House Republicans’ Big Beautiful Bill is only beautiful to the wealthy individuals who stand to gain—not to the 16 million Americans who would lose access to healthcare and the 4.5 million people who would lose food assistance—not to the third of the population in my home of the Virgin Islands, that lives beneath the poverty line. The Congressional Budget Office confirms that this plan would be one of the largest wealth transfers to the rich in U.S. history. We cannot allow this to happen.
