I bit the bullet and set Jackson up with a driver fitting this evening. I knew he hit it far, but didn’t know any of his numbers. Spoke to the pro after the fitting who sent me this video: Fastest swing was 118 mph. Ball speeds mid 160s into the 170s He has been playing my old clubs which were stiff shafts so he was a bit wild off the tee before. Fitter fit him into a Titleist driver head with an X-stiff shaft. Got the spin rates down to the low 2000s and he said Jackson’s control with the Titleist was remarkable. I am sooooooooo screwed. I could out drive him before because I could control my spin. I figured my older head and weaker shaft was hurting him. I could watch his semi-weird swing all day long. His back swing to me, while on plane, does not look very powerful, but his lag is sooo natural and he uses his 6 foot, 210 pound frame to send it. So awesome to see him playing the game again! #NonGolfHistory

Played Brown Deer in Coralville, Iowa with my son after showing him where his classes will be in the Fall Semester. I beat him handedly because I tried to weaken his insanely strong grip (which threw off his whole game). With a neutral grip and a little practice he would be a low handicap or scratch. He just took 8 years off to play lacrosse. When he controls his spin he hits the ball well over 300 yards and his wedge game is dangerous. Both my kids have better swings than dad.

The renovation of Belleair CC’s East Course involves moving some seriously mature trees. The process and planning for moving these trees is very thorough. The result- a completely renovated golf course with a seasoned feel to it. Unlike the restoration of our West course, the East is only restoring about a third of Ross’ design. Why not restore it all? It was an impossible task- back in the 1980s our current clubhouse was built over the original driving range. At that time we built a new driving range and lost two par threes and the opening holes of the East. Around that same time the club needed a irrigation pond for the 36 holes, which ate up a good portion of Ross’ East Course design on the other side of the road. The result of that redesign was a course which had 6 subpar golf holes. This renovation will create a better golf course designed to challenge all skill levels. I am very excited to have a better East Course!

My son’s swing on a 350 yard drive. He has gotten to a point just about 2 months into his comeback to the game that his bad drives are past my good drives. My only saving grace is my short game. On the first hole I hit my drive 303. He semi-mishit his to 304. He has an insane strong grip but his lag is a thing of wonder. Need to get him equipment and some lessons.

I told my daughter that if she broke her high school’s lacrosse save record I would buy her a new acoustic guitar. Then she plays this at Guitar Center- I think this is why it’s called”Pulling on one’s heart strings.” I could listen to her play this literally forever.

I hope this doesn’t come off as cruel because I absolutely love Scotland. During my stay here, I have eaten four hamburgers. One of them, I could only eat a bite of, the second two bites, the third and fourth I ate a bit more than half. I am taste testing a McDonald’s Hamburger in Edinburgh for you. For the record I am not fond of American Fast Food Hamburgers and of them McDonald’s is one of my least favorite. #NonGolfHistory

Drove home from Augusta and got roped into announcing the my daughter’s lacrosse playoff game this evening. The cool thing- I got to announce her 100th save of the season!!!! I will ask my spotter to get a better video:) We get done with this game at 9PM and I will jump in the car and start driving back to Augusta!!! #NonGolfHistory
