This is a traditional way of staging protests by taking out a rally with mashals in hands. It happened in the night hours of 8 September 2024. I can see Meitei women hitting the streets. The Meira Paibis have been at the forefront of the Manipuri movement. Rare is a sight of womenfolk from a community protesting, fighting and taking charge of and leading a movement from the front. Manipur is passing sleepless nights. Will GoI wake up to Manipur's reality and safeguard its integrity against Church-backed Kuki terrorism? Manipur seeks peace. Absolute peace! Manipur has been turned into a warzone by the Indian state itself. Central security forces are firing tear gas INSIDE a baby hospital in Sagolband, exposing infants and mothers. They are beating unarmed civilians, smashing CCTV cameras, raiding homes house-to-house, and cracking down brutally on peaceful Meira Paibi torch rallies—all while Kuki narco-terrorists roam free, killing Meiteis, Tangkhuls, and other innocents with zero consequences. Three years of central forces acting as Kuki bodyguards while the Meiteis and other indigenous peoples are slaughtered, displaced, and now even attacked inside maternity wards. Disgusting fakeries at play! The government talks "national security" but enables the slaughter of Meiteis for Act East optics and Myanmar border games. Meiteis bleed daily. Delhi plays chess with narco-terrorists and foreign policy. Enough of this betrayal! The Northeast must remain the "gateway" to Myanmar and SE Asia connectivity projects—highways, trade corridors, foreign investment—no matter how many Meitei children are rocket-blasted or how many mothers and infants choke on tear gas in Sagolband's Mothers Care hospital. It doesn't take understanding rocket science to acknowledge that one group isn't in any mood to give up what it is up to and it is the Kuki community. The Kukis are preparing and assembling weapons to attack the Meiteis and right under the watch of GoM and GoI. With the sole objective of inflicting a genocide on the indigenous Meitei people, they are committed to launching unabated attacks on the Meiteis. The central government is pretending as though Manipur and the Meiteis do not exist at all. The PM is so keen in resolving the Ukraine crisis while shirking his responsibilities towards bringing an end to the Manipur fiasco. He is cosying up to a nation that has never failed to offend Bharata, what Ukraine is. But he has maintained a studied silence on the escalated violence and bloodshed that has gripped the Northeastern border state for more than 16 months now. None from the Saffron regime is saying anything at all about the Manipur crisis, let alone actuating measures for its lasting settlement. In response to the state government's drive against illegal encroachment of reserved and protected forest areas in the hills of Manipur as well as the clampdown on poppy cultivation in these hills, on 3 May 2023, Kukis (who have captured the hill regions of Manipur) began setting Meitei homes on fire in Churachandpur district. A weapons manufacturing unit of Kukis went up in flames at Thangbuh village in Thangjing Hill of Churachandpur district, Manipur at around 7 pm in the evening of 8 September 2024. Ten casualties from the Kuki community have been reported. 𝗠𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘀 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿𝘀 Meiteis aren't demanding a separate administration. Just think in practical terms, if you are the owner of the house, you wouldn't allow an outsider to barge into it and claim a share of it. No sane person who values his home would want the splitting of his house. Meiteis are committed to their homeland and naturally wouldn't wish its partition. On the other hand, whatever share an illegal occupant can take possession of, it would be absolutely OKAY for him. (As an aside, if you recall, they are OKAY with dropping bombs on the Meiteis!) So, if he is eyeing to grab all of the house for himself, he would begin with a forceful seizure of a portion of the house till such time he can evict the real owner out of the house to acquire and assert its total possession. Kukis are the illegal occupants in the homeland of the Meiteis. For Zalengam to fructify, the division of Manipur is the first step. They have already spread their footprints in this region of the sub-continent. They will come to an understanding with Bangladesh which is their readymade ally and go for the kill which is to carve out parts of Northeast for creation of the holy land of Christian Kuki tribes. Bangladesh and Bharata in this equation aren't on equal footing from the perspective of the ambitious Kuki project of Zalengam. The Meiteis from different walks of life have been clamouring for peace across the state. They have participated in dialogues and discourses that are directed towards building peace and bridging the gap between the two groups. And they have been urging the central government to take urgent measures to restore normalcy in the state. While the language of the Kukis betray their zeal for expansionist adventures in Bharata's North-East. All said and done, it is crucial to underline the fact that Narendra Modi hasn't by any means broken away from the Nehruvian mould. In fact, all his policies eventually have served to consolidate it. Be it on the internal or the external front. This onslaught is clearly genocide of the Meiteis at the religio-cultural level. Such targeted attacks are driven by the zombielike maniac ambition of the Kukis to destroy the native Hindu/Sanamahi civilisation in Manipur to be supplanted by a Christian state, Zalengam. This incident reinforces our claims that the Manipur Violence has a prominent religious/communal angle to it (often denied by vested interests) apart from geopolitics and other facets.
