New York spends more per resident on Medicaid than any other state. But its AG has done less to root out Medicaid fraud than nearly any other state. Since 2019, NY AG Letitia James has received 57% more funding for her Medicaid Fraud Control, yet enforcement is down 82%. More money, fewer results. As a federal prosecutor, I prosecuted more fraud in my career than James’s entire unit did in a year. When I'm Attorney General, I'll take on Medicaid fraud, add 20 criminal fraud prosecutors to the Medicaid Fraud unit, ramp up civil enforcement with the False Claims Act, and aggressively go after the fraudsters. Let’s stop the scams and protect New Yorkers’ tax dollars.
