HERE’S WHAT WE WOULD NOT SEE IF WE DIDN’T MONITOR THEM THIS CLOSELY… 💔 This poor young momma, who lost her foal yesterday, is so obviously grieving. If you don’t see it, your eyes may not be working. If you don’t feel it, your heart may not be alright. These are sentient animals with deep feelings. They form bonds, they experience loss, and they grieve. And that is why we've worked so hard to make sure they are treated humanely. After losing her baby, Jewell’s entire band traveled 4 miles from the river back to the Hills last night. This morning, they are here at our Hills feed station. (We kind of wish they had done that last week and we may have been able to help.) Because we never saw Jewell’s baby alive, we can only guess at what happened. So we are taking the baby to Midwestern University for a necropsy. We are hoping that we can get some answers—and perhaps give everyone some closure. We have, of course, seen this before, in our 20 years of record keeping and our 10 years of managing this herd. Thats how we know that Jewell will be okay. We usually see a mare lose weight after losing a foal, but after about two weeks, they typically begin to pick that weight back up. Our hearts are with sweet Jewell today. 💔 But more than anything, we are just grateful that she is alive and ok. BTW the BS from the talkers continues as they are desperately trying to credit people who do nothing but plagiarize our hard work and bash our group any chance they get. They found out what we were doing and rushed to post it for attention, and to divert information with their own phone #, that's definitely not to help. No, we don't own this herd and don't act like that of course, but we do own the work we do, and the work we have done for 20 years, and you would never know about any of it, if it wasn't for us. Wouldn't it be nice if some people could manage to have a little acknowledgement that these horses would not be here without us? Wouldn't it be nice if they stated, where they learned their information? Wishful thinking maybe, or maybe we have just had enough if it. For Jewell. For her baby. And for every Salt River wild horse. ❤️ Thank you, SRWHMG #saltriverwildhorses #wildhorses #saltriverherd #saltriver #srwhmg #saltriverhorses #IStandWithWildHorses #managethemhumanely #arizonasaltriverwildhorses #saltriverwildmustangs

11 million views and 585k likes? If that doesn't tell you how people feel about Salt River wild horses, then we dont know anymore! These people found themselves in the horses normal river crossing spot and they were very calm and respectful, while capturing this great video of Stewart and Nirvana's bands.

Great explanation of wild horse behavior. Three stallions. One missing mare. An unforgettable display of what wild horses care about. Watch closely. These three Salt River wild stallions gallop through the river with power and purpose. They're not fighting. They're not showing off. One of their mares has gone missing, and together they set out to find her. Watch their breathtaking strength, grace, and determination. This is what many people don't realize about wild horses: they have deep family bonds. They protect and love one another, and refuse to leave loved ones behind. Wild horses aren't just beautiful—they're intelligent, social, loving, and nothing means more to them than their families. ❤️ If this changes the way you see wild horses, please share this video. The more people understand them, the more people will fight to keep them wild and free. What a storm today! Our little Thunder survived his first thunder! It was scary! But he noticed his mom and his family standing firm, with their butts to the wind. And thats how a wild horse learns to weather a storm; Don't Panic, Keep your butt to the wind, and stand your ground, the sun will come out again! Share if you like to learn more about, but also from wild horses! Thank You. Salt River wild horse management group. P.s. no we cannot build them a shelter, these are wild horses who live in the Tonto National Forest. They are all dry again now! #saltriverwildhorses #wildhorses #saltriverherd #saltriver #srwhmg #saltriverhorses #IStandWithWildHorses #managethemhumanely #arizonasaltriverwildhorses #saltriverwildmustangs
