Let’s be clear, Panjab University is Punjab’s University! Not Haryana’s. Not the Centre’s. Not any political party’s. Haryana withdrew its colleges 55 years ago in the early 1970s, shifted them to Kurukshetra University, stopped funding PU, and lost all representation in its Senate. Since then, Haryana has had no stake, no affiliation, and no role in PU’s governance. Knowing that Haryana walked away 55 years ago, Now suddenly there’s intense interest from Haryana pressure from the Haryana CM, pressure from the Centre, Haryana student unions talking about a share and even a committee formed by the VC to discuss Haryana’s stake? Add to that the private, off-hours meetings at the VC’s residence… while the same VC has no time to meet PU students who are protesting to protect the university Panjab University, Chandigarh It’s obvious what’s happening, dirty political tactics are being used to grab Panjab University, after 55 years of Haryana having no role and no affiliation with the university. #SavePUFromCentre #SavePanjabUniversity

The Dera Beas group has illegally set up permanent structures inside the river. By disrupting the natural flow, they have built a four to five kilometer long embankment and diverted the river towards the Bhulath Mand region. Posing a serious threat to nearby villages. Evidence shows that the Dera authorities are also extracting sand directly from the river,. Their side of the river now stands dry while the Bhulath area has already been submerged. #PunjabFloods The question is why are our leaders and the authorities silent?? The floods in Punjab today are worse than 1987-88. Ravi river has crossed past records. 7+ districts submerged. Crops lost. Homes destroyed. People displaced. Cows, buffaloes swept away. Schools shut. Roads broken. And we have a leadership that promised ‘Rangla Punjab’ " ਰੰਗਲਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ" but gave us "Ujṛha " ਉੱਜਾੜ੍ਹਾ instead. Bhagwant Mann This isn’t just nature.
