Update on the Hindu temple/mega-statue site in Moncure, NC My understanding is that the Indian immigrants have not gotten permission from Chatham County for their grand designs of a 150+ ft statue, or perhaps the "Carolina Murugan Temple" complex either But a neighbor showed me where she says they bulldozed her trees and illegally built a road on her property (it's since been moved, but the clearing is still visible), so I'm not sure how concerned they are with rules The neighbor also says that the prayers/chants/music broadcast over loudspeakers spooks her horses, I can confirm that it could clearly be heard out on what would otherwise be a quiet dead-end rural neighborhood with small homes/singlewides, chickens, horses, etc.

Earlier this month, Fayetteville Police arrested an 18-year-old for painting swastikas on buildings, public equipment, etc. Although the police press release clearly identified that suspect Taquon Jameek Vereen was black Curiously, this fact was omitted from mainstream media reporting in WRAL, CBS17, and the Fayetteville Observer However, the latter publication did make sure to note thatswastikas are "commonly associated with Nazi ideology and white supremacist groups" and are "widely recognized as symbols of hate"

A North Carolina man has been charged with "hate crimes" for detaining two Hispanic passengers of a hit-and-run But was the driver who caused the accident excessively speeding, or perhaps very distracted/intoxicated? I went and checked out the location, and it seems Juan Campos traveled 200+ feet between leaving the road and and colliding with Austin Herber's truck I'm no physicist, but it seems to me that if a vehicle traveling under the road's 45mph speed limit and making a reasonable attempt to stop after missing the curve would not have hit Herber's vehicle at the rate of speed captured on the surveillance video, causing the truck to spin around and leaving a passenger covered in blood from a facial injury The situation doesn't get less fishy the more I look into it: I'll put a link below to a fundraiser where people have chipped in a few dollars for Austin

Self-described "antifascist" activist Angelica Mccreary is distributing a list with the details of the "personal businesses" associated with Republican state senators here in NC Although she claims the purpose is not to "doxx or harass", she is encouraging citizens to "get in touch," "make their voice heard," and "hit them where it hurts" by contacting the institutions these legislators own, work for, or even serve on the board of directors of Mccreary plans to publish a list for the Republican members of the NC House as well
