From Leland Randleman “I saw this large shark swimming through the water at Seaside at 11:26 a.m. An officer came by and said the shark we filmed was at least 15 feet long. They have been following it up and down the beach.” Before you comment, we know “sharks live in the ocean” and “it is their home”. After multiple shark attacks there is heightened interest and I am simply passing along videos and photos without comment. One teenager from Mountain Brook is in critical condition; please consider holding off the snarky comments. Thank you.

DUST IN THE WIND: Right now, a massive plume of dry, dusty air is traveling thousands of miles from the Sahara Desert across the Atlantic…. the Saharan Air Layer (SAL). Some of the dust reaches the Gulf Coast region from Florida to Texas. The dust scatters sunlight, creating vibrant orange and red skies and colorful sunsets. The SAL’s dry air and strong winds actually help suppress tropical storms and hurricanes. And, when the dust finally settles, it can deliver vital nutrients to the Amazon rainforest and Caribbean coral reefs.
