BATUK: BRITAIN'S COLONIAL GRIP IN KENYA BATUK: The White Man’s Burden in Kenya is not just a documentary about a British military base where soldiers roll around in the dirt for six months before returning home to the UK. It is a documentary about abuse of power, occupation of indigenous land and the unfinished business of colonialism. For decades, ordinary Kenyans living around BATUK have raised allegations of abuse, sexual violence, ecological destruction and impunity, while one of the world’s most powerful former colonial powers continues to operate freely on Kenyan soil, handing out small amounts of compensation whenever evidence of alleged crimes reaches the media. At the centre of the documentary is the story of Agnes Wanjiru, a 21-year-old Kenyan woman who was tortured, killed and dumped in a septic tank, while British soldiers mocked and ridiculed her death on social media. One soldier posed in front of the septic tank and posted, “If you know, you know.” Others joked about the five-month-old daughter she left behind, posting imagery of a baby beside a gravesite. But the story goes beyond Agnes and her tragic killing and the shocking behaviour of British troops thereafter. The documentary asks deeper questions: How did Britain maintain a military presence in Kenya, the very same year the country supposedly gained independence? Why are foreign troops still training on stolen land while local communities continue to suffer? And above all, why does the Kenyan government allow all of this? Laikipia County, currently in the spotlight because of plans for an Ebola quarantine facility for US citizens, is the very same county where the BATUK military base is headquartered. This documentary helps connect the dots about why Kenya’s political elite remain so willing to cede sovereignty to foreign powers like Britain, and why they may be willing to do the same again with the United States. This is Sovereign Media’s first-ever documentary. We are a small, independent team with a brand-new YouTube channel and no corporate backing. We need your support now more than ever. Watch. Share. POLICE BRUTALITY ON THE PITCH BEFORE WORLD CUP The heavily securitised and aggressive nature of American law enforcement has spilled onto the football pitch, raising severe concerns just as the World Cup begins. During a pre-World Cup friendly match between Ecuador and Guatemala held in Ohio, US police were filmed violently dragging away a fan who had invaded the pitch. The heavy-handed response immediately disrupted the match and sparked a tense confrontation on the field. Ecuador’s star midfielder and Chelsea player, Moisés Caicedo, was forced to step in directly, actively intervening with the officers in an attempt to calm the situation and protect the spectator from escalating police aggression. The incident serves as a stark preview of what critics warn is an overly militarised security apparatus hosting the international tournament. As the US faces intense scrutiny for using its administrative borders and police state tactics to control and suppress global audiences, this display of immediate physical force highlights a glaring cultural clash. For fans arriving from the Global South, the beautiful game in North America is being policed with the uncompromising hostility of the imperial state.

NIGERIA IS NOW DIRECTLY UNDER US STATE CAPTURE BREAKING: U.S. Embassy in Nigeria Now Directly Coordinates With NSA’s Office To Arrest Nigerian Citizens Over Criticism of Israel, USA In a stunning development, the United States Embassy in Nigeria has established a direct coordination framework with the Office of the National Security Adviser to monitor the social media activities of Nigerian citizens, directly recommending individuals for arrest and prosecution based on their online criticism of Israel and the United States. Under this framework, exclusively revealed to Sovereign Media, two Nigerian social media users, Sani Buhari and Abubakar Adamu, were recently arrested by the Department of State Security Services (DSS) and charged in court for posts on X that were critical of Israel's genocide in Palestine, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and US president Donald Trump. Buhari was eventually released, but only after posting a clearly forced apology to the US Embassy on his X handle by the DSS, while Adamu remains in custody. Since Bola Ahmed Tinubu took power in Nigeria in 2023, West Africa's erstwhile regional pillar, whose foreign policy still officially follows an "Africa First" doctrine, has increasingly begun operating as a satellite extension of western powers, including France and the US. For example, in December 2025, during a coup attempt in Benin, Tinubu deployed Nigerian air and ground forces to quell the attempt on the orders of French president Emmanuel Macron. The escalating pattern of policy decisions and geopolitical moves locking Nigeria into multiple security partnerships with western governments is raising the real possibility of the country being retrofitted into a vassal state without the ability to set its own internal security priorities, with foreign interests dictating what its citizens are allowed to say. If Nigeria's compromised foreign policy posture is not addressed quickly, Africa could see one of its most important countries abandon its historic role as a pillar of Pan-African support and turn into the continent's most dangerous vassal state. NYT CONCEDES MOSSAD BEHIND IRAN RIOTS The NYT joins a long list of institutions, influencers, and politicians that concede that the riots in Iran at the start of the year were a result of foreign meddling - particularly, by the CIA and Mossad. Marketed as organic to generate public consent for war on Iran, the riots that spread across Iran were exposed as foreign meddling operations well before they reached their peak. Now, the same media institutions that peddled the riots as organic are now admitting the role of imperialist intelligence agencies in sparking them - as part of a larger plan to topple the Islamic Republic of Iran. ZIMBABWE PRESIDENT SCHOOLS TUCKER CARLSON This exchange between right wing commentator Tucker Carlson and Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the World Governments Summit is revealing, not for what Carlson uncovers, but for how clearly he echoes a long standing Western distortion of African history. Carlson frames Zimbabwe’s land reform as a racial injustice against white farmers, recycling a narrative that strips colonialism of context. Mnangagwa pushes back, calmly but firmly, reminding him of a basic historical truth: Zimbabwe was colonised, its land violently seized by settlers, and independence required reclaiming what was taken. Land was never “white” or “black”; it belonged to the native Africans who were systemically dispossessed. The liberation struggle, led by the late Robert Mugabe representing ZANU and the late Joshua Nkomo representing ZAPU, was not just about establishing a Western-style democratic system; it was first and foremost about reclaiming land. Hence, the Lancaster Agreement was signed in London and stipulated that the British state should compensate white farmers for land reclaimed by the newly independent state. But when the British reneged on their promises and veterans who had sacrificed their lives for independence became frustrated that they were still landless over 20 years after independence, they started pressuring the ZANU PF government, led by Mugabe, to push through the land reform Carlson references, without giving any historical context. What followed the land reform decades were economic sanctions designed to punish African self-determinationn. This is how colonialism survives: not only through force, but through narrative. By rewriting history, erasing context, and manufacturing moral outrage, Western media launders power into “concern” and calls it journalism. HARRY POTTER ACTOR ON PALESTINE ACTION British actor Alfred Enoch, who starred in the Harry Potter franchise and How to Get Away with M*rder, spoke with Sovereign Media on 26 November 2025, outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London, England. Hundreds gathered in support of Palestine Action, a UK-based organisation that was proscribed as a t*rrorist organisation on 5 June 2025, a move described by Alfred Enoch as “one of many repressive measures this government has taken to suppress the Palestine solidarity movement.” Originating in the United Kingdom, Palestine Action is responsible for targeting Israel’s arms industry across the globe, predominantly focusing on Elbit Systems, an Israeli private arms company that markets its weaponry as battlefield tested, as such items have already proven to be effective against the Palestinian people. The group was banned after claiming responsibility for targeting RAF Brize Norton, breaking into the airbase and causing over £7 million worth of damage, specifically by spray-painting two RAF Voyager planes. “At least one of the Voyager aircraft targeted by Palestine Action, moreover, had been involved in military operations in support of Israel. ZZ338 was used to facilitate airstrikes on Yemen in February 2024, which were conducted in no small part to shield Israel from the consequences of its g*nocide in Gaza”, according to DeclassifiedUK. Multiple arrests occurred, predominantly of those aged 60+, as they sat peacefully outside the Royal Courts of Justice, for holding a placard that reads “I oppose g*nocide. I support Palestine Action” as the courts were carrying out a judicial review of the government’s decision to proscribe the group as a terrorist organisation. Many political commentators have expressed outrage that the United Kingdom, which prides itself as a beacon of free speech, to the extent that it's willing to invade Afghanistan and later Iraq in the name of democracy, is arresting protesters, predominantly the elderly, for exercising their democratic right to form an assembly and protest. U.S. ADMITS REAL MOTIVE IN VENEZUELA In a recent address, U.S. Southern Command chief General Laura Richardson said out loud what Washington has long denied: that its true concern in Latin America is not democracy or human rights, but control. Control over oil, lithium, gold, and rare earth minerals, the raw materials that sustain Western militaries, industries, and empires. Richardson openly singled out Venezuela, a nation sitting on the planet's largest proven oil reserves and vast deposits of strategic minerals. For decades, Washington's policies of sanctions, coups, and economic warfare have been justified in the name of 'freedom' or 'democracy promotion'. But her remarks confirm what millions across the Global South already knew: this has always been about taking over markets, not liberation. From the jungles of the Amazon to the oil-rich Orinoco Belt, U.S. power operates like a 21st-century colonial enterprise, draining nations of their wealth while branding resistance as "dictatorship." The empire does not defend democracy; it defends access. And when a nation like Venezuela refuses to kneel, it becomes the next target in a long line of regime change projects stretching from Baghdad to Caracas. General Richardson did not make a mistake. She told the truth. The empire has spoken, and it is not peace it wants. It is possession. HOW UK SCAMMED IRAN Boris Johnson, a former Prime Minister of the Uk, former foreign secretary and former Mayor of London revealed in an interview with Arab journalist Ammar Taqi that the UK had effectively scammed Iran. He went to explain that the Shah of Iran had paid 400 million pounds for Chieftain tanks, ones that were then never sold to Iran and instead sold to others including Iran's arch-rival, Saddam Hussain. He said the UK had "sold the same camel twice" adding that it was classic British maneuver just like they had done in Palestine. The takeaways here are clear, first that colonial entities like the UK have long had no integrity in their dealings whether they be military or diplomatic. Secondly, the audacity and almost unserious manner in which Johnson breaks this down shows how Empire is shameless even when admitting its own wrongdoing. Ironically, it is Iran that is demonized, and Palestinian resistance scrutinized yet as is clear in this interview it is always Empire that commits the first transgression. THE UAE’S PORT IMPERIALISM In this compelling excerpt, former Ethiopian diplomat Mohammad Hasan exposes the Port Imperialism project spearheaded by the UAE’s Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ) - a calculated geopolitical strategy to dominate the maritime lifelines of Africa and the Middle East. Hasan outlines a sweeping plan to seize control of critical gateways, with the UAE aiming to control every major African port stretching from the eastern Sudanese city of Port Sudan all the way down to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. The project extends across the Gulf to dominate all Yemeni ports up to Mukalla. The goal, Hasan suggests, is to ensure that Dubai surpasses Singapore as the world's premier maritime hub. But how did a desert state acquire the intelligence to execute such a vast maritime takeover? Hasan points to a colonial legacy. The UK, the former colonial power in South Yemen, reportedly provided the foundational data for this project. Indeed, by 1951, Aden was the second-biggest port in the world. The UAE is now said to be using that colonial blueprint to resurrect a new era of coastal control. The former diplomat further alleges that this project is not being executed in isolation. He links the UAE's Port Imperialism directly to the Abraham Accords to normalise with Isr*el, claiming that Mossad's second office is in Dubai and operates in tandem with Isr*eli and US interests to secure regional dominance. Thus, if the UAE succeeds in controlling the coasts, it can position itself as the gatekeeper of three continents, backed by old colonial secrets and new intelligence alliances.

HOW THE US GOT PAKISTAN'S IMRAN KHAN REMOVED AND IMPRISONED He was an Oxford graduate, a cricket world champion, the west called him the "sexiest man alive", but when he became Pakistan's prime minister and pushed for sovereignty, the US got him removed and thrown in jail. A newly released classified Pakistani cipher reveals how US officials in the Biden administration pressured Pakistan’s military establishment to remove Imran Khan after he refused to fully align with Washington on drones base access, the Russia-Ukraine war, and foreign policy. This new revelation offers another confirmation into how empire operates behind closed doors and why leaders pursuing independent sovereign policies face immense consequences. Imran Khan remains in solitary confinement in Pakistan. But this story's meaning goes beyond Islamabad. It is a story about power, sovereignty and the realities of empire in the 21st century.

EXPOSED: BRITAIN’S MILITARY GRIP ON KENYA A must-watch documentary exposing the British military base in Kenya known as BATUK is dropping on June 2, 2026. Sovereign Media’s first-ever documentary investigates allegations of abuse, sexual violence and ecological damage linked to Britain’s military presence in Kenya. The film explores how Britain established a military base in Kenya, the very same year the country supposedly gained independence from colonial rule. Through interviews, historical context and on-the-ground reporting, the documentary looks at the lasting impact of colonialism in Kenya and how both the colonial government in London and the post-colonial administration of Jomo Kenyatta feared that the Mau Mau liberation struggle would not end until the land was returned to its rightful owners. The documentary explores the argument that Britain was allowed to maintain a military presence in Kenya in 1963 to help crush revolutionary movements and ensure the new neo-colonial government continued serving British interests after so-called independence. COULD FRENCH COMPANIES BE FINANCING GENOCIDE IN SUDAN? A bombshell report by French investigative outlet Mediapart has implicated two French industry leaders, Nexira and Alland & Robert, in the financing of the war in Sudan - meaning that the companies may be fuelling the g*nocide in the country, The companies are the gatekeepers of Gum Arabic, a resin found in everything from Coca-Cola and Pepsi to L’Oréal cosmetics and Nestlé snacks. Sudan produces 80% of the world's gum Arabic, but the vast majority of these trees are located in regions of Darfur and Kordofan currently occupied by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. By processing this resin, French multinationals are providing the RSF with a critical blood currency to sustain its brutal operations. To bypass international scrutiny, the RSF is reportedly smuggling the gum through neighbouring countries to obscure its origin. This allows the militia to tap into global supply chains, turning your favourite soft drinks and medicines into indirect subsidies for ethnic cleansing and systemic r*pe. However, it must be emphasised that while the gum trade provides cash for the RSF, it cannot sustain the militia's massive scale of destruction alone. The UAE remains the primary architect, providing the heavy weaponry and diplomatic cover that allows the RSF to operate with total impunity. Nonetheless, it is worth noting the tragic irony of how the West consumes Sudan’s natural resources while the Sudanese people are consumed by the violence those very purchases fund. KENYANS SHOT DEAD PROTESTING US EBOLA CENTRE Tragically, Kenya has already seen its first victims linked to the controversy surrounding the proposed Ebola quarantine centre in Laikipia County, as local Kenyan media reports that two people have reportedly been shot dead in the town of Nanyuki amid protests against US plans to establish an Ebola isolation facility at Laikipia Air Base. One of the victims was shot near the airbase where demonstrators had gathered to protest the quarantine facility. He later died after being rushed to hospital by friends. The second victim was reportedly already dead when soldiers brought his body to the hospital. The protests erupted after Kenyan President William Ruto publicly confirmed that he had personally authorised the establishment of the US Ebola quarantine centre at the request of President Donald Trump, despite Kenya’s High Court having temporarily suspended the facility just days earlier following public health concerns raised by the Katiba Institute. Many protesters argue that Kenya should not be used as a quarantine site for foreign citizens exposed to deadly viruses abroad and see the decision as part of a wider pattern of neo-colonial subservience to Western powers.

ONE YEAR AFTER THE REVOLUTION, TRAORÉ ANNOUNCES THE MANIFESTO On the first anniversary of Burkina Faso's Popular Progressive Revolution, President Ibrahim Traoré delivered a fiery address that reaffirmed revolutionary commitment with practical steps. Speaking on April 1, 2026, Traoré announced that a revolutionary manifesto will be released in the coming days, outlining the revolution's framework across multiple social sectors. The document aims to "structure the revolutionary ideology to better guide and durably transform Burkinabè society." The Burkinabe president and the leader of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) revealed that several foreign armies had offered fighters to assist in counter-terrorism operations. "By our intrinsic values, we said no, we will fight as Burkinabè," Traoré declared, stating that Burkina Faso is now "winning the bet" and reconquering enemy-held territory. On economic sovereignty, Traoré delivered a concrete vision of self-sufficiency: "If you wear imported shoes, as a revolutionary, you must find the cobbler so that we can create them here. If you carry a weapon, you must at all costs seek to manufacture the weapon here." The speech positioned Burkina Faso as a continental vanguard against Western domination. "We must be the flame that enlightens the minds of other Africans to take the path of revolution," Traoré said, explicitly rejecting "the dark destiny of democracy imported from imperialists." The announcements come amid broader national restructuring. Burkina Faso has adopted a 2026-2030 recovery plan with a 36,000 billion CFA franc budget focused on security and economic transformation, and consolidated sovereignty through the Alliance of Sahel States alongside Mali and Niger. PODCASTER SCHOOLS EUROPEAN COMMENTATOR “How are Europeans supposed to act, or react, when Africans are pouring in from everywhere at the moment?” a European commentator asks a young man, ignoring hundreds of years of colonialism that involved the exploitation of the African continent prior to and following the Berlin Conference of 1884-1995. The colonial powers met at the Berlin Conference, and ultimately concluded with the signing of the General Act of Berlin. This act essentially regulated European theft across the African continent during this new epoch of imperialism. Since the independence of African nations, Europe and the west have practiced neoliberal policies in the name of the free markets, which resulted in the harm and exploitation of indigenous communities across the continent. Even more fatal is the policy of regime change and destabilisation, such as the case in Libya, The Sahel, and the Horn of Africa, where millions have been killed, resulting in mass migration into Europe.
