‘Normality’ is returning to Gao province. 🇲🇱🇷🇺 🏳️🏴 Following the joint JNIM-FLA offensive in late April, the Afrika Corps and the FAMa have been re-entering the areas abandoned in early May and expanding their military operations. An example of this can be found in N’Tillit, a town under the nominal control of JNIM but which remains the subject of ongoing disputes with ISSP. The Russian-Malian military operations met with no resistance, demonstrating a reduction in the jihadists’ initial strength from April, which had been weakened by Russian and government attacks on their camps and militants. On 3 July, the funeral ceremony for the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei began in Iran, set to last for six days. The scale of the funeral was evident from the very first day, when 32 delegations from various countries, as well as delegations representing regional and allied groups, arrived on Iranian soil. Countries from different regions, religions and cultures came together to pay their respects to a historic figure such as the Supreme Leader, but also to reinforce the idea that Iran was not alone on the international stage; rather, it had a greater presence than previously thought, having consolidated its victory over the US in the regional conflict, the definitive outcome of which remains in doubt for the time being. 🇮🇷

The systematic expulsion of Shiites and Alawites continues in Homs. 🇸🇾 After security forces and the STG gave the residents of Al-Mazra'a 72 hours to leave the town, the authorities in Damascus—using demolition techniques similar to those employed by the IDF in the West Bank—have begun destroying homes inhabited primarily by Shiites and some Alawites. Faced with the pain and helplessness of the civilians, some of them have put up resistance, only to be arrested in the end. The process of demographic change—under the pretext of expropriated land and the sectarian ties of minorities to the former political regime—is accelerating in Syria, while the international community turns a blind eye and whitewashes the current political regime led by Jolani.

Situation south of Lebanon [17/4/2026]: The Israeli army withdrew from Bint Jbeil and Khiam. 🇱🇧 🇮🇱 Following the ceasefire, the IDF withdrew to the outskirts of Bint Jbeil, allowing Hezbollah and resistance groups to resupply the besieged troops. In Khiam, the resistance managed to thwart Israel’s attempts to occupy the town after more than a month of fighting and forced the Israeli withdrawal to Tell al-Hamamis to the south-west. Following the withdrawal, Israel violated the ceasefire by bombing the town just as its inhabitants were returning. Thousands of civilians are returning to southern Lebanon following the announcement of the ceasefire, including by crossing the Litani River after the destruction of the bridges, in the hope of remaining in what remains their home, removing the flag of occupation and colonialism. Tension is rising in Daraa. 🇮🇱🇸🇾 Amid ongoing Israeli activities in Lebanon, incursions into Syria continued through the end of June. Residents of the towns of Maariya and al-Aridah blocked the roads to prevent the Israeli occupying forces from passing, given the absence of security forces and the STG that could oppose these incursions. On the night of Saturday, June 27, Israeli airstrikes targeted the town of Abdin in the Yarmouk Valley in response to the outbreak of clashes with local armed groups. The following night, security forces from the Ministry of the Interior entered the town to conduct raids and arrest those involved. Local armed groups, possibly affiliated with the IRSF, have threatened the IDF with an escalation if the incursions and attacks on Daraa and Quneitra continue.

Situation on Aleppo [13/1/2026]: After the victory in #Aleppo, the #STG took advantage of the momentum gained with Turkish-American diplomatic support to prepare for an offensive in the east of Aleppo governorate, sending reinforcements together with the SNA (& TSK support) to the Tishrin and Deir Hafer fronts, as well as to Raqqa, on the Ma'dan-Ghanem Ali axis. Consequently, the #SDF has also sent reinforcements to these fronts in anticipation of a large-scale confrontation that will end any attempt at diplomacy in Syria and mark the beginning of a new violent phase of the civil war.

Today morning Iranian air defenses shot down a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet as it flew over central Iran. 🇮🇷 🇺🇸 This is the first confirmed case of a US manned fighter jet being shot down by enemy fire inside Iran since the beginning of the regional war (Iran has claimed to have shot down other US fighter jets, but without completely solid evidence to prove a shootdown, although damage to them has been demonstrated). Thousands of local people are searching the mountains for the US pilot after Iran government offered rewards for them. Meanwhile, a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and two U.S. UH-60 helicopters conducted an operation in western Iranian airspace to locate and rescue the pilots. After several hours, at least one of the pilots appears to have been rescued, while the fate of the other remains unknown.

The truce has broken down in Iraq. 🇺🇸🇮🇶 A few hours after the US evacuation of Victoria Base was completed (which had been covered by the ceasefire), US forces bombed the PMU base in Al-Jarf, in Anbar Governorate. Meanwhile, the Iraqi resistance attacked US positions in Erbil.

Black Hawk Down! 🇮🇷 🇺🇸 Search aircraft flew over southern and western Iran at low altitude to avoid being shot down by air defenses. However, this left the aircraft vulnerable to ground attacks, complicating the rescue operation. In fact, a Black Hawk was shot down by Iranian air defenses. Despite this, the crew was able to abandon the helicopter and was rescued alive. Also an A-10 was shot down too during the rescue operations while was flying over the Persian Gulf.

Wagner PMC forces have partially withdrawn from Kidal. Negotiations are ongoing. 🇲🇱🇷🇺🏴 Today, Africa Corps convoys left the city carrying the wounded and heavy artillery from Kidal following an agreement with the FAL/JNIM. However, negotiations are continuing for a full withdrawal that includes the towns of Aguelhok and Tessalit, which are also under siege. This has disrupted the tense calm and led to renewed fighting, particularly against FAMa troops, who are now more exposed and vulnerable following the partial withdrawal. Furthermore, these negotiations stem from a severe blow dealt yesterday to Tuareg and jihadist forces by Wagner and Malian forces.

A new wave of violence in Syria. Sunnis are not spared. 🇸🇾 On June 14, local clashes broke out in various towns in Idlib and Aleppo, during which “regime elements” were lynched in response to the lack of justice from the new Syrian authorities. While it is true that some of those killed were involved in crimes during the previous political regime, the STG’s supporters are using the demand for justice as an excuse to intensify the constant wave of hatred—no longer directed solely against minorities, but also against Sunni citizens who do not support the new authorities in Damascus, who have been killed with impunity in recent hours.

Situation on Raqqa [18/1/2026]: [18:00] In northern Raqqa, the SNA began advancing south of Tel Abyad, taking positions previously abandoned by the SDF, and reached the agricultural area and the water canal. The town of Ayn Issa remains under SDF control despite continuous assault and bombardment by the SNA. In the rest of the governorate, the SDF has withdrawn to Hasakah or continues to withdraw, and fighting continues in Raqqa. Following the uprising of tribal groups, the governorate capital was taken pending the arrival of the STG, which happened later. However, pockets of SDF resistance continue to skirmish with the militants while receiving support from Division 17 Army Base and other military outposts north of Raqqa. The reasons for this resistance are to buy time for a complete withdrawal and to avoid what happened in Maskanah and Deir Hafer the previous day. Map: [ ]

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) withdrew from positions threatened by Israel the previous day, allowing Israel to intensify its ground operations in the south, entering Lebanon from the Ayta ash Shab and Yaroun axes, as well as bombing Lebanese localities in the south. In response, Hezbollah managed to destroy three more tanks and launched a wave of bombings on Israeli settlements in coordination with Iran along the border and north of Acre.🇮🇱 🇮🇷🇱🇧

Supply routes have become death routes. Is this the end of Russia’s current pace of progress of 2024–2025? 🇺🇦🇷🇺 By late 2025, the Ukrainian military—which had been ramping up its drone production and testing “middle strike” capabilities—began significantly increasing its attacks on Russian logistics, including trains, depots, and convoys in occupied areas. From isolated attacks with longer-range drones, the introduction of the Hornet drone (equipped with AI and fiber optics) coincided with Ukraine beginning to more actively strike railways and key routes in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Crimea from the rear toward the eastern and southern fronts.

Israel has backtracked and has not included Lebanon in the ceasefire. 🇮🇱🇱🇧 Following Israel’s strategic defeat in its quest to eliminate the current Iranian political regime, Tel Aviv will now focus on eliminating Hezbollah in Lebanon. Netanyahu announced that Lebanon is not included in the ceasefire despite the US, Iran and Pakistan (which has taken an important role in the negotiations for a ceasefire) announces. To this end, operations south of the Litani River are likely to intensify in what could be a long war if external pressure does not force the Zionist political regime to desist. This operation could leave Lebanon partially occupied and destroyed, as has happened in Gaza, under the pretext of fighting armed groups. Eliminating Hezbollah would represent Israel’s ultimate success in ‘neutralising’ all its neighbours, securing lasting peace in the Levant and, for Iran, a loss of influence behind Israeli lines (having Hezbollah is like having a land front against Israel). As for Lebanon, the country would have no chance of defending itself with a government and an army currently subservient to external dictates, and new dissident movements could emerge, leading to a new civil war. Hezbollah, after all, is more than a paramilitary group; it is a state within a state. In fact, the Israeli opposition is deeply disappointed with the ceasefire, branding it a humiliating defeat. Lebanon could be the consolation prize to appease the most radical sector of Zionism. To demonstrate Israel’s resolve, southern Lebanon was bombed this morning, resulting in further civilian casualties.

The military spokesperson for the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria, Oli al-Bass, Captain Mukaddad, reviews the Front’s official and on-the-ground position regarding the latest events and current developments on the Syrian scene: Oh, masses of our patient people! What we are experiencing today is not a call to account, but a jungle of utter barbarism driven by gangs of thugs seeking to spread chaos and settle scores We, the Oli al-Bass Front, condemn in the strongest possible terms the raids and attacks that have targeted civilian neighborhoods in Damascus, Hama, Homs, Palmyra, and the rural areas of Idlib and Aleppo. Their criminal acts have affected our people from both the Alawite and Sunni communities alike, demonstrating to the world that no one is safe from their hatred. We clearly declare that true justice is not based on revenge, and that accountability must be enforced against all criminals who have stained their hands with the blood of innocents—from the coast to Suweida—through a fair trial, not the law of the jungle. O heroes of Sham! This barbarism within is compounded by treachery from without. While that imbecile Trump comes out to announce his plan to use the so-called Jolani Brigade against our brothers in the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon—Hezbollah—Jolani himself has the audacity to admit the existence of direct and indirect security negotiations and contacts with the Zionist occupation. These are treacherous deals hatched in dark rooms to protect the entity’s security and secure its borders. We confirm that our weapons will not be diverted and that we stand alongside our brothers in Hezbollah in the battle for a shared destiny. O our faithful followers, O you who have endured bitter trials! The suffocating economic collapse and the systematic war of starvation plaguing our country are a malicious strategy carried out by Al-Julani and his masters to break you and drive you to the brink of despair and famine. They want to strip you of your dignity and way of life in order to push Syria, against its will, into the quagmire of betrayal, acceptance of normalization agreements, and subordination to the occupation. O men of true courage! The Zionists’ continuous advance and blatant attacks in Daraa and Quneitra are the greatest challenge, demanding a decisive response on the ground. We send our final and forceful message to the Zionist enemy and to Jolani and his collaborationist security agencies. Our weapons are ready, and our men are lying in wait for the occupation on every hill and in every valley. Your dark rooms will not succeed in diverting us from our sacred duty. No matter how hard they try to strangle us and besiege the men of Oli al-Bass in the south to restrict our movement and cut us off from the axis of resistance, we proclaim from the heart of the battlefield and in a loud voice that our military actions are on their way, and they are coming with force. Long live a free and proud Syria!
