Due to the officiating performance in Game 2, the San Antonio Zoo has decided to nominate a replacement referee crew for tonight’s game. After careful evaluation, these animals demonstrated: • better contact awareness • improved flop recognition • significantly fewer imaginary whistles We’ll see you at tipoff. #PorVida #GoSpursGo #SavageZoo

Showing the animals Wemby's Game 1 Highlights! ICYMI: we made a little Western Conference Finals wager with Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden - the series losing city's zoo must fly the opposing team's flag for a full day. 👀 The rivalry goes back to 2018, when OKC Zoo sent us an African wild dog named "Thunder" Just like Wemby and Chet, we have some longstanding beef too, we never forgot, and we've been patiently waiting years for payback! #PorVida #GoSpursGo #SavageZoo

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you that yesterday afternoon our Animal Care team made the difficult decision to euthanize the beloved Kevin The Duck. Kevin, a wild mallard, arrived at San Antonio Zoo sometime around 2017 in the hippopotamus habitat. We believe was born in the zoo and ended up in the habitat with Timothy and Uma. Kevin had a deformed wing and could not fly, so our Animal Care team adopted him and took care of him his entire life. Kevin passed away quietly yesterday morning under the loving care and comfort of his veterinarians and animal care staff. In recent weeks the team noticed Kevin displaying mobility issues, and an exam by our veterinary team found two large cancerous masses, one in his chest and one in his abdomen. The mass in his chest was affecting his ability to breathe well and the mass in his abdomen was affecting his ability to walk. At the age of 8, Kevin lived a full life. The average lifespan for a wild mallard is 5 - 10 years. He was known for always crashing the hippo experiences and often stealing the spotlight. We believe Kevin may have considered himself to be a hippo and both Timothy and Uma happily accepted him into their family. Please enjoy this video about Kevin The Duck from March of 2021, with a special message to him from the zoo crew, Timothy and Uma at the end. #KevinForever

San Antonio Zoo takes our tree planting very seriously. In light of recent news an immediate investigation was launched on property to determine if any potentially fraudulent activity (aka “Clipping”) was occurring on zoo grounds by a previously known “actor.” This video chronicles our investigation. *any similarities to names, or current news stories is strictly coincidental and in parody…oh and GO SPURS GO! #SavageZoo #PorVida #Clipping
