Dear President Museveni, Your recent speech, calling homosexuality an “abomination” and saying “you can’t change your anus into a vagina,” was hurtful and dangerous. As a Ugandan gay man and LGBTIQ rights activist, I ask you to see us as people, your citizens deserving of respect and dignity. Your words fuel discrimination and violence against us.
