A law firm is appointed to represent the NYDA Board Chairperson in her personal case against a Sunday Times journalist. No one knows what process was followed. CFO doesn’t know. Company Secretary doesn’t know. Legal Office doesn’t know. Public resources are going to be used, and no one knows what process was followed. This is why we need the youth to register to vote!

President Thabo Mbeki touches on the Nugent Commission, established by President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018 and chaired by Judge Robert Nugent, to investigate governance failures, capture and the deliberate destruction of South African Revenue Services (SARS). I am sure President Mbeki would fall off his chair if he were to find out that one of the senior SARS executives who was suspended during the post-Nugent clean up in 2019 has now been appointed by Buti Manamela as the Administrator of NSFAS to look after over R 50 Billion meant for students annually. In the same way a political decision was taken to destroy SARS, a political decision seems to have been taken to destroy NSFAS. Perhaps, we must write to SARS and the National Treasury about this dodgy appointment.

“Shangaan suka endleleni” is tribalist. Shangaan/Tsonga people are South Africans. I don’t understand why people like Herman Mashaba are excited by this because his own family may be at risk of being targeted if we allow this tribalist attitude against South African citizens.

TVET Colleges should ALL be FREE. The argument is simple👇🏿 If an overwhelming majority of TVET college students are NSFAS eligible and funded, why does government need so many layers of funding distribution? If government is serious about efficiency, a decision must immediately be taken to make all TVET colleges FREE. Young people should simply walk in and register, without any financial and/or bureaucratic hurdles.

On 18 March, this year, we interacted with the University of Pretoria (UP). We thanked the VC for making submissions to the EFF Student Debt Bill, and asked about the rationale behind withholding certificates of graduates 🎓 Today, we wake up to the news that UP has launched a R 50 Million Campaign to clear debt and release withheld certificates. Although, the number is relatively low, this is a good initiative which will become a pressure point for our struggle against Student Debt. We will win! We have to, for the future of this country. #RegisterToVoteEFF Link:

EFF President makes a crucial point, missed by many 🔥 It’s a lie that Donald Trump took the decision to halt AID because of misinformation. The US has the strongest military intelligence in the world, it can’t be misled by stupid Afrikaners. Afriforum is a political scapegoat!

Another major governance problem in the NYDA is that there are essentially 3 CEOs. I don’t understand why we need an Executive Board Chair and Executive Board Deputy Chair when the Youth Agency already has a CEO. The Board is way too operational! Worse the Board Chairperson says that the Executive Management Committee (EMC) meets every 3 months. How can an operation committee meet every 3 months? Fundamentals of Corporate Governance are clear that the Board should provide oversight, while the CEO manages the day to day affairs of the entity. I actually feel very sorry for the CEO, who must navigate competing centres of authority. Though, it’s a historic policy issue that predates this Board, my suspicion is that the ANC created this structure to give politicians in the Board more grip over the operations of the entity. That’s how the stealing starts!

I asked a simple question. In the most respectful manner. I didn’t shout. I didn’t belittle anyone. So we must just allow ANC Comrades to loot and STEAL money meant for unemployed youth and students 💔 It will never happen. Next week I’m asking AGAIN. This Chair is a FRAUD!

After the CHEAP celebrations by the ANC–DA GNU, a terrifying and painful reality will set in. Over 656 000 learners passed Matric. Over 345 000 of them qualify for University Admission. Yet, DHET has less than 200 000 spaces across Universities and TVET Colleges for First-Time Entering Students. Meaning, HALF A MILLION young people will be pushed into the ranks of the NEET Youth (Not in Employment, Education, or Training). Already, close to 4 MILLION young people are trapped in the NEET category. If public funds were not being STOLEN from SETAs, CETs, NSF, and related skills programs, these learners could ALL be absorbed into Post-School Education, which extends beyond Universities and TVET Colleges. #MatricResults2025

The most PRACTICAL and REALISTIC way for young people to bring change in South Africa is by REGISTERING TO VOTE. We must be very honest. Unemployment, Student Debt, NSFAS failures, lack of skills development, poverty, economic exclusion etc. are all products of political decisions. If, we, as the youth, do not register to vote, the bad leaders will remain in power and continue to destroy our lives and future. It’s that simple. Thank you Prof Prof Onkgopotse JJ Tabane and Frank Dialogue!

Today we met our parents, the workers of the University of the Western Cape (UWC), to outline the EFF's Insourcing Bill, which is at an advanced stage in Parliament. We promised them that we will bring the EFF TG, Commissar Omphile Maotwe, who is championing it. Outsourcing is the most exploitative and cruel practice in our public institutions. Only the corrupt, who want to benefit from tenders, will support outsourcing while workers receive slave wages and abusive treatment. The EFF Bill will ensure that workers are insourced, and receive full benefits. It’s time to empower our people directly, not ANC Tenderpreneurs.

NSFAS Board Members have come out to say that the Minister of Higher Education, Buti Manamela, interfered in the appointment of the CEO by convening secret meetings and instructing them to delay Board Meetings. We are now going to summon former NSFAS Board Members to come testify under oath. We refuse to surrender over R 50 Billion meant to service students to criminal elements!

The Minister of Higher Education, Buti Manamela, agrees with the EFF submission that ALL TVET Colleges in South Africa should be FREE! We shall follow up on this until it is realised. Our logic is simply; if over 90% TVET College students are NSFAS funded, then why do we need middleman schemes? Money must move directly from National Treasury to Colleges, and our students must simply register without any financial blockages. On this we align with the Ballim Report!

In what world does a Minister appoint a SETA Administrator without a remuneration contract/package for more than 4 months? Worse, the Administrator signs off his own salary of R 3 Million without any approval. Buti Manamela is running this department like a spaza shop!

The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), which recognises professional bodies under the NQF Act, is the latest body to throw its weight behind the EFF Parliamentary Intervention to Scrap Registration Fees for Unemployed Graduates/Professionals. Watch the space! Teachers, Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Accountants, Pharmacists etc. the EFF is fighting for you!

In the morning, we shared a light moment with a young person, studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town (UCT). Sfiso will be voting for the very first time in the 2026 Local Government Elections! Our most urgent task is to register young people to vote. Once they are registered we have no doubt that they will vote for the EFF, because the EFF is the only organisation that fights for the needs and interests of young people! Link: #RegisterToVoteEFF

Here is another ANC Minister INSULTING unemployed people, saying they make “noise” and “march every day” because “they have no work to do”. First it was Gwede Mantashe. Then Cyril Ramaphosa. Now Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana. They all don’t want to take responsibility.

It does not matter how many times you scream at the EFF. We will never get tired of reminding you that you are crying in the wrong funeral. President Cyril Ramaphosa 🇿🇦 promised 10 000 additional labour inspectors to crack down on illegal employment practices. Where are they? The law already requires employers to verify documentation and work permits. The same government promised South Africans R 500 Million to empower the local Spaza Shop economy. Where is the R 500 Million for Spaza Shops? We will not join unguided anger, inhumanity and vigilantism. You keep voting for this government, yet you refuse to hold it accountable!
