Hormuz. The United Arab Emirates conducted multiple airstrikes in Iran, targeting facilities on Qeshm Island as well as the port of Bandar Abbas. This attack was reportedly conducted in conjunction with the United States (or with some US support), and resulted in Iranian counterattacks on the UAE as several drones and missile attacks were reported in Dubai. Officials did not state how many munitions hit their targets, however "3 moderate injuries" were reported on the ground in the UAE as a result of this first wave of attacks. As the fighting continued throughout the night, the UAE traded bombs and missiles with Iran for a few hours, and several merchant ships in the Strait were also struck. American warships struck a total of three merchant vessels throughout the region (possibly to include in the Strait itself) overnight, all of which were empty tanker vessels attempting to run the American blockade to onload a cargo of oil from Iranian ports. Similarly, the Iranians also reportedly hit several merchant vessels, though which ones remain unknown at the moment. After the shooting subsided in the early hours of this morning, the Iranians seized a tanker in the Gulf of Oman. The M/T OCEAN KOI (IMO: 9255933) was boarded by the IRGCN for allegedly "taking advantage of regional conditions to damage and disrupt Iran’s oil exports and the interests of the Iranian nation". Analyst Comment: It's not clear as to why this vessel was boarded, as this is one of Iran's own shadow tankers which has been on the sanctions list for many years, and has previously helped export Iran's oil in violation of international sanctions. Her most recent name is the M/V JIN LI and last night she was inbound to the Persian Gulf to take on a cargo of Iranian oil at Iran's own ports. At the moment, the best guess is that the Iranians might have discovered that the oil was going to an unauthorized end customer and thus conducted the boarding. However it's also possible that during the events of the night, the Iranians needed to assert dominance, so they took the only ship that was within their reach, which happened to be one of their own. -HomeFront- Louisiana: This afternoon a major fire was reported at the PBF Chalmette Refinery. The cause of the fire has not been released, and as of this report firefighters are attempting to bring the fire under control. This facility is a comparatively smaller refinery that produces almost 200,000 bbl/d and in 2021, $550 million was invested in this facility to covert an older unit to produce diesel. Analyst Comment: Fires at refineries are more common than one might think, but this is the second fire at a refinery in the same area in a week's time. A few miles to the west, Shell reported a fire at their Norco facility last week, which was the result of a gas leak. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: At this point, it is hard to argue that the ceasefire is still in effect in the Middle East, but that definition probably doesn't matter at this point. Over the past 48 hours, multiple offensive actions have taken place throughout the region. Nevertheless, as CJCS Gen. Caine said yesterday, these attacks are "below the threshold" for the United States to consider the ceasefire violated. The effect of this policy is two-fold: For one, gas prices don't spike by admitting the war is back on, and two, Oman and the UAE (the nations getting hit by the Iranians) are rather slighted by attacks on their homeland not being considered serious enough to warrant US intervention. From the perspective of the Emirs, their entire motivation for siding with the US and allowing the use of their territory...is for their own defense. Their oil terminals (the only reason for their wealth), getting hit by the Iranians, and the US saying that this is not important enough for us to even acknowledge it as a ceasefire violation (much less retaliate), is not going over super well, and was probably the motivating factor for the UAE conducting strikes in Iran overnight. CONCERNS WITHIN TRUCKING COMMUNITY GROW AS FOCUS ON TRAFFIC INCIDENTS INCREASES.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -HomeFront- Arkansas: A truck driver was arrested after driving the wrong way across the Memphis-Arkansas Bridge yesterday, causing a large traffic disruption. Traffic was halted for some time as the driver was detained and his semi-truck removed from the roadway. Analyst Comment: This case is interesting as this was very likely an intentional act. The driver, who was driving for Raj Transport, had to be forcibly removed from the truck's cab at gunpoint by police. There is also a bit of confusion regarding this case, as multiple individuals have been arrested under similar circumstances, with nearly the same name, over the past few weeks. Two weeks ago, another Indian driver was arrested in the same area. The driver's booking details revealed his name to be Harvinder Singh, not to be confused with the Harjinder Singh who caused the deaths of three people in Florida two weeks ago. In this case, the Arkansas Singh was highly intoxicated at the time of his arrest, with a BAC of 0.15%. So far, the wrong-way driver from yesterday has not been identified. As a brief summary, the following is a description of recent events which may be confusing due to the similarity of the names of those involved, and the circumstances of each incident: Harjinder Singh: Arrested on August 18th in California after causing the deaths of three on the Florida Turnpike. Minnesota: Two mass shootings have been reported in Minneapolis over the past 24 hours. Yesterday a drive-by shooting was reported in the vicinity of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School on 4th Avenue. 1x person was killed and 6x others wounded during the attack. The suspect has not been identified and remains at large. This morning, a separate mass shooting was reported at the Annunciation Church on W 54th Street. One gunman targeted the Church during the all-school morning Mass for the Catholic School co-located with the Church. Local authorities report a total of 2x children killed, and 17x others wounded during the engagement. The suspect has been identified as Robin Westman (formerly Robert Westman), who was reported deceased at the scene. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: At the moment, all evidence points to this Church shooting not being a random act, but a deliberate and targeted act of terrorism. A manifesto created by the murderer was posted online shortly before the attack, which (along with other content) confirms the shooter was a mentally ill transgender man who attacked his old Church. It is usually best to wait a few days for information to settle down after a major shooting. However in this case it is important to be aware that while the crime scene was still active, gun control activists were observed demonstrating at the scene, harassing parents who were trying to pick up their children from the school after the shooting. Horrific murder scenes are already a nightmare to manage...staging areas have to be established for reuniting families, media has to be kept from contaminating the crime scene, and further security concerns must be considered as well (just in case of secondary attacks). Any time a mass shooting like this occurs, it takes great skill to (on the fly) manage the scene effectively and efficiently, while also maintaining a respectful and considerate response. However, when activists begin harassing grieving parents, a powder keg emerges and there's no telling what might happen. This was made worse by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey making statements that many have perceived to be in poor taste (at best), or blasphemous (at worst). Even the shooter's mother had to find out that her son was the shooter from journalists who called their home phone number to harass them. Consequently, in this highly-emotionally-charged environment, the response so far has largely been to throw gasoline on the fire to make people as angry as possible, further increasing tensions in an already tough situation. The media coverage of this attack being even more appalling than normal hasn't improved the situation either. Vyacheslav Leontyev was discovered deceased after falling from his 5th-story apartment window, with local authorities stating that he jumped after experiencing a nervous breakdown. -HomeFront- USA: Controversy has mounted following the publishing of FARA documents pertaining to surveillance operations at Christian churches throughout the western United States. Last week, the official Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs partnered with (or created themselves, the ownership data is sketchy) an LLC in the United States by the name of "Show Faith By Works, LLC". As this company is directly controlled by a foreign government, it was required to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). In the 86 page registration form, the organizers self-describe this company as being formed to carry out the "largest Geofencing and targeted Christian Digital Campaign ever". This would be accomplished by geofencing most churches in the region and displaying targeted ads to Christians specifically with reference to the October 7th attacks while they are actively attending a church service (per the paperwork that was filed). -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Everyone is strongly encouraged to read the documentation yourself, as linked below on the official US government website. Overall, what this means in the clearest possible terms, is that if you are a Christian who brings your cell phone to church in the western United States, the government of Israel is openly and publicly surveilling your phone and your exact GPS coordinates. If anyone did not surmise such before, this paperwork confirms beyond all doubt that this is occurring. As a reminder, this is not a private company...this is the actual Israeli government purchasing analytics data from American service providers. As such Christians who bring their phones into Church during worship times, will very likely receive targeted advertisements to encourage them to think a certain way about the October 7th attacks while in Church, as the paperwork specifically states that smartphones owned by Christians will be targeted during worship times. The documentation detailing this campaign also is not limited to Churches...the GPS tracking merely starts once a Christian enters into the geofenced area around a Church. If a Christian enters a church perimeter, but later leaves...the surveillance of their GPS position will continue. The geofencing barriers being placed around churches are merely to identify which smartphones belong to Christians. If a person's phone enters the church grounds on a certain time on Sunday morning, this device can be associated with Christianity, and once that association is made, targeted ads (and further surveillance) can be undertaken at a later time and place. Most analytics data that is available for purchase on the free market is anonymized...buyers can't tell what your phone number or name is. But based on the context of a person being physically located inside a church, this is good enough for Israeli governmental needs when it comes to this information campaign. It is this association that is important...the aggregation of the geographic context of one's position is concerning. Using these geofencing parameters, this campaign is not really about serving ads while a person is in church...it's a mass database of Christians. All of this is allegedly being done to push pro-Israel propaganda, as openly admitted by their own documentation. They even put together many powerpoint slides detailing the plans of the campaign, as well as a list of allegedly every single church that has been targeted for this operation. All things considered, the only reason we know about this effort is because the actual government of Israel created this company...if it were instead a shell company or an "American owned" entity, no one would know this surveillance is taking place and service providers would happily sell their customers' data to the highest bidder secretly. Foreign governments target American citizens for advertising purposes all the time, usually on topics like tourism. What makes this campaign worthy of mention is that it is attempting to be the largest in history, and it's targeting Americans purely and solely based on their faith. Furthermore, considering Israel's history with electronic devices, and the nature of this alleged ad campaign specifically to target Christians for their faith and church attendance, there are much wider concerns than a simple ad being displayed on one's social media timeline. The same foreign government that exploded devices in the pockets of their enemies is now openly and specifically targeting Christian smartphones...and the US government is fine with it as long as they fill out a form first. When American citizens have to think about putting their phone in a Faraday bag before they pull in to the church parking lot on Sunday, just so that a foreign government doesn't track them back to their home afterward...this is a problem. Openly paying clergymen money to specifically read a script spouting the talking points of a nationstate leaves very little uncertainty as to what the overall goals of this endeavor are. And while this situation is not new by any means, and may even be pencil-whipped into being legal over the years, pretending that this behavior is not abhorrent is also disingenuous. If this exact effort were to be carried out by any other nation, very serious consequences would result. But because of what has become obvious in American politics, there is almost zero chance that there will be any pushback on this at all, at least from federal agencies. On February 5, 2025, Attorney General Pam Bondi signed a memo to all DoJ employees, outlining her initiatives for the Department after being appointed to the position. This memo specifically referenced her initiative to change FARA reporting requirements for the first time in decades. This memo ordered the disbanding the NSA's Corporate Enforcement Unit, as well as the Foreign Influence Task Force. Granted, random government "task forces" aren't often effective at much, so this could have just been routine downsizing after a change of power in Washington. However, the overall strategic goal of the DoJ as outlined in this memo is clear: to downsize and deprioritize FARA policing efforts. More broadly, while this is a brazen effort by a foreign government, it would be very foolish to assume that this is the first time such action has been undertaken. These documents, while quite illuminating for some, are the least surprising "smoking gun" documents to come to light in recent memory. Even this campaign is not alone, there are two other wings of this operation. PROJECT ESTHER is a similar effort also being carried out by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is the line of effort that specifically targets social media influencers to push pro-Israeli messaging. The other branch of this operation is the PROJECT 545 initiative (which is the more well-funded aspect of these efforts). This more generalized program is intended to launch a $145 million dollar propaganda campaign to target Americans in general with specific pro-Israeli messaging. HOUTHIS JOIN THE WAR WITH MISSILE ATTACKS ON ISRAEL.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: The situation continues to deteriorate as Iranian attacks throughout the region have become vastly more effective over the past few days. Iranian targeting of locations in Israel has continued to increase, with multiple targets being struck over the weekend. The refinery in Haifa was struck yesterday afternoon, which resulted in a fire at the facility. Separately, a factory was hit in the industrial zone in Neot Havov, which also resulted in a fire. American bases in Kuwait were also hit overnight, with Iranian missiles targeting barracks facilities. Red Sea: Over the weekend, the Houthis entered the war, firing one cruise missile toward Israel. Analyst Comment: The Houthi's have chosen a soft-start to the war, and the missile that was fired was reportedly intercepted. Nevertheless, this is an indication that another front has been opened up, and since the FORD CSG is no longer in the Red Sea (due to moving off-station for repairs), missile defense in the region is less effective at the precise moment that the Houthis are entering the war. Saudi Arabia: Following a series of Iranian airstrikes, several strategic American aircraft were destroyed at Prince Sultan Air Base. Several KC-135 refueling tankers were destroyed, along with at least one E-3 Sentry AWACS early warning aircraft. Concerning casualties, official casualty figures were classified at the beginning of the war, however the Pentagon reports approximately 10x US service members were wounded during this attack. Jerusalem: Controversy has continued throughout the Old City as Israeli forces continue to inflame tensions with Christians throughout the region. Yesterday, Israeli police disrupted Palm Sunday proceedings as Cardinal Pizzaballa of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem was prevented from attending the procession at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Analyst Comment: This incident was so deliberate that even Mike Huckabee spoke out against it, calling the incident "unfortunate overreach". Considering Huckabee's infamy on this issue at this point, combined with the historical record (and the biblical context), it's a helpful barometer to gauge how serious of an incident this was, which increases tensions at a time when the stakes are already quite high around the region. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: The successful Iranian strike at Prince Sultan Air Base was very significant for many reasons. For one, taking out major American assets is a big deal, and the loss of EW aircraft will degrade American capabilities. The most obvious question is why these aircraft were being staged within Iranian missile range in the first place. The answer to this will be debatable: maybe military leadership knew the danger and decided that the risk was worth it, or maybe they got cocky and ignored the risk. There's no way to know right now, but it is not a great look for the US Air Force to put these airframes well within striking range of the Iranians. For context, the B-52's which are conducting bombing raids in Iran are mostly being launched all the way from England, simply due to the risk of housing them closer to the fight. However, when it comes to some aircraft, we gave the Iranians clean access to "Tanker Row", which allowed them to destroy several strategic aircraft on the ground. This small detail, while not particularly groundbreaking, also serves as a reminder for how complicated wars can be. Nothing is as simple as the textbook says it will be, and in wartime everything gets vastly more difficult. Vulnerabilities also increase because when things get complicated, the stakes are higher, and the room for error is substantially reduced. One early warning aircraft getting struck on the ground is one radar dish out of the fight...an airspace sector that will need to be filled by another asset. This idea also applies to life on the American homefront as well. One ship failing to make it's run through the Strait of Hormuz can swing world markets wildly, because there's a lot riding on that one ship. On any given day, there is some elasticity with world markets, and the petroleum sector is a good example of that due to the ramp-up/ramp-down of petroleum production which takes some time. But at some point, with a major global choke point out of the picture, there's no telling how things will work out as the effects of two major wars on two continents (Europe and the Middle East) come to bear. Strait of Hormuz: This morning another commercial vessel was struck while attempting to transit the Strait, which resulted in catastrophic damage to the vessel. The crew abandoned ship, and several crew members remain missing. Turkey: Another ballistic missile was intercepted overnight, as Iranian forces continue to target Incirlik Airbase. This is the third such interception since the war began. UAE: Overnight drone attacks continued to strike Dubai, with the International Financial Center being struck by a Shahed drone yesterday evening. Analyst Comment: Today was also the third day in a row that the UAE has changed their reporting criteria. Social media reports no longer list the total number of drones that impact within their country, with the daily rollup reports instead stating the number of drones and missiles that were "dealt with". Due to the video confirmation of drones impacting within Dubai overnight, these reports are now openly misleading, as the number of successful Iranian strikes remains unreported. -HomeFront- Michigan: Yesterday afternoon a vehicle ramming and small arms attack was reported at Temple Israel, one of the largest synagogues in Michigan. The attack began as a vehicle ramming attack targeting the main entrance to the facility. After the suspect breached the entrance, he exited the vehicle and was engaged by security personnel on site, who neutralized the attacker. Initial reports claim that the suspect also had explosives inside his vehicle, however authorities have not confirmed this yet as the vehicle caught fire during the incident and burned down a substantial portion of the structure, including the suspect. No one but the attacker was killed during the attack. Analyst Comment: The suspect in this case has been identified as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a naturalized US Citizen originally from Lebanon. Some sources claim that he conducted the attack due to to his family being killed in an Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp in Beirut yesterday, however these claims cannot be independently verified at this time. Either way, the suspect attacked the 12,000-member synagogue on a Thursday afternoon when almost no one was at the facility, which is an indicator that the terrorist did not have much time to plan the attack. More information is expected later on, as forensic analysis of the remains and vehicle debris is conducted. Virginia: Yesterday a mass shooting was reported at Old Dominion University after a terrorist entered a classroom and began targeting students. Local authorities state that a lone gunman entered an ROTC classroom at ODU shortly before 11:00am yesterday morning, first shooting the instructor, who has been identified as LTC Brandon Shah. Immediately after the first shots were fired, the cadets in the classroom mounted a counterattack, using violence of action to subdue the attacker. At some point during the attack one cadet produced a pocket knife which was subsequently utilized in stabbing the attacker to death. The assailant was found dead by police at the scene after being stabbed 22x times. Analyst Comment: The suspect in this case has been identified as Mohamad Bailor Jalloh, a naturalized US citizen from Sierra Leone and former National Guard soldier who had previously been convicted of attempting to carry out a terrorist attack. In 2016, Jalloh was arrested after attempting to procure firearms with the intent to carry out a Fort Hood-style mass shooting, which resulted in him being imprisoned in 2017 before he was released in 2024. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, local pro-Iranian militia groups such as the infamous Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have claimed credit for downing the KC-135 over western Iraq last night. However, it's extremely unlikely that the aircraft was shot down based on the damage that was sustained by the other KC-135 involved in the incident. ISRAEL LAUNCHES GROUND INVASION OF LEBANON.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: The Gulf War continues as Iranian forces begin shifting to strategic targets. Most of the drone/missile attacks overnight targeted oil production facilities, such as the Fujairah Industrial Zone in the UAE, which has been taken offline. Otherwise, the attacks on American installations continue, with the American Embassy in Riyadh being hit multiple times by drones overnight. Bahrain: Significant riots have broken out around the country, as the majority-Shia population begins expressing dissent with the Sunni government, and more specifically the American presence within the nation. Saudi Forces crossed the bridge this morning with anti-riot forces to help quell the more kinetic protests, which have become intense over the past 24 hours. Analyst Comment: Politics in Bahrain were complicated before the war, as the population is mostly Shia (and aligned with the Ayatollah), but the country is ruled by a Kingdom that is Sunni. Even before the shooting started the situation was tenuous at best, and the assassination of the Ayatollah might have been the spark needed to kick off a civil conflict within the island nation. This is a complicating factor for the United States, as Bahrain has long served as a major Center of Gravity for American combat power in the region. Now that some locals are getting rowdy (and are also aligned with Iran), this will make things more difficult. Lebanon: This morning Israeli forces launched a ground invasion in the south, opening up another front so as to seize terrain along the border. Lebanese Army forces have withdrawn from the border as Israeli units advance. Analyst Comment: It is not clear as to if this is a legitimate, full-scale ground invasion, or limited border incursions that Israel is known to do throughout southern Lebanon. So far, Israeli forces haven't crossed their limit of advance set during the height of the conflict two years ago. United Kingdom: A stabbing attack was reported in Edinburgh, which resulted in a standoff lasting several hours yesterday afternoon. One unidentified assailant began stabbing people an apartment building, which resulted in two people being wounded. After the attack, the suspect fled into the apartment building, which resulted in a standoff situation that lasted seven hours. Eventually, police were able to breach the building and detain the suspect. Separately, in Birmingham a different stabbing attack was captured on film this morning, which involved an assailant stabbing a man on the street outside a Catholic school in Alum Rock. This attacker was arrested at the scene, and very few details remain public regarding his identity. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Yesterday afternoon the US State Department published the list of nations that Americans should evacuate from, which includes the entire Middle East. The "depart now" order has been issued for the nations of: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the UAE, and Yemen. However, the US State Department has stated that Americans are on their own regarding evacuations. Even though the start of this combat operation was easily predicted down to the exact day (and nearly the exact hour) that it began, the United States somehow believes that they needed to maintain the element of surprise. The State Department believed that if they made attempts to evacuate the Middle East before the attack, the world would know that the war was imminent. This is also why many American bases appear to not be fortified as much as they could have been. In many cases, the Pentagon appears to not understand that their operation was very observable to the public, and their attempts to maintain the secrecy that they thought they had, resulted in little preparation in some areas. False sense of operational security aside, what this means at the moment is logistical challenges because everyone is having to sit tight for the moment until the war calms down enough to make evacuation flights reliable. A handful of flights have been able to make it in and out of Dubai, despite heavy GPS jamming efforts in the region. The governments of Britain and Poland are tentatively looking to start militarily-organized evacuation flights throughout the region over the next few days, however details are not yet solidified regarding these efforts. Italy has already conducted the military evacuation of some of their citizens from the region, who arrived back in Italy this morning. So far, the official policy of the US State Department is that US Citizens are on their own, and not a single evacuation flight of Americans has yet taken place to evacuate American citizens from the region. Right now, it might not seem like much, but time is in fact running out. Every single western-aligned Arab nation in the region is running out of interceptor missiles, with some nations reporting that they have burned through many years worth of their supply in just the past two days. Just this morning alone, the UAE blew through 172 interceptor missiles to take out 172 Iranian munitions that would have otherwise impacted targets inside their country. While it is unconfirmed hearsay at the moment, the rumor throughout the region is that the US has declined to restock these supplies, as most stockpiles of interceptor missiles have been allocated for Israel. As a result, this war is now a marathon to see who has more missiles, the Iranians or the other Persian Gulf states. At the moment, hundreds of drones and missiles are being intercepted out over the Gulf every day...the viral videos of drones slamming into targets on land are merely the munitions that have made it through missile defenses, which is a drop in the bucket compared to the true number of drones and missiles that are being launched. This has lead many to the false assumption that this war will fade away within a few days, because they can't visually see the interceptions that are taking place out over the water. However, it's now Day Four of this conflict, and the drone attacks have remained constant. When/if missile interceptors dwindle, these munitions will have nothing stopping them from reaching their targets. Last night, President Trump stated that American stockpiles of munitions are at adequate levels, and that "Wars can be fought 'forever'" at current stockpile levels of medium-grade munitions. Despite the rather unfortunate choice of vocabulary in this post, the cold hard truth is that the US has not been supplying the Arab nations that are now getting hit, with the munitions necessary for their defense, or more importantly, the defense of American assets (and citizens) in the region. This will complicate the self-evacuation of Americans over the next few weeks, in addition to sharply increasing the potential for more widespread drone strikes over the next few days. MISSILE AND DRONE STRIKES CONTINUE AROUND THE REGION.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: Yesterday afternoon, President Trump confirmed the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, who was killed in an airstrike in Tehran. Most of his senior advisors were also killed in the same engagement. On the maritime front, this morning one commercial tanker vessel was struck by an Iranian drone, with the crew of the M/T SKYLIGHT abandoning ship after their vessel was hit in the Strait of Hormuz. A few hours ago a second tanker was reportedly struck in the Strait, with the M/T MKD VYOM being struck also attempting to transit the waterway this morning. Analyst Comment: Of note, the SKYLIGHT does not appear to have been attempting to transit the Strait and has likely been anchored in the same place for a few years. This vessel was actually serving the Iranian oil industry, and was on the US sanctions list, so the Iranians appear to have targeted one of their own ships, possibly so that the Americans couldn't make use of it. Significant strikes have been reported at the Jebel Ali petroleum terminals in Dubai, and satellite imagery of Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait has confirmed that the base fuel point was hit, with the fuel bladders/blivets at this location burning overnight. All total, drone and missile attacks have remained constant throughout the day and night, with the various Interior and Defense Ministries of the following nations providing data on how many interceptions have been conducted overnight: Qatar: 65 ballistic missiles and 12 drones intercepted. Bahrain: 45 missiles and 9 drones intercepted. Jordan: 49 missiles and drones (combined figure), 13 of which were intercepted. Israel: Over 200 missiles and drones intercepted U.A.E. - 137 missiles and 209 drones detected, 195 of which were intercepted successfully. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have acknowledged strikes targeting their countries, however neither have confirmed how many drones/missiles have been intercepted. Analyst Comment: Note that these figures only encapsulate the munitions that were successfully intercepted and shot down; most countries don't want to publish the data of how many drones actually made it through their defenses, so the figure for how many strikes have been conducted so far is hard to discern. This time around all belligerents are exercising good operational security, so details of strikes are often hard to find via social media. This is most sharply demonstrated in Israel, where hundreds of strikes are occurring, but difficult to pinpoint on a map due to the exact location of strikes rarely being reported. Pakistan: Overnight, riots broke out at the US Consulate General in Karachi, which rapidly transitioned into an attempt to breach the American compound. After some time, rioters breached the outer security cordon, and US Marines which had taken up defensive positions inside the facility opened fire on the intruders before they could breach the secondary line of security around the perimeter. Analyst Comment: Details are extremely hard to verify, however local sources claim that a total of 9x Pakistani rioters were killed during the engagements so far, and the Marines have successfully held the Key Terrain around the Consulate for the past few hours. However tensions are rising, and if the videos of the riots are any indication, Pakistan is not up to the task of defending the American compound, as rioters were allowed to breach, destroy, and set the outer cordon of the American diplomatic post on fire, with no Pakistani security anywhere to be seen. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Around the United States, various efforts are underway to enhance the security posture of various locations and entities. In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has activated service members to take part in Operation FURY SHIELD, a defensive operation to strengthen security at critical infrastructure sites around the state, in the event that retaliatory efforts via lone-wolf actors attempt to conduct attacks within the homeland. Similarly, the NYPD in New York is increasing patrols throughout the city, and several military bases around the United States remain at an elevated security posture. Right now these efforts are probably being conducted out of an abundance of caution, however it does confirm that at least someone is thinking about the potential for events overseas, to impact the homeland in the form of terrorism.
