There are 5 Turkish barber shops within a short walking distance of each other in Runcorn Old Town. Whilst banks are closing, pubs are disappearing and shops are struggling, Turkish barbers are multiplying, taking over our precious high streets. Why is no one asking questions about how these businesses are operating and whether they’re even legitimate?

I asked the Prime Minister a question that a number of people had raised with me: ‘Given the Prime Minister’s desire to strengthen strategic alignment with our European neighbours, will he — in the interest of public safety — follow the lead of France, Denmark, Belgium and others and ban the burqa?'

The Green Party have released a campaign video entirely in Urdu. Integration requires a shared language. If you live here, you should speak English. To the people of Gorton and Denton, only Matt Goodwin will stand up for our community and defend our values. Vote Matt Goodwin on Thursday, 26th February.

SPOTLIGHT ON GORTON AND DENTON: On polling day, three men stood directly at the entrance to a polling station beside a car covered in Green Party insignia and fitted with loud hailers, claiming they were “going leafleting”. Voters must be able to enter and leave freely, without pressure, obstruction or intimidation. Reform UK GB News Talk Daily Mail Electoral Commission

Just heard some truly shocking news in my Runcorn constituency office this morning. A constituent of mine is now serving a 28-month prison sentence - simply for posting an unwise tweet. I’m going to visit him in prison next week to hear his side of the story - but this looks like an all too familiar tale of two-tier justice.

This afternoon I spoke in the Second Reading of the Northern Ireland Troubles Bill. This subject has been close to my heart since I entered Parliament. I believe profoundly that our country must protect our servicemen and women. As a group of Generals warned recently, soldiers could be expected to face not only the enemy before them but the lawyer behind them. This is a disgrace and must never be allowed to happen.
