Honoured to accept the GLOBSEC award on behalf of the Moldovan people — those who fought for democracy for three decades, refused to be intimidated, and show up every day doing the work. Moldova’s ask is that the EU match our determination to join the family.

Kicked off my visit to Brussels with a productive meeting with António Costa Antonio Costa. With a strong mandate from our citizens, Moldova stands ready to take the next steps on its EU accession path.

When Chișinău and Bucharest join efforts, we improve lives in both our countries. Together we overcome challenges and together we support Ukraine in its pursuit of peace. Moldova will earn its place in the European family—and Nicușor Dan and Romania stand with us.

Yesterday in Tallinn, at the Lennart Meri Conference, I shared Moldova’s lessons from the frontline of our fight for democracy. Thank you for an engaging conversation, Jakov Milatovic 🇲🇪🇪🇺 Ayman Safadi Hiski Haukkala and Sylvie Kauffmann — and to Alar Karis for the invitation.

For 1,000 days, Ukraine has been fighting tirelessly to defend its land and freedom with incredible courage. This fight is about restoring faith in a world where sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by all. Moldova stands by your side—now and always.

On 28 September, in parliamentary elections, Moldovans made a clear choice: Europe. Despite massive Russian interference, our people stood firm. This was not a normal election — it was a test of democracy under attack. And our citizens passed it.

Today marks two years of Russia's war against Ukraine. I thank Ukrainians for their tireless fight for freedom and for protecting peace in Moldova too. In these two years, the free world has shown unprecedented solidarity, yet the war persists; our support must endure fiercely.

Always a pleasure to be back at the Élysée with Emmanuel Macron, reaffirming our shared vision for a strong, united, and peaceful Europe. Here to discuss Moldova’s security, peace in Ukraine, EU enlargement and projects delivering real benefits to our people. Merci, la France!
