Disclaimer: This is my own translation of parts of #Flex1045xJossGawinConcert It's not a word for word translation, since the original conversation was quite long and JossGawin don't always speak in perfectly structured Thai. I've adjusted some wording and phrasing to make it flow more naturally and easier to understand in English. --------------------------------------------- 🎙: When did you first develop a passion for music? 🐧: I think I felt it from a very young age, back in elementary school. Before that, my mom had a guitar at home. She used to play it when she was in high school. 🐧: There was this guitar at our house, and as a kid I'd just strum it and mess around with it. I didn't really know how to play, but I liked experimenting with it. Then I came across some music-making apps on my phone. Back then they weren't touchscreens or anything, they had actual buttons. 🐧: I started seriously studying music when I was in elementary school, around Grade 3 or Grade 4. I also joined my school's marching band. That's when I began learning the trumpet. I stayed with it for a long time and really enjoyed it. I liked music so much that I even wanted to attend a music school. 🎙: Why did you choose the trumpet? 🐧: Honestly, at the time I didn't even know what a trumpet was. I joined a music class where everyone had to pick an instrument, but I had no idea what to choose. I didn't even know what a marching band was. They looked at me and basically decided, "Let's give this kid a trumpet." 🎙: So they chose it for you. You didn't choose it yourself. 🐧: Yeah, I didn't even choose it. I just started learning it from then on. After school, I'd continue with extra music lessons. I kept playing for years, and eventually I realized that I really liked it. 🎙: And your mom can play guitar too, right? 🐧: She can, to some extent. She knows chords and can sing while playing. She used to do that back when she played regularly. 🎙: Did your mom ever play with you or teach you? 🐧: When I was little, she taught me some basics, like what each string was and little things like that. But as I said, she hadn't played in a long time, so she had probably forgotten some things. Still, the guitar was always there. 🎙: So in a way, that guitar is something passed down from your mom to you. Do you still have it? 🐧: I do. But it probably needs some repairs because it's really, really old now.

The interview from #Flex1045xJossGawinConcert 🎙: What side of the other person do you find hot? 🐻: I think... when he's on stage. Especially when he's holding a guitar. And not just that. Like, during the fancan, his solo stages. Every song he performed, like, The Oasis one, right? or when he sang Call Me By Your Name. He has really good taste in music. 🐻: When he gets to perform songs that he genuinely loves, his charm comes out naturally. During guitar solos and moments like those, he really stands out. Anytime he's with an instrument, he looks cool. Somehow, when he's up there by himself, he just becomes P'Gawin. P'Gawin. 😆

Here's another interesting part from #Flex1045xJossGawinConcert 🎙: Joss, in what kind of situations does Gawin feel pressured 🐻: When it comes to performing. I think it's usually related to preparation time, like when we've had less time to rehearse. 🐧: Yeah, yeah, exactly. If we haven't had many chances to do full run throughs and repeat them several times, I tend to feel quite a bit of pressure. 🐻: Like during LOL. Sometimes there are shows where we have to work around everyone's schedules. 🎙: You mean group performances? 🐻: Yeah. We end up with very little rehearsal time, so there's always a bit of worry. There was also the fancon when he got sick. All of a sudden, his voice started disappearing. He kept shaking his leg nonstop because during our run throughs, we could tell his voice was starting to go. I think it was partly because we'd been rehearsing so much and weren't getting enough rest. 🐧: That's right. At that time we were rehearsing so much that we barely slept and didn't get enough rest. 🐻: During rehearsals they were also using smoke effects, dry ice and all that. Honestly, neither of us knew that we were supposed to wear masks around it. 🎙: So in the end, it all comes from wanting the show to be as perfect as possible. 🐻: Exactly. 🐧: Yeah. Like I said, if I've had plenty of rehearsals and run throughs, I feel much more at ease. 🎙: "Practice makes perfect," as they say. 🐻: And it's also about making sure we get enough rest. We need to place more importance on that because no matter how hard you rehearse, if you don't get enough sleep, your body can't recover properly, and then you won't be able to perform at your best. 🎙: So it's really about finding the right balance between rest, rehearsals, and work. That's incredibly important.

This whole conversation is gold. I have to give it to P'Leo, he almost managed to get the answer out of Joss. 😂 🦁: Before flying to Singapore, how many days had it been since you last saw each other for it to get to the point where you had to go see him? Was it really that long that you had to fly all the way to Singapore? 🐻: We hadn't seen each other for... Do I really have to answer that? 🦁: If it wasn't that long, then... you can't stay apart from each other at all? 🐧: We work together all the time, though. And like he said, he went there check out a musicon. 🐻: Like I said, I went to see my nephew. My nephew had been born for about two months already. And as I said, I was going to visit my friend too. It just happened to be a good opportunity. 🦁: So you could visit your friend... and Gawin too. 🐻: Anyway, it was worth it. My dad got to go on a trip as well. There's this part in the interview where the host asked what they worry about most when it comes to each other, and Gawin's answer was that he doesn't really worry about Joss. His reason was that Joss is the kind of person who, when he says he's going to do something, he always follows through. Not only that, he does it well. He puts everything he has into it until it's done right. And honestly, the more I think about that answer, the sweeter it feels. Because I think it says a lot about how Gawin sees Joss as a person, someone stable, someone dependable, someone who takes care of the people around him. Someone Gawin knows he can lean on when things get difficult, the kind of person whose presence alone makes you feel like everything is going to be okay. Sometimes “I don't worry about him” doesn't mean you care less. Sometimes it means you trust someone so completely that worrying never even crosses your mind. And I don't know... I just find that incredibly endearing.

I really love this part of the interview. It shows how much effort they’ve put in, how much they’ve grown, and how they still genuinely want to keep learning about each other. MC: Has it taken you a long time to get to where you are now? Have there been any conflicts between you? What kind? Gawin : Yeah, there have. Joss: I think the conflicts mostly come from differences in lifestyle and personality. When you spend a lot of time together, you’re bound to see both the good and the bad sides. Like me… I’ve said this before, but my energy tends to push, while his is more pull. I’m the type who always wants to do this, do that, go here, go there. I’m always inviting him to do things. Sometimes, I end up stepping into his space a bit too much. And Gawin is like… introvert level 900. MC: Level 900? Joss: Honestly, more like 999. He needs to go home and recharge, spend time on his own. But sometimes I feel like there are so many things I want him to do with me, so I might invite him a bit too much. And when he doesn’t respond or join in, because he needs to recharge, I end up feeling a certain way. MC: Like upset? Joss: Yeah. But in the end, I have to reflect on myself too. Like, am I pushing him too much? I have friends who help me understand that even if I think what I’m offering is good, he’s the one who gets to decide whether it’s good for him or not. He has to choose for himself. So I think it’s better for me to just give him space. If he wants to join, he can come in on his own. But it’s still a process, we’re still learning about each other. We haven’t known each other for that long. Three years isn’t actually that long. Gawin: Has it really been three years already? Joss: Around two to three years, right? Yeah, we’ve known each other for two almost three years now but we still have a lot to learn about each other. #Flex1045xOnlyFriendsDreamOn #JossGawin

This was my favorite part of #Flex1045xJossGawinConcert 🎙: What is something you've managed to overcome within yourself? 🐻: The first big thing that comes to mind was before the fancon. 🎙: Last year's fancon? 🐻: Yes. I remember talking to Gawin about how I still wasn't confident that I could do it. I already knew that no matter what, I was going to have to get on that stage. But at that time, I felt like I didn't really belong there. Maybe because I came from an acting background. 🐻: I also had a lot of worries. A lot of my friends are artists, like Timethai and P'Pae, who are musicians. They've spent years building up their experience. Even Gawin himself has been playing music since he was a teenager, since he was a kid. 🐻: But for me, I had only recently started trying and learning. A lot of the time, it didn't feel natural. It wasn't something I could just do right away. I had to practice, practice, and practice again and agian. When I first started taking lessons, there were still times when I'd sing off key or dance out of rhythm. So I felt like everything was moving so slowly. I was starting late, after all. 🐻: But as I kept practicing more and more, I gradually became more confident. Still, there was always a small part of me that wondered, because I'd never performed on a big stage before. I didn't know what it would be like. Would I be able to handle the nerves? What if I made a mistake? What would happen then? 🐻: It took time. In the end, my friends and the people close to me helped me realize that it was all just part of the experience. Whatever is going to happen will happen. I feel lucky to have people around me who made me feel comfortable enough to just go for it. 🐻: And we practiced so much that, for some songs, it became second nature to me. That's when I started thinking, Okay, maybe I started later than other people, but if I put in enough practice and give myself enough time, I can do it. 🐻: Then when the day finally came and I actually did it, I really could do it. Even though there were mistakes and it wasn't perfect, I still felt like, Wow, I actually did a good job. And when I got feedback from my friends, the fans, and the seniors who told me they were very surprised that I was able to do this well, I thought, Okay... yeah, it's difficult. But it's not impossible. 🎙: Everything is possible. Anything is possible. Let's give him a round of applause. 👏🏻
