I want to ask the students screaming “Death to America”, do you have any idea what happens when American values die? Because I do. My family fled Iran, a country where freedom died. You don’t know what you have until it’s gone. You think America is oppressive because you have never experienced real oppression. You think silence is violence because you’ve never been silenced. You think words are dangerous because you have never watched a government drag someone away for speaking them. You think capitalism is evil because you have never stood in a bread line. You think borders are immoral because you have never had to flee across one. You think revolution is romantic because you have never had a revolution take everything from you. I have. And that’s why I refuse to be quiet.

I studied Islam at Columbia University because I needed to understand what it says in the Quran that forced my family to flee Iran under gunfire after the Islamic revolution. I’ve read the Quran. I know what it says to do to Jews. And no one can deny it to me because I studied it. And here’s the truth: Sharia Law is not compatible with the West.

The mullahs have made their choice. They will cling to power until there is nothing left to rule. That’s the Catch-22. President Trump doesn’t want to destroy Iran’s oil fields, power grid, and critical infrastructure because those assets belong to the Iranian people… not the regime. If the regime falls, Iran will need those resources to rebuild. But the longer the mullahs refuse to surrender, the more likely it is that the country will be left in ruins. This regime has always valued its own survival over Iran’s future. The tragedy is that the Iranian people will be the ones forced to rebuild what the mullahs were so willing to sacrifice.

If you think America is the problem, you have no idea what the world looks like without America. And if you think Israel is the problem, you have no idea what the Middle East looks like without Israel. That is what they hate, and that is why the hatred starts with the Jews but never ends with the Jews. The Jews are the warning sign. Israel is the warning sign. When a movement becomes obsessed with destroying the Jewish state, pay attention. When people begin excusing violence against Jews because they believe Jews are too powerful, too privileged, too white, too successful, pay attention. When college students start deciding that some victims deserve sympathy and Jewish victims deserve an asterisk, pay attention. When they tell you every problem in your life is not your fault but someone else’s, and that you don’t have free will, pay attention. I am telling you, I have seen this movie before. My family fled the first version, and I refuse to let my children live through the sequel.

Iran’s definition of success is just to survive. They don’t care if the Iranian people starve. They don’t care if the economy goes to hell. They don’t care about any of that. All they care about is an Islamic caliphate destroying Israel, destroying America. They’re very patient, and they will come back and fight another day. So unless there is full and complete regime change, they see it as a success.

I’m not a warmonger, I just know too much about this evil regime in Iran and how they operate. “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” is their stated goal and their life’s purpose. There is no point negotiating with them. You need to go in and go in strong and root out this cancer. Because otherwise, it’s just mowing the lawn, it’s kicking the can down the road, and they will not stop.

Having studied in the classrooms of Columbia University, I've always valued the institution's dedication to intellectual diversity and open discourse. However, the recent events unfolding on campus, with anti-Israel, terrorist-supporting protests and inflammatory rhetoric, are deeply troubling. As an alumna, I believe it's crucial for Columbia University to uphold its principles of inclusivity of thought while safeguarding the rights of all students, including those of Jewish descent. Columbia has stopped receiving donations from many alumni, including me, since they failed to stop the student body from passing a BDS resolution. They will continue to not receive a penny from me in donations until this antisemitism problem is cleaned up. Furthermore, I will continue to use my social media platform to expose their failures and demand action. It's imperative for the university administration to start taking definitive steps to address and condemn any form of discrimination or hostility targeting Jewish students. Call in the National Guard. Stop taking money from foreign bad actors. Fire terrorist sympathizers on staff. Expel students who break the law. These are all adults. And they must be held accountable.

If the Iranian regime survives, they win. And the Iranian people and the rest of the world lose. I have a friend in the Middle East right now, and the consensus there is that Iran is winning. People in America hear that and say, “How? Their military is destroyed. Their navy is destroyed.” Here is how. Russia and China will help them rebuild. They will charge tariffs in the Strait of Hormuz and blackmail the world with oil prices. The only path forward is full regime change and freedom for the Iranian people.

The Islamic regime in Iran is lying. They’ve lied and deceived the world for a long time. In Islam there’s a concept called taqiyya which means you’re allowed to lie or say whatever you need in order to advance the cause of Islam. We can’t fall for their lies this time. The Iranian people must be freed from the Islamic Republic.

Unlike, the Islamist regime that rules Iran, Iranians don’t want jihad. They want freedom from the ayatollahs. My family fled under gunfire in 1985 to escape this dangerous regime.
