Prime Minister Carney is trying to organize a middle-power alternative to the United States with partners who, when it matters, are choosing Washington. Europe chose Washington on trade. The United Kingdom chose Washington on security. Yet Carney has tilted decisively toward Beijing. Our geography defines our national and economic security. The Prime Minister should not put Canada in the crosshairs between Beijing and Washington when our interests and alliances are deeply aligned with the West.

A law professor at Queens describes Hamas as a “non state armed group” and “Palestinian armed groups” attacking “legitimate military targets” against an “occupying force.” Hamas is a listed terror organization, that has no legitimacy to attack anything. And Gaza has not been occupied for over 18 years.

He condemns Israel for an "illegal invasion,” condemning the Jewish State for defending itself from Hezbollah - a Canadian-listed terror entity raining rockets on Israeli civilians. Yesterday, four Israeli soldiers were killed in Lebanon by that same terror group. Not a single word of recognition for the soldiers killed by terrorists. Not a single word for the families still living under cluster bombs and ballistic missiles. Not a word for a people and their state living under hellfire and hate. It is a reoccurring pattern with this Liberal government. The Prime Minister gets it exactly wrong: Extending one hand of friendship to our enemies, while slapping our friends in the face with the other one.

Whether there are 700 or 200 agents of Iranian terror on our streets, the number doesn’t matter. The answer should be zero. Not one official tied to the IRGC should be walking freely in Canada. Not one should be exploiting our system. Not one should be finding safe haven here while the regime they serve terrorizes its own people and threatens ours at home. We gave the Liberals a week. They still have only deported one.

Prime Minister Mark Carney walked away from the trade table while 500 projects remain stalled at home. Any self respecting nation fights for itself. It defends its borders and its people, it builds economic and military strength, and acts on its interests. The response to Washington and the world is to build the pipelines, ports, mines and industry that make us indispensable. Unleash unprecedented economic growth in the face of tariffs. A government reluctant to build Canadian strength cannot credibly project it.

In a nine-minute “address” to Canadians, the Prime Minister chose to stoke anxiety. Not to solve a problem, but to hide that he is nowhere near where he needs to be ahead of critical CUSMA negotiations. U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra said the quiet part out loud: there has been no serious negotiations since October. There have also been no serious decisions to unleash Canadian oil, gas, and critical minerals - even as markets EVERYWHERE are placing a premium on stable jurisdictions for supply. We aren’t building strength at home. We aren’t negotiating with strength abroad. Our future isn’t European, it’s our generational geography of North America. It’s time to shed the mindset of managing middling decline, and replace it with the strength and ambition of a major power.
