I condemn in the strongest possible terms the actions of Senator Lidia Thorpe today at Parliament House where she hurled verbal abuse at our King. To show such utter disrespect to King Charles, who has traveled to Australia, despite ongoing cancer treatment, is disgusting. Senator Thorpe has disgraced not only herself and the Australian Parliament, but every Australian man, woman and child. Senator Thorpe demanded an apology from King Charles, I’d say it’s King Charles and the Australian people that should be demanding an apology from Senator Thorpe.

This woman publicly celebrates the death of Charlie Kirk, describing him as a “human water fountain.” In reference to the blood spilling from his neck when he was brutally murdered in front of thousands. She appears to take joy in his murder and spreads lies about him. Don’t just take my word for it, watch the compilation yourself. And this isn’t even all of it. The rest is on her TikTok and potentially other accounts. According to her own LinkedIn profile, she works in mental health for the Victorian Mental Illness Awareness Council (VMIAC). On their website, VMIAC claim they “continually seek to influence government policies.” But let’s ask the obvious question, is this really the kind of person who should be representing a mental health organisation? Someone who openly celebrates political assassination? That isn’t normal. That isn’t mentally sound. This is beyond disturbing. I urge you to contact her employer and voice your concern, I’ll be doing the same first thing in the morning. People like this are dangerous. Their unhinged attitudes will only incite more political assassination if left unchecked. On Monday, I asked the Foreign Minister, Minister Wong, how much Russian oil Australia indirectly purchases. The answer may surprise you. According to multiple reports, Australia is effectively one of the biggest buyers of Russian oil in the world. Not by importing it directly, but by purchasing refined fuel from countries that process Russian crude. Since 2022, Australia has imported about $24 billion worth. Of that, roughly $2.5 billion is believed to have flowed to Russia in the form of taxes, twice the Aid provided by Australia to Ukraine. Do you see the contradiction? At the end of the day, either Australia is a sovereign nation, or it isn’t. Either we prioritise the interests of Australians, or we continue pretending that these arrangements don’t exist. We are entangled in a conflict that is not ours, while quietly relying on a commodity from a nation we sanction and publicly condemn. Russia is not our enemy. Ukraine is not our enemy. This war is being prosecuted on a global stage, but the practical realities land squarely on everyday Australians. We need oil without it our country stops. It is time to stop pretending. It is time for Australia to stand on its own feet, avoid unnecessary international entanglements, and do what is plainly in the national interest. AUSTRALIA FIRST.
