Nikita Zadorov does not agree with this comment from Marchand: “That's why I'm playing hockey. I don't want to go out there, play 82 games, and not make the playoffs. I think that’s a waste of the year for me. You know what I mean? You want to play these games.”

Charlie McAvoy says the ice at Raymond James Stadium was “pretty patchy” and “real soft” for today’s practice. The NHL should benefit from cold temperatures in Tampa tomorrow, with it expected to dip into the 30s during the game.

Jeremy Swayman on fighting Andrei Vasilevskiy: “Fighting the biggest, toughest goalie in the league. So, wouldn't be my first choice.” Did he know Vasilevskiy was a southpaw? “No.”

Tanner Jeannot says Mathieu Olivier is “one of the toughest, if not the toughest guy in the league,” and that it took “a lot of guts” for Mark Kastelic to fight him. “Kasty’s been doing it all year. He’s heart and soul. Gives everything for us every night.”

Charlie McAvoy on this year being more fun than last year: “I don't want to take a shot at last year or anything, because there's a lot of guys that aren't here anymore that I love deeply, but I think the chemistry this year, it feels a little different.”

James Hagens and Will Moore skated at Bruins development camp today despite having the option not to after multiple travel delays. They didn’t get to the hotel until 4am. Hagens: “You’d have to cut off my leg to tell me I couldn’t get on that ice.”
