A band from Colombia, Magende Afro Music. Music is a universal language! 👌🏾

“Mwari huyai…” Interesting piece of history on how the “fata murungu 😀” drum in Catholic hymns came about. (nrtv)

Classic Zim bangers that will outlast us all. Eternal. 🔥 📷 DJ Simba Tunes.

All we know is his name is Maxwell and he’s a massive Leonard Dembo fan. Performing ‘Funga Zuva Rimwe Pagore’ and Chitekeke with Tendai Dembo and the Barura Express in Harare.

Anyone remixing Chitekete is brave 😁What do you think of this teaser from DJ STAVO?

Even the GOAT Leonard Dembo himself would admit that this legend sings it better. Nailed it!

The time Mtukudzi covered a Chimbetu hit: In 1986, Simon and Naison Chimbetu recorded Ndiyamure, on the Dendera Resango album. Tuku loved the track, recorded his own version. He later performed it on stage a few times with Sulu Chimbetu.

Talking about musicians and “borrowing” (*ahem*) from other artists, here’s a thread of some pieces of Zim music that are similar to others. 1/ Kwedu by Sulu Chimbetu (ft Tuku) vs Kasuku by Orchestra Les Wanyika

Did you know: The legendary Zig Zag Band recorded two versions of the classic Gomo Ramasare. The original was recorded in 1987. ❓Let’s see if you have a good ear and know your music: Which one is the original between these two great tunes??

1/ Thread 🧵 The word “legend” is used too loosely at times. But on Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria? It sits perfectly. They call him “Senior Lecturer” because he nurtured the talents of many Sungura stars. Here’s a small thread on the icon. But first, a few of his bangers 🔥

Peak Orchestra Mberikwazvo! Macheso Zakaria Zakaria Charles Chembe Gift Putazi Donald Gogo Thomas Dasinto Rogers Fatiya Jabulani Chimiti William Tsandukwa Jonas Kasamba Remember the year this classic dropped??

Alick Macheso >> Noel Nyazanda >> Lucky Mumiriki >> Innocent Mijuntu. Obert Gomba on drums! Men at work 🔥🔥🔥 One of the greatest sequences in Zim music ever.

This Zimbabwean classic from 1980 by the Jairos Jiri Sunrise Kwela Kings, is also a popular in Colombia , remixed by DJs and sampled in dance tracks. So many great melodies that our innovative producers/artistes could sample today…👌🏾 This is DJ Clayr Iriarte 🇨🇴

May you have a good week — the kind of week the guy in the white shirt must have had after this. Mans had the time of his life.

Pastor Bandimba caused quite a stir in church circles when he dropped this one! 😀 Blessed Sunday…

There’s a reason why many guitarists don’t attempt to play John Chibadura’s guitar lines. According to Mono Mukundu, Chibadura had a unique style that many guitarists find hard to do! Check out some of his legendary guitar lines. 🔥

“Watch out…big storm is coming” This classic Zimbabwean rock song from the 1970s, by Wells Fargo, featured in the first episode of the 2025 TV show TASK, featuring Mark Ruffalo. The song was re-relased on a Wells Fargo compilation in 2016.

“Chitsidzo chedu hatichikanganwe nekuti pane veshanje….” 📸 Great choral rendition by Pathway School of the Macheso classic, “Sarah” 👌🏾

Many have tried, many failed! Any seasoned guitarist will tell you it’s impossible to recreate Alick Macheso’s lines. But these youngsters Naphtali Chivandikwa (bass) & Taka Mukundu (lead) said bring it!🔥 Watch their Macheso tribute in full here
