What were these students thinking? I genuinely don't understand it. From what I've seen, this doesn't look like a split-second mistake. It raises serious questions about planning, intent, and what they expected would happen after the fires were started. I've never watched footage of an arson incident before, and it's difficult to comprehend how someone could knowingly start a fire in a dormitory full of students and not anticipate the potential consequences. This is Singapore's President flying on a commercial Laos Airlines flight to attend an international engagement. Not only is he using a commercial airline, but the plane also has ordinary civilian passengers on board. So what exactly prevents President Ruto from using Kenya Airways? Every single day, newspapers and TV stations already carry government launches, promises, road projects, speeches and PR headlines. But now exposing corruption, failed policies, abductions, unemployment, overtaxation and public anger is supposedly โtoo negativeโ? That is extremely dangerous. The media is not meant to protect politicians from embarrassment. Its job is to expose problems before they destroy a country. Imagine going to hospital with a painful rotten toothโฆ then the doctor tells you: โWhy are you focusing on the tooth? Not everything is negative this week. I came across a video of a Kenyan commander in Congo handling a very tense situation and honestly, respect. Locals had blocked UN forces, accusing MONUSCO of working with ADF and M23 rebels (the same group linked to killing a Kenyan truck driver recently). He claims that if Kenya abandons the G-to-G fuel deal, the country could run out of fuel because nations without โdedicated suppliersโ face shortages. That is simply false. Tanzania has no G-to-G fuel deal. Yet Tanzanians still buy fuel every day. Many other countries import fuel without locking citizens into opaque arrangements that enrich a few connected individuals. Kenyans are being blackmailed into believing there is only one way to import fuel. No. There is competition. There are open markets. There is transparency. The painful truth is this: G-to-G has become a channel for a few people to make billions while ordinary Kenyans pay some of the highest fuel costs in the region. And every extra shilling on fuel means: Higher food prices. Higher transport costs. Higher cost of living. We are not stupid.
