Shuv, well said on a divisive hot button topic which is well evidenced by the previous comments to this post. Most voters sit in the center, with a minority to the far left and far right. These extremists on both sides have the loudest voices. The far left progressive left use the three M's to divide the center under the guise of inclusion. We see this playing out today in the US Democrat party due to the short 2 year election cycle in the House of Represetatives. In Canada, with longer election cycles it has become more entrenched and thus more extreme. A case in point is the survival of successive Liberal minority governments through the Trudeau and current Carney regimes. In all cases, the swing policies were focused on the divisive nature of the three M's. What has resulted is polarization, due to government policy directed at the extremes under the hope that those in the center will plug their noses and go along with it. Today Canada is paying the price. Our nation is divided regionally, racially, ideologically and economically. All the while our standard of living drops, economic prosperity decreases, with debate of divisive extreme ideology taking presidence. Unless we face these issues head on, Canada as we know it is doomed to balkenization. Kudos for stepping into the gunfight!!
