Every day, every one, tries. They try so they can survive. Parents try to grow tomatoes beside their tents, but there is no water to keep them alive. Support now: They search for water, but the trucks run dry before everyone is served. They cling to their tents for a shred of privacy, but the fabric is slowly destroyed by weather, rodents, and stray dogs. They search for bread, but even the most basic staple has become too expensive for many families. But you can assist. Fot about $2 you can provide a bundle of 10 fresh loaves of bread to a family facing hunger. On July 11, The Sameer Project distributed 406 bread bundles across Northern Gaza, delivering 254 bundles to Al-Fares Camp in Tal Al-Hawa, 150 bundles to Prince Tal Al-Hawa Camp, and 2 additional bundles to families with urgent special needs. "I send a message to the whole world to stand by me and every Palestinian hostage" Imagine losing a leg and then getting imprisoned and then losing your eyesight. That’s what happened to Mahmoud Abu Foul at the age of 28. He was abducted from Kamal Adwan hospital on December 27th and endured 8 months of brutal torture, beatings and humiliation. Mahmoud like many other returned hostages isn’t getting the proper medical care and can’t get a prosthetic leg as it is not available in Gaza. Borders need to open for doctors and field hospitals to provide adequate treatment. Till then, The Sameer Project are providing medical care through our Sawarha medical point and medical treatment camp to Mahmoud and others like him. Meanwhile, we gave Mahmoud dressings and medications worth $68 and cash aid. We are looking to support the released hostages with medical and mental health care. Imagine navigating a world you cannot see, the same world you cannot recognize or understand after destruction and genocide. Support our work: Whether blindness is caused by a congenital condition, illness, or the devastating injuries of bombings or shootings, children with visual impairments in Gaza face challenges that extend far beyond the loss of sight. They deserve the same opportunities to learn, grow, and dream as every other child. At Al-Noor Educational Center in Deir al-Balah, The Sameer Project supported visually impaired students with fresh fruit packages and juice…just small gifts that nourish their bodies while reminding them they are still special to us! The total cost was $170 after commission. We stand behind specialized centers like this that provide education, skills, confidence, and hope for a future beyond survival. Our team occasionally send us videos of specific tough cases and this one broke our hearts. A single mom with her mentally ill mother and three children, with no shelter or any basic needs provided. Support her case here: With a pack of diapers costing over $28 and a can of milk costing $11, families like this can’t afford to cover the basics for their baby. In addition, people with mental illness struggle a lot in the genocide with no care or support provided. Unfortunately, families like these are invisible to large organizations and supporters through social media. In the famine, the first people who pay the price are these invisible families with no access to any support or/and who suffer from chronic illnesses / mental illnesses, and/or those pregnant or with babies, etc. We will provide support to this family and other families in similar situations. A big challenge that Palestinians in Gaza face is the lack of hygiene products forcing them to use water from the sea and sand to wash their plates and clothes. HELP: The salty sea water that is full of sewage … Most people can’t afford to buy hygiene products as they are trying to survive and purchase food and water. This is why at The Sameer Project, we regularly provide hygiene packages to underserved displacement camps. On April 12th, The Sameer Project gave the Manshia Camp 43 hygiene packages with a broom, shampoo, detergent, washing liquid and more. An average 6,000 liter water truck serves at most 3,000 people. That’s two liters per person, the very very below minimum that each person in Gaza has access to per day. The 2-5 liters that people live on, barely surviving on. It was the last few days of Ramadan. Families had plans to gather and celebrate, but the ceasefire abruptly and violently ended a week prior. This is when 14 year old Hassan was injured with stray shrapnel that pierced through his skull and into his brain and eye. Help with his care: Hassan’s treatment is not available in Gaza. Like so many others he awaits evacuation with a referral report grading his condition as “emergency.” But with ongoing evacuation orders and incessant bombings it’s been weeks since the last medical evacuation, and the World Health Organization has yet to contact Hassan regarding treatment abroad. Hassan and his family have been living at our Refaat Alareer Camp and receiving medical treatment including physiotherapy, wound cleaning, and symptom management for his eye. He has seen specialists at every hospital in the North and the South and The Sameer Project team is doing everything to keep him calm and comfortable and manage his pain. Medical evacuations are nuanced, rare, and so difficult. We need to allow patients to receive lifesaving care outside of Gaza’s destroyed medical system. This Tuesday is going to be the hottest day yet since last summer. Donate here: Khan Younis is now no longer accessible to the Sameer Project team due to the displacement map release today dividing the South from the Central area. This is disastrous as around half a million people are trapped in Khan Younis. For the time being, the Sameer Project will set up tents in the Central area where a lot of displaced people are with no shelter or tents in bad condition. Each tent costs $384 with 7% commission. On the last day of Ramadan, the team ended the holy month with the incredible achievement of providing 1,000 meals in one day! The meals were distributed to different camps in Mawasi Khan Younis including: 200 to Farouq camp, 250 to Mothaboon camp, 150 to Abdulal camp, 200 to Abu Nasr camp, 70 to Batoul camp and 70 to Refaat Alareer camp in Zawayde as well as 60 meals randomly distributed on the street. This campaign was done with 8% commission only so each meal cost around $4.4 and the thousand meals cost $4,418. The Ramadan campaign will close tomorrow as people are donating their Zakat Fitr. Every day Palestinians in Gaza think about where to get food from, where to find water - but few think about the men who wake up every day to clean the streets, remove garbage, and prevent disease from spreading in a place where the occupation has systematically destroyed sanitation infrastructure and waste management systems. Donate now: Their work is exhausting. The piles of waste grow larger, resources are scarce, and the conditions become more dangerous by the day. Yet they continue because they believe that cleanliness is part of faith, part of dignity, and part of caring for their community. These sanitation workers are often unseen and rarely thanked. But Gaza would not function without them. As part of our Eid meat distribution in Gaza City, Translating Falasteen x The Sameer Project made sure to visit and honor the sanitation crews who continue serving their people under impossible circumstances. Alongside the distribution of 200 kilograms of meat, we wanted to recognize the dedication, sacrifice, and humanity of those who work tirelessly to keep their neighborhoods clean and livable. The full 200 kilograms of meat distributed cost $3,257 after fees and commissions. These workers preserve dignity, protecting public health, and continuing to serve our people despite all obstacles. As a parent what would you do if you couldn’t feed your children? Watching them starve, crying for food, as your own empty stomach gnaws at you. HELP: Children in Gaza are still malnourished, still starving, a famine still underway. Aid trucks are still just trickling in, no where near as many as necessary to feed a besieged population. The Sameer Project team visited Preparatory School C in Deir al-Balah area to deliver meals to the entire school that was transformed into a family shelter. We distributed 500 spiced rice meals with vegetables, each one costing a little less than $6. The entire sheltered distribution on September 21 cost $3,199. Every donation, any amount, has an impact. When we met Suhail, he was caring for his young niece alone after she witnessed the martyrdom of her mother. She lay beside her mother's body, a trauma no child should ever endure. Support here: Before that day, life was already difficult. She lives with a cleft lip, a heart condition, and brain atrophy. Since losing her mother, she has stopped speaking entirely. The weight of grief and psychological trauma has stolen her voice. Where do we even begin to help? On June 8, The Sameer Project distributed 305 mujaddara meals in Ard Al-Tayeb Camp for $917, including 11% commission. We came to provide food, but meeting this family reminded us that hunger is only one piece of the suffering families in Gaza endure. A hot meal and an additional follow up food parcel can help ease some immediate burdens. But what about cleft lip surgery? What about physiotherapy? Medication? Hygiene support? Psychological care? Who will stand beside this child as she tries to rebuild a sense of safety after witnessing the unimaginable? Because of funding shortages, we have stopped accepting new referrals for individual medical cases. Yet some situations make it impossible to walk away. We cannot see a child struggling and simply do nothing. We do not yet have all the answers. But we will follow up. We will search for every possible avenue of support. 🚨🚨 Unfortunately, The Sameer Project took the decision today to close our kitchen a few days a week because we are not getting enough funding. The 3,000 sandwiches we make cost around $8,500 to $9,000 per day and that’s the amount we are getting across all campaigns. Our hearts ache as we make this announcement but there’s no other option 🚨🚨 Urgent support needed: Taghreed lives in Asdqa Camp in Deir El Balah, a camp that we support regularly, and she talks about her daily struggles and the risks she took to keep her kids alive. Including risking her life to go get food during the famine. Taghreed and her family are one of many that we support through our community kitchen. On May 2nd, the Translating Falasteen x The Sameer Project gave out 885 liver sandwiches in Asdqa Camp, Asqalan area, Central Gaza. Total cost with 11% commission was $2,104. The Sameer Project team is extremely sad about lowering our food production. Most community kitchens provide lentils and plain pasta that many people in camps through away. We pride ourselves in providing high quality tasty nutritious food and pray that donations pick up again so we can get back to distributing at maximum capacity. Anyone who has a child, a sibling, a family member, with special needs will recognize the exhaustion on this father's face. It is the fatigue of never truly resting. Of constantly protecting, comforting, and worrying about what comes next. Please help here: He dreams of giving his son more than life inside a tent. More than fear. More than uncertainty. His son’s anxiety and disabilities leave him trapped within his own mind - how do you begin to explain the suffering in a way that is comprehensible. After the occupation destroyed Gaza's specialized services, therapy programs, schools, and support systems, this family has been left to face every challenge alone. This young man is bound not only by his disability, but by the complete absence of the care he deserves. And his father is trapped by the constant worry of wondering how he will keep going. Today, this family needs more than sympathy. They need food. They need cleaning supplies. They need someone to tell them, "We're here. You are not alone." Displaced in Tal Al-Hawa, they struggle through impossible circumstances while caring for an adult child with special needs. Their financial situation is devastating, and every day is a fight to preserve dignity - their pain is impossible to understand, even within the content of genocide. The Sameer Project believes that vulnerability should never mean abandonment. For two weeks, The Sameer Project shifted to rice and burgul meals due to the lack of funds. Support here: The families in the camps we distribute in were really upset that we stopped meat / chicken meals, so we decided to be innovative and came up with more affordable dishes packed with protein! Our incredible Chef Majid came up with nutrition filled meals like this one that they called Thai Chicken, which includes onion, black pepper, mushrooms, corn and carrots. Wholesome and filling meals for only $3! Right now, The Sameer Project kitchen is making around 1,600 meals per day for four days a week. We used to cook 7 days a week but have now reduced the days due to the decrease in funding. We need your help to go back to 3,000 meals for 7 days a week to support Palestinians in Gaza! Together Reviving Gaza (Reviving Gaza) and the Sameer Project worked on providing much needed nutritious food to Nasser hospital. For two days in a row, 400 kilograms of potatoes were distributed to the patients in the hospital on each day. The initiative done on August 8th and August 10th cost overall $19,616 with 10% commission. Each kilo of potatoes with commission cost $21.55 so the 800 kilos of potatoes alone cost $17,240 and the rest was paid for labor, transport and cooking costs. Our focus on hospitals is due to the ongoing famine that strongly impacts patients while they are trying to heal. The lack of nourishing food prolongs the illness and makes their recovery harder. The pediatric department at Nasser Hospital requested our help!! Support: There is a huge influx of patients at the hospital in Khan Younis due to displacements from the North and the number of malnourished and sick babies being born daily. In a 24 hour period, the pediatric ward had 1,000 patients visit with is 10x the usual number. Mothers, babies, children are sprawled out on the hospital floor because of the overcrowding. The Sameer Project responded by delivering 30 mattresses so that the huge number of cases have somewhere to rest and recover. Each mattress cost $75, with the total coming to $2,239 after 11% commission. We are always glad to be able to support the hospitals that are working so hard to take care of patients. We built a water pipeline!! Some people are not able to go to the water, so we made the water come to them! People have to walk miles each way to fetch jerrycans of water and carry them back the same distance in the heat. The elderly, the injured, women and children have a difficult time doing this every day in order to get this life sustaining essential. Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine) ) x The Sameer Project constructed a water pipeline extension for Ansar Camp 12 (Al-Awfiaa) in the al-Katiba area of al-Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City. On August 24 the piping was installed including the hose, connectors, plastic elbows, and head that allows barrels to be filled for people in the camp. In all the materials and wages were paid via bank transfer at 11% for a total of $826. Going out to get water is risky. There have been attacks on children just waiting in line to ensure their family’s survival. This project allows people to walk just feet to collect water. Support the North Campaign to help.
