Russians have cut off the Druzhkivka–Andriivka route. 🇷🇺🇺🇦 After consolidating their positions in Novomykolaivka, Russian forces managed to gain the upper hand over Ukrainian forces at the Vesko dachas, also known as Novo Nikolaevka-Druzha, from where clearance work continues at the quarry and the mining company’s buildings. This success enabled Russian soldiers to advance even further north, entering Novoandriivka. There is as yet no Russian consolidation, but this is expected to take effect in the coming days after Ukrainian troops withdrew towards the eastern quarries. Map: [ ]

The end of the Syrian Democratic Forces. 🇸🇾 On 20 August, General Mazloum Abdi announced that ‘the military, security and administrative integration process has been completed’. This came weeks after the formation of the four new SDF/YPG brigades within the 60th & 72nd Divisions was completed and the Asayish forces took control of the remaining positions in the contact zones following the withdrawal of the STG. The withdrawal of non-Syrian Kurdish forces, which had fought for years within the ranks of the SDF, was also announced. However, despite the official announcement, the process of integrating certain SDF institutions into the national structure remains pending, as does the implementation of the rights of the Kurdish population (and their protection against the anti-Kurdish campaign by Arab tribes) promised by the Syrian transitional government in January. It also remains to be determined how the ‘autonomous’ zone of Hasakah will function, and which powers will be shared and which will be regional. Map: [ ]

Hated by Syrian terrorists and ignored by Druze leaders, the remains of Syrian General Issam Zahreddine lay abandoned in the desecrated shrine at As Sawra as Saghira (currently under Bedouin control) during one year. However, honourable Syrian Druze were able to recover the remains and move them to a safe place.

The war with Iran is reshaping the balance of power in Iraq. 🇺🇸🇮🇶 During the withdrawal from Iraq, NATO countries and the US asked the Iraqi resistance for a 24-hour truce to ensure the withdrawal from their bases. The US is withdrawing its personnel from Victory Base in Baghdad, which has been repeatedly attacked during these three weeks of fighting, to its bases in Jordan, which will bring an end to the US presence on Iraqi federal territory (a process that had accelerated following the withdrawal of most of its troops from Syria and the handover of Al-Asad Airbase in January 2026), leaving only Al-Harir Air Base in Iraqi Kurdistan, which is likely to become the new target of attacks alongside the daily strikes against the headquarters of the Kurdish militias. The US withdrawal from Baghdad is a victory for the Iraqi people, who have fought for two decades to rid themselves of foreign occupation.

Regarding the Russian capture of Novosoloshyne: The video is a week old. Russian soldiers filmed their staged display with flags and withdrew from Novosoloshyne via Liubitske, which may no longer have a Russian presence either. Remember, what matters is that a general has pinned a new medal on himself for the virtual capture of a locality. No matter the cost of lives. (Sarcasm)

Saudi Arabia responds. Sana’a carries out the sentence. 🇸🇦 🇾🇪 Following the Yemeni attack on Saudi positions on 17 July, in the early hours of 19 July the Aden government, backed by Riyadh, bombed Ansarallah positions in the city of al-Hazm, allegedly targeting missile launchers. In response to the attack, the government in Sana’a announced on 20 July the imposition of a naval blockade on Saudi Arabian ports and the suspension of maritime traffic to that country in response to what they refer to as an “air blockade”.

The Syrian resistance attacks Israeli occupation troops in Daraa. On August 9, the IRFS issued a statement claiming to have attacked Israeli positions at Al-Jazira Barracks (from where Israeli troops have harassed and attacked civilians in the towns of Ma’ariya and Abidin in recent months) “in retaliation for the blood of our martyrs and in response to the latest incursions.”

“In my opinion, I think it's over.” 🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Donald Trump declared in Ankara on July 8 that he had no intention of moving forward with the memorandum of understanding with Iran. That afternoon, new waves of attacks against targets in southern Iran took place, striking military, energy, and civilian sites.

The Malian army has managed to turn the tide in southern Mali, destroying a large number of JNIM vehicles with support from the Wagner Group. As in previous instances, the jihadists have managed to temporarily capture positions in the country (seizing weapons and ammunition depots and inflicting casualties on the army). However, the issue is that they cannot hold onto that territory due to logistical difficulties, so eventually all their gains from the past few hours will be reversed. The situation is different for the FLA, as it has recaptured towns with a Tuareg majority and has better supply lines through the hostile desert along the border with Algeria, so it is possible that the front line will return to Niger. Even so, jihadist influence continues to spread across the country, with armed forces that continue to struggle to control the country—first with French support, then with Russian support—while neighboring countries face the same problems. 🇲🇱🏴

Sana’a attacks Saudi Arabia’s Yemeni proxies. 🇾🇪🇸🇦 On 7 August, Ansarallah launched a series of attacks against YNA positions in the governorates of Marib (Al-Ruwayk base and Sahan al-Jin military base) and Hadramout (Al-Abr area), leaving at least 45 dead and 120 wounded. Attacks were also carried out in the port city of Mocha, which is under the control of Tariq Saleh’s militia, and systematic attacks took place in Shabwah and Dhale, as well as against Saudi positions in Najran. As a result, the death toll rose to 62, with more than 150 injured, in what has been described as a major deterrence operation in response to the ongoing threats of tribal mobilisation and the intensification of Saudi Arabia’s siege of Yemen.

On July 6, Iranian Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia made the following announcement during the funeral procession for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei: “We have repeatedly stated that we are on high alert. We have used the ceasefire period to improve our operational capabilities and update our target database, and if the enemy commits any act of aggression or violation of sovereignty, it will undoubtedly receive a forceful response—even greater than in the past—that will make it regret its actions more than ever.” Akraminia’s words were not mere rhetoric; the war was not over. On the night of July 7 and into the early morning of July 8, the U.S. launched a series of attacks against southern Iran in response to “Iranian attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz (which were using the illegal routes established by Washington).”

Situation on Aleppo [13/1/2026]: After the victory in #Aleppo, the #STG took advantage of the momentum gained with Turkish-American diplomatic support to prepare for an offensive in the east of Aleppo governorate, sending reinforcements together with the SNA (& TSK support) to the Tishrin and Deir Hafer fronts, as well as to Raqqa, on the Ma'dan-Ghanem Ali axis. Consequently, the #SDF has also sent reinforcements to these fronts in anticipation of a large-scale confrontation that will end any attempt at diplomacy in Syria and mark the beginning of a new violent phase of the civil war.

On 20 July, the US continued to bomb Iranian positions in the south of the country (Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Chabahar, Konarak) and in the north-west (Tabriz). 🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Iran continued to bomb US positions in Kuwait, from where attacks on Iranian coastal towns are still being carried out. Positions were also attacked in the UAE, Kuwait (Ali Al Salem Air Base, Camp Arifjan, Camp Buehring, Al-Sabiya Power Plant), Bahrain (Al-Sakhir Airport, Port Salman) and Jordan (King Hussein International Airport). Attacks also continued against ships violating the routes established by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. 🇮🇷 🇺🇸🇧🇭🇰🇼🇯🇴🇦🇪

Today morning Iranian air defenses shot down a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet as it flew over central Iran. 🇮🇷 🇺🇸 This is the first confirmed case of a US manned fighter jet being shot down by enemy fire inside Iran since the beginning of the regional war (Iran has claimed to have shot down other US fighter jets, but without completely solid evidence to prove a shootdown, although damage to them has been demonstrated). Thousands of local people are searching the mountains for the US pilot after Iran government offered rewards for them. Meanwhile, a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and two U.S. UH-60 helicopters conducted an operation in western Iranian airspace to locate and rescue the pilots. After several hours, at least one of the pilots appears to have been rescued, while the fate of the other remains unknown.

The truce has broken down in Iraq. 🇺🇸🇮🇶 A few hours after the US evacuation of Victoria Base was completed (which had been covered by the ceasefire), US forces bombed the PMU base in Al-Jarf, in Anbar Governorate. Meanwhile, the Iraqi resistance attacked US positions in Erbil.

At the start of 19 July, the US carried out its ninth consecutive night of air strikes against Iran, with the aim of weakening Iranian capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz and as a retaliatory strike for the deaths of two US soldiers killed in Iranian attacks. IRGC positions on Qeshm Island, in Sirik, Bandar Abbas, Hajjiabad, Bandar Lengeh, Khuzestan and Tabriz were targeted, as was the Darkhovin nuclear power station, which is currently under construction. 🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Consequently, Iran launched missile and drone attacks against US and allied facilities in Kuwait (ammunition depots, radar stations, and the desalination and power plants themselves), Bahrain (the US Navy’s 5th Fleet), Jordan (the airbase near Hussein International Airport in Aqaba) and northern Iraq (Kurdish militia positions in Soran and Erbil, where the death of another US soldier was reported). 🇮🇷 🇺🇸🇮🇶🇰🇼🇯🇴🇧🇭
