Oakland's 9-1-1 system has been deteriorating for years. This is why my Administration updated outdated equipment, replaced backup power systems, and ensured our 9-1-1 dispatchers were fully staffed for the first time in years. While these improvements have made a difference, we still have a lot of work to do to ensure we respond to emergencies in a timely manner. This is why my midcycle budget adjustment maintains enhanced 9-1-1 investments.
