Even though the Government of Rwanda completely bans people from protesting in the streets, angry Rwandan women refuse to stay quiet. They are using social media to condemn the new Rwanda National Police rules. This is pure harassment and a direct attack on women, forcing them to dress a certain way. This completely breaks the Rwandan Constitution. #Rwanda is not an Islamic state! This young woman is furiously demanding that Paul Kagame’s regime wake up and face real problems. They must stop the terrible violence against women and the disgusting sexual corruption where women are forced to give sex just to get a job or a basic service. You killed #Karasira’s parents, and you denied him and his younger brother the assistance that other genocide survivors whose families were killed by the Interahamwe were given. Because he spoke about it, you chose to kill him. Now his younger brother #Aime has spoken out during his burial, disregarding the fact that you were the ones who came to preside over the burial of his older brother whom you killed. He said: "'I asked him why he always had such sadness, and he told me that our parents were killed by the Inkotanyi, and that is why we were denied the same rights as other genocide survivors. The #IGICUMBI Association made up of survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda that was founded after they realized that the FPR-Inkotanyi uses the Genocide against the Tutsi for its own political interests, They condemn the rhetoric of those who claim that the Genocide was planned by Tutsis and executed by Tutsis,essentially implying that Tutsis killed themselves. They urged those who use such rhetoric not to use the #RPF's role, including the shooting down of President #Habyarimana’s plane, as an excuse to ignore or downplay how that government planned and executed the Genocide. #AlbertGasake reflected on his experience during the Genocide, which he lived through when he was 10 years old. He stated that for those wishing to analyze whether "Genocide against the Tutsi" is indeed the correct terminology, there was no such confusion during the genocide itself; the person to be killed was known to be a #Tutsi, and they were killed by their own #Hutu neighbors whom they knew well. However, he reiterated that he disagrees with the #RPF’s rhetoric that accuses all Hutus of committing genocide. He noted that there were many #Hutus who never participated in killing Tutsis, adding that the Tutsis who managed to survive were hidden by noble Hutus. He expressed his gratitude to #Simon, the Hutu who hid him so he could survive. The leader of the IGICUMBI association, Dr. #PhilippeBasabose, explained that remembrance is an act of the heart. This is why they took the initiative to remember their loved ones without political interests involved, unlike what the #RPF does. He stated that every Rwandan has the right to remember their loved ones without anyone hovering over them or dictating how they should remember them. Addressing those who harass #IGICUMBI for remembering the Genocide against the Tutsi, he stated that instead of wasting their energy on that, they should take the lead in finding ways to remember the killings committed against #Hutus by some #RPA soldiers, as well as seeking justice for them. ✍️My take on this: Yes, the Genocide against the Tutsi happened, and genocide is committed by a government. After the #RPF took over the country, it also committed atrocities against #Hutus, forbade them from remembering their loved ones, and continues to use the Genocide against the Tutsi as a weapon to stay in power. For me, no one should tell another person how to remember their loved one. Everyone is allowed to remember theirs, because remembering your own loved one does not equate to denying that someone else also lost theirs. Let’s look at what my sister is actually saying. First, I am not arguing about the term ‘Genocide against the #Tutsi.’ It is a fact. Tutsis were hunted and killed just for being Tutsi, and Hutus did the killing. But let’s be honest about the story being told. While Hutu extremists were the killers, the Gacaca court records prove that most Hutus did not kill anyone. The story from the FPR-Inkotanyi is a lie. They try to make every Hutu look like a murderer just to shame the whole group. The official ceremonies are also unfair. They honor the Tutsis, which is right, but Hutus killed by the #Interahamwe or the #RPA get no respect from the country. By ignoring them, the government is treating these innocent victims like the monsters who killed them. Then there is the big lie: The government says there are no ethnic groups in Rwanda(#Ndi umunyarwanda ), but their whole definition of the genocide depends on those groups. It’s a joke. This confusing talk is why foreigners always ask: "Are you from the group that killed or the group that died❓ Make no mistake: Paul Kagame and the FPR-Inkotanyi are doing this on purpose. They want to hide their own part in the violence. From the shooting down of #Habyarimana’s plane ( that’s not justification for killing Tutsi’s tho) the killings in Byumba, Gakurozo, Kibeho, and the Congo, they are trying to bury history. I COMBINED THESE VIDEOS AND IT MAKES ME WONDER, WHY DOES KAGAME HATE RWANDANS? The boy you see is the last-born child of Apostle #MignoneKabera. She is a close friend of First Lady of Rwanda and the founder of Noble Family Church and Women Foundation Ministries. Even though many churches were closed down in Rwanda, no one touched hers. Her son was studying in America but later returned to Rwanda. He has everything: a nice car, eats well, and no one asks him for house rent. Yet, he says,👉 "Even though there is no happiness or joy in Rwanda, the moment I entered the church, I felt it was there, and I found peace." Paul Kagame knows very well that he has denied us freedom of expression. People go to church for it to act as a form of therapy so they can find peace, but he does not want that either. That’s foul . You’re really talking about “free education” like it means something? ❌ Stop lying to yourself. Yeah, it’s “free,” but the quality is trash . Most kids coming out of public schools can’t even hold a real conversation in English or French. The only ones who make it are the few whose parents have money 💸 for private schools. You got lucky , plus you’re abroad ✈️ where you get to practice English every day, and now you’re running your mouth like you earned it all alone. Miss me with that . Then you have the nerve to tell her to do diaspora-type jobs, cleaning toilets , making beds , washing dishes . Are you dumb or just disconnected❓In a country where families are going to bed hungry , who exactly do you think is paying someone to wash their dishes❓Your whole argument is reckless and out of touch, and honestly, it’s embarrassing 😤. And selling sugar cones on the street❓ Are you serious? Don’t you see security beating up pregnant women just for selling fruit in the name of “cleaning the city”❓But here you are suggesting street vending like it’s safe or realistic. That’s wild. An Open Letter to His Excellency President Paul Kagame Your Excellency, After carefully analyzing the speech you delivered at the 17th Congress of the ruling party, FPR-Inkotanyi , I felt compelled to share the following reflections and questions. I write this letter in the spirit of civic responsibility, hoping that you, or those who assist you, will consider and respond to these concerns. 🔹 1️⃣ Leadership Example and Public Conduct You acknowledged that some leaders in Rwanda display bad behavior, and you are fully aware that young people look to national leaders as role models. When you publicly insult people using words such as “#Pumbafu”, what example does this set for the youth? As President, how do you justify publicly insulting those you disagree with and suggesting that they should not believe they could ever become President, as though leadership were something one is born into rather than earned through a fair political process? 🔹 2️⃣ Political Space and the Path to Leadership We all know that political space in the country has been severely restricted. When you state that there is a path for someone to become President, could you clearly explain what that path is? What real and practical political space exists today for a citizen who genuinely aspires to contest for the presidency? 🔹 3️⃣ Youth Movements and Non-Violent Change I appreciate that you listened to the program of #MillenZMovementRw and that you understand why young people are fighting for their rights. However, it is concerning that you suggest such struggles could be pursued through violent means, similar to the armed struggle of 1990. We are now in 2025, in a world shaped by technology, dialogue, and peaceful civic engagement. Why not open the political space and allow others to do what you have failed to do after 31 years of total leadership in Rwanda? 🔹 4️⃣ Accountability at the Highest Level You said that leaders who betray citizens should be beaten. If many people believe that you are the source of the country’s major problems, are you personally ready to be held accountable by the same standard you propose? 🔹 5️⃣ Public Resources and Presidential Travel You complain that ministers travel abroad too often and say you plan to stop it. But who will stop you from your frequent travels, often accompanied by two or three private jets? Government of Rwanda rents these planes for you, yet you are also the owner of the planes being rented. Who can stop this conflict of interest, where public money is spent on renting aircraft owned by the sitting President, including all related expenses? 🔹 6️⃣ Security Institutions and Human Rights Concerns You concluded by praising security institutions across all sectors, especially the #RDF and the #RNP, stating that they are performing even better than you once dreamed. This raises serious questions. -Is this the vision you once had in mind: Rwanda Defence Force an army accused by international reports of committing sexual violence against women during military operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, linked to resource exploitation? -Is this Rwanda National Police force you envisioned,one shoots handcuffed civilians and later claiming they were attempting to fight security officers? -Is this the role you imagined for Rwanda Investigation Bureau , where critics allege it fabricates criminal charges against individuals who hold opposing political views? Your Excellency Paul Kagame , these questions are raised not out of hostility, but from a desire for transparency, accountability, and a genuinely open political environment for all Rwandans,particularly the younger generation whose future depends on today’s leadership decisions. Minister Nelly Mukazayire constantly repeating that her mother participated in the Genocide against the Tutsi,and then highlighting her own rise to power,isn’t a sign of "unity" or "equality." It’s a calculated stunt. It’s just Paul Kagame playing his cards to look like a "great mediator" to the world. The fact that #NellyMukazayire’s mother was involved in the genocide should not be a defining story. As an educated professional, #Nelly’s position should be seen as a result of her own competence rather than a favor. Under the law, criminal responsibility is individual, not collective. However, there are concerns that her success is used as a propaganda tool to convince the international community that #Rwanda has an open political space and equal opportunities for everyone, potentially silencing critics in exile. This strategy suggests a preference for officials who may not feel empowered to challenge the existing state of affairs. There is also significant criticism regarding the #kagame’s past narrative that Hutu group must apologize for the actions of their parents. Such a narrative risks labeling an entire generation with "genocide ideology" based on their background, which hinders true healing. Real reconciliation requires the state to allow all Rwandans to grieve their loved ones freely. Justice must be applied to all sides; any individuals within the #RPA who committed crimes should be held accountable just as the Interahamwe were. The use of a painful history to maintain political power must stop. National stability should not rely on maintaining fear among one group or perpetual guilt in another.
