And it’s not because the U.S. lacks technology — it’s because the U.S. simply does not have the massive potash deposits that Canada has. Canada World’s #1 potash producer Provides over 30% of global production Saskatchewan alone holds ~half of the world’s known potash reserves Canada’s potash industry is enormous, highly efficient, and built around some of the richest deposits on Earth. United States The U.S. produces very small quantities(mainly from New Mexico and Utah, mostly from brines) Total U.S. production is roughly 1–2% of global supply U.S. production cannot expand dramatically because its geological reserves are limited Could America ever match Canadian output?
