FUN FACT ABOUT EKSTRA MOVIE>> Vilma Santos>the legendary “Star for All Seasons”>starred as a struggling bit player or ekstra named Loida Malabanan. It was her first independent film. She fully deglamorized herself for the role and even waived her talent fee just because she loved the story. Imagine that: one of the biggest stars in Philippine cinema playing an extra who dreams of a big break while facing the harsh realities of the industry. Directed by Jeffrey Jeturian, the film became a Cinemalaya hit and won Vilma Best Actress. It reminds us that even the biggest stars can shine brightest when they step into the shoes of the unsung heroes.
