Final beta testing for Till & Hat has been underway this past week, and I'm pleased to say the game is perfectly compatible with real hardware from start to finish. Of course, plenty of plain old gameplay bugs were found, but the list is getting exhausted by now. Almost there...

Found the time to get the new Mega Man Genesis engine up and running. Very proud of the results! 0 lag frames in this whole scene. The old engine (Sequel Wars Episode Red) would've hitched like crazy. I know Ep Blue is taking time but trust me, it'll be worth it.

Tip: you don't actually have to dodge Guts Man's stun. It always lasts the same amount and it's only applied once. If you try to jump it and miss the timing, it'll wear out too late, but if you just stand in place and take it right away, it'll wear out in time for you to dodge.

Big pool of sprites on SNES gave me a unique opportunity: Instead of building the sprite table each frame, I tie sprite and entity slots together, allowing for selective updates with simpler calculations. Saves many cycles so I can spawn lots of particles+DMA. #snesdev #gamedev
