On the day BJP won a state it long coveted, its student wing ABVP stormed an auditorium at the University of Hyderabad(Univ of Hyderabad) , and attacked students staging a play. The play, Holi, was a final exam production, approved by faculty, scheduled for two nights. ABVP members objected to its dialogues on day one, demanded script changes, and threatened the student director. On night two, ABVP members gathered outside the packed auditorium. When denied entry, they forced their way in, threw bottles and chairs, and left at least two students injured, one needing stitches. The play still ran. Students have filed complaints with the Vice-Chancellor and plan a formal police complaint. They say this was censorship of academic work.
