The little FCS school that beat Georgia Tech in 2019, now taking over their indoor practice facility…. Just for a few minutes.

Simple enough statement from Summerville head coach Ian Rafferty to Dutch Fork head coach Tom Knotts after the 40-20 loss to the Silver Foxes. "We're going to keep trying man, we're going to keep coming"

I like how Nate Bargatze just kind of anonymously snuck into the Vanderbilt team postgame handshake line and went the entire way through. I'm not sure anybody from UVA who shook his hand, realized who it was. And then he threw the Anchor Down right to Sports4.

I'll never forget how uncomfortable it was watching this. Terry Don, right over Dabo's shoulder during his first game as interim head coach. Couldn't imagine that pressure. I'd say it worked out quite well for all involved. Terry Don made an indelible mark on Clemson.

This is Steve Zayachkowski. Charleston Southern wrapped up practice 30 minutes ago. It’s hot, humid, awful out. Everyone inside. Gabe Giardina, gone. 1 player remains on the field. Working on technique by himself. Hitting the sled, by himself. No coaches. Their best player. Their senior captain. Their 1st team all-conference guy.

That hug means everything. Maurice Drayton and Raleigh Jackson. 2 Citadel grads. 2 guys who love that school. Two of the coaches who just led The Citadel to ANOTHER win over an FBS team. The Citadel, takes down Charlotte. On the road. In triple OT. Heck of a win.

Wow. Talk about an emotional Chad Holbrook. He's simply brought to tears by today's decision to leave CofC out of the NCAA Tournament. "I was a coach that got fired for going 13-17. I know what a mediocre regular season is that many teams that got in had."

The transfer portal is a wild place. The Citadel Basketball surely just pulled one of their most unique transfers. He'll be a 30-year-old junior. A father. A navy veteran. He never played HS hoops. Went from military teams, to JUCO, to Green Bay to here. Meet Mel Bethea.

He says they are mainly worn by old women in their garden or construction workers on the side of the road. But Citadel slugger Zach Hunt, raised on a farm in Dillon, wears them as batting gloves. It’s worked to the tune of 10 HR’s this year. I dug in, on those yellow mitts.

Man, talk about emotion, and tears just pouring out. Talk about a situation worse than you can imagine, and a team galvanizing for a win. ETSU head coach Tre Lamb, literally in tears talking about the Helene ordeal. Stuck in a homeless shelter parking lot. No cell service. Johnson City hit and the toll this has taken on the area the Bucs call home. Wow. 2:30 worth listening to.

I have zero idea about the legality of this, but it’s absolutely awesome! This gentleman, Jordan Popoff, of the Pee Dee IceCats gets sent off to the room for fighting. He decides to come out to watch with the fans. His team scores. He goes nuts, WITH the fans. Hockey is the best. Spittin' Chiclets Paul Bissonnette Ryan Whitney Rear Admiral

Find me a special teams coordinator anywhere in America more jazzed up for the 2nd half than Citadel’s Tony Coaxum. Anywhere. I’ll wait.

Jessica Pegula said it on the court after her win, if you don't know the story of Yuliia Starodubtseva, look it up. Her post-match press conference. Incredibly impressive. First and foremost, a proud Ukranian. Says her heart is there. But this is someone who started a GoFundMe just to jumpstart a pro career after playing at Old Dominion. Someone who worked part time at a country club in NY. She knew this was a life changing run in Charleston, she wasn't able to sleep the past 3 nights. The thoughts in her head. This isn't "chump change" she's making. It's career changing. Not for toys, but literally to travel her physio coach to the Europe run. To invest in herself. She's worth a listen. Charleston Southern saw Georgia Southern up close on Saturday. I asked CSU head coach Gabe Giardina if Georgia Southern could pose any problems for Clemson on Saturday.

What a quote from CofC AD Matt Roberts. In part... "If they sit in that room and hear that speech from those 2 coaches and that's not good enough for them, get out of here. Get out of here, go somewhere else. If money is your motivator, you are not wanted at CofC. That is a direct message to those student athletes"

This morning in West Ashley, former CofC soccer coach Nick Stemkowski held a yard sale. Sometimes, when trying to find a steal- “When it rains, it pours”. Items, all generously donated by those who finished above him in his fantasy football league. I spoke with one satisfied customer. A gentleman who excels at fantasy football, but also, recently has begun dabbling in music. Luke Combs, really eyeing things to improve his golf short game, as well as a television filled with canned legumes for only $24.50. Deals were to be had, but you had to get there quickly before all items, at this market curated by a former soccer coach in a cheap tuxedo were sold out.

Really, truly, do appreciate the genuine friendship and respect between Dabo Swiney and Shane Beamer. So far removed from a quick 5 second handshake because “they have to”. It’s unquestionably real. Even ended with Dabo telling Shane’s son, “love you buddy”.

Just tragic, heartbreaking news. Baptist Hill HS rising star OL Jaiden Odom (#57 in all of this video) died in a house fire early yesterday morning in Hollywood. Just 15 years old. From Marion Brown- "We're planning on playing this Friday. They came together and decided to dedicate this season to him" -- So, so tough in such a tight knit, small community. They have great leaders to help them push on while honoring.

What a Father's Day it will be in Omaha. Lowcountry TV icon Dean Stephens tried to steer his son, Jack Delongchamps, away from broadcasting. Good thing, kids don't listen. Dean now wells up, watching Jack nightly at the CWS on ESPN, living a mutual dream. Better believe, he and Caroline will head to Nebraska this weekend to celebrate the start of an iconic rise for their Mt. Pleasant kid.

There is a whole other side out there. All we hear these days is about massive, 7 figure NIL deals. Who can pay more. Ja Medlock is a Northwood Academy grad. He loves football. Desperate to play in college. Got an offer from University of Dubuque in Iowa. But he needs to pay to go, not "get" paid. His mom knows how desperate he is. She knows how hard he's worked. She'd do anything for her son. She started a GoFundMe. To fund school. Life expenses. Give him the "opportunity" to earn a scholarship while living his dream. I spoke with both of them tonight.
